This week, another technician who repaired the stove pointed out that a plate was not covering the electrical wiring behind the stove's kick plate. So, for four years, my family and I were using a GAS stove with exposed wiring just behind the kick plate. The owner came by today with a "colleague" to "investigate." His colleague admitted that a plate should cover the exposed wiring. Rather than admit this grievous oversight, the owner offered up this absurd explanation: Someone else removed the plate in the four years since the original installation. No one removed the plate. No one. Why would anyone do that? He also claims that he installed a shut off valve. I have asked the TSSA to launch an investigation. Save yourself the risk and trouble my family has unknowingly endured for four years. I urge you to choose another contractor. The owner will no doubt respond to this warning with denials and accusations. You can believe him if you want to but, if you do, you will regret it.

The store was recommended by a friend in Toronto whose family lives in Guelph. I phoned Shuh's and spoke to Jeffrey Maclean, who arranged to have a repairman go to my friend's home in Guelph to fix his dryer. Jeffrey was totally professional. He took down all the info and told me a repairman would drop by between 9 a.m. and noon. Sure enough the repairman showed up exactly as arranged. He did a great job and fixed the dryer on the spot. The price was VERY reasonable. I highly recommend Shuh's appliance repair service. It is reliable, fairly priced, friendly and professional. I would also consider purchasing appliances from Shuh's too if I ever need any.

We engaged them to install an AC and Furnace for our office. Did all the financing paperwork, which they reviewed (ended up being wrong), and had several site visits from Jason the owner. They told us all was good and lets book. We did. turns out they jumped the gun. The end result was them pointing fingers and blame at me and my staff, when we asked for their help and guidance multiple times. And lastly, while i was out of town they sent a crew to remove the newly installed equipment with out the decency / professionalism to try and figure out a solution to a mess they 90% created. Bottom line, if you have upfront cash for the project they are awesome, if not RUN!!!! They do not know what they are doing when it comes to sales and customer service. Also during the removal they damaged our newly installed flooring.

My last three appointments were rescheduled (in the fall, I was generously offered a fireplace service date six weeks later than originally booked), and today (July 8, 2025) - surprise! - no one showed up at all. Not a word of explanation, no apology, just radio silence. It's heartwarming that they thank me for being a "loyal customer" in their automated emails and text confirmations - unfortunately, all that loyalty has bought me is mounting frustration and lost work hours (I need to take at least four hours off every time they don't show up - which is often). I requested immediately stop charging my Visa for monthly fees and refund the prepaid amount for the upcoming fireplace service - which, statistically speaking, would've likely been cancelled anyway.
