    Nachos

I'll start with the good! Came to Local with some friends after an event in SLU. The drinks were pretty good, especially the skinny mango marg. The nachos were tasty too and they accommodated the vegetarians by putting the beef on the side. It was Friday around 9pm and wasn't too crowded. It took a while to get a table, so I asked the front if we could sit at the bar and they said no. We were eventually seated in the far back away from other parties when there were open tables in the bar area which was a bummer (again, Friday night - would've preferred some liveliness). Our server took a long time to come by throughout the night, like at least 20-30 minutes between, so we only got one round of drinks over 2 hours. Overall a mediocre experience, but maybe we just went on an off-night.

My first stop once I arrived to Seattle and I wanted to whine down. I walked over to this restaurant/bar and instantly fell in love with the vibes! Locals were friendly and approachable. My bartender was very helpful and even gave recs for my nachos. I tried a beermosa made with guava and it was so refreshing! Just what I needed after a flight. My nachos were also good but I wish it had a little more pork meat. Otherwise, great flavors, toppings and generous portion served. This can be shared for sure. Pay them a visit next time you are near by.

I love Local! I think the food is really good but I feel like the service can be hit or miss here. I love their extensive menu and diversity in the menu and drinks. A great place to watch games! I also love that during brunch they serve both lunch and brunch menus

Food - I got the dutch baby which was good. But I had some of my husband's hash and the potatoes were amazing. They were little squares of thinly sliced and layered potatoes that were crispy and salted perfectly. I will try the recreate these potatoes at home but I'll prob fail. Service - we had a large party and they handled our orders great. Everything came out quickly and they checked in on us. Ambiance - tons of seating. They have an upstairs area as well as a separate bar area. Tvs everywhere. And they play music videos which I miss.

This place was busy when we got there at 530p. Our group was able to get a booth in the bar area so it was a little bit loud but we had a great waitress. When the water arrived our glasses were dirty and there was a lot of floaties. We asked for a new glasses and the glasses that were provided were also dirty. I ordered the fish tacos that came with two deep fried fish tacos on fresh cabbage and a delicious pico de gallo. Also it had a side of french fries that were a little underdone and they charged a dollar for a side of tartar sauce. The fish tacos were delicious. They were fresh, flaky, and the Pico was the magic ingredient. Highly recommend. The french fries however were underdone so they were dense and firm but had great seasoning. With tip, the plate was $27.50

Cute restaurant, service was great and ambiance was nice. Food was good but more on the expensive side for some of the portions given. Overall I would definitely come back. Shrimp dumplings were AMAZING

Walked here as SlU Block Party didn't have many food options. Friendly server. Ordered the Peanut Satay Noodle Salad $23 and Blackened chicken curry bowl $24. A bit overpriced for the portion that you get but the food was tasty. A bit loud that we had to kinda raise our voices but otherwise all good. Solid 3.5

This is a good spot in south lake Union to get a drink or food. I'd describe it as a "fun" atmosphere and a decent gathering spot. Typical menu which provides many options as well as some signature drinks. I've been to this location 3x and feel a mixed bag on the waitstaff. Usually good, upbeat service though.

The local burger and fries. Sooo good

The food is truly delicious. The steak and dumplings *chefs kiss. The local Burger was perfectly seasoned and gooey in just the right way. And the apple pie cobbler was so good we had it first and we're glad we did. The drinks were also perfectly crafted but the real icing on the cake was Tina our server! Attentive and kind and steered us in the right direction. We highly recommend Local! *Ask for Tina!

Solid 3.5 for food and 5 for service. Conveniently located LPE is a great spot to catch a quick lunch while at work. I personally didn't like how tangy my couscous salad was, but I appreciated the freshness of ingredients. Next time around I'll probably go for the ramen my colleague ordered that looked delicious! The ambiance is pretty bare bones but good if one would like to schedule a work lunch. I'll likely have to be back coz I often stop by the building next door for work.

Cute and fun spot to eat at! Right around the corner from my hotel and was referred by the hotel staff. I sat at the bar and ordered their Caesar salad with grilled chicken and fries (balance right?! ) the service was great and the food was delicious. The Caesar had a spicy dressing that was signature and memorable. Can't wait to make this my local spot when I'm back in Seattle again!

Recently visited Local after attending a concert because it was one of the restaurants that was still opened late. This place is quite a vibe! It's dark inside and is like a sports bar but they also have outdoor seating with fairy lights. Tbh some food items are kinda pricy but delicious. We got the Hawker's street curry which came with roti bread and curry sauce. The roti bread was warm and soft. The curry sauce tasted like a thicker version of Tom Kha which is sweet and sour soup with coconut cream. I also ordered the Local burger with yam fries. Burger was pretty good and filling (it came with two patties). Highly recommend the yam fries! They're perfectly crisp and came with an yummy sauce. I was excited to visit again after another concert a week later because I wanted to try their ramen with fried chicken but they had a sign saying they were closed early :/

Our server was friendly, answered all of our questions about the menu, and gave some great recommendations, which made choosing what to order much easier. I ended up getting the Dry Aged Steak Frites from the Happy Hour menu and OMG!! The steak, cooked medium, was incredibly juicy and tender!! I was so sad when I got down to the last bite lol As for the Russet French Fries, they were perfectly seasoned and just the right size. I especially enjoyed dipping them into the Fermented Chili Aioli. To which I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't actually spicy, given that I do have a pretty low spice tolerance lol. Overall, I'd definitely come back again! :)

I genuinely don't know what to do with that explanation. The food took so long. I ordered my steak medium rare and it arrived overcooked. I thought this was a steakhouse and yall can't even cook a steak medium rare? One person in our party never received their salad despite asking multiple times. Their stupid steak dish is $50 entree with zero sides. I added cauliflower for an extra $17 charge and received something I could have made in five minutes. Finally, we tried to order dessert and were told they were out of the item we all wanted. This place is a ripoff with terrible service.

UPDATE 2/22/26 I see that Vince U (Yelper right before us) deleted his comments about not receiving a rose and thought maybe it was Violet being possibly biased against gay couples. I understand why it was deleted but wanted to give context around my first paragraph above. We were very underwhelmed by the prix menu for Valentines dinner. I noticed Vince U did not take a picture of the lamb, which was about the size of a half-dollar coin, if anyone remembers what those are LOL. Yes the two bites of lamb was decent but nothing to write home about. Agreed, the Risotto was very delicious indeed, salmon was great, chocolate desert was very, very good, otherwise the rest was OK. But I wouldn't agree to understanding the assignment, for us. I had the wine flight and I love a good wine. These were all OK wines. I get it, you have to watch your costs and make a good profit, to which I totally agree. I wish we would have tried Violet our first time for the regular menu. I'm guessing we would have rated 4 or 5 stars more than likely. For a bill of $400+ (including a great tip because we love to support) we felt like we were almost ripped off. I get it, it's a special occasion and lots of work goes in to these things but walking out of there $400+ poorer really made us feel bad, from a value perspective. We never mind paying for value, but this was not it and did not hit the mark for us.

Dinner for two ended up costing nearly $350 -- meanwhile, last week in Toulouse I had a far better dinner for less than 100 euros. To make matters worse, you poured butter mixed with anchovies over our steak, completely destroying the natural flavor of the beef. The "au poivre" sauce on the side ($5 extra) was honestly terrible. What I ordered: Wishing to sample a little of everything, we were served, family style, two orders of Bread ($9 each) - buttered with salt and pepper; Fritto Misto ($12) - assorted, lightly fried and pickled vegetables with tarragon aioli; Smashed Burrata ($19) - snap peas, preserved lemon, mint, basil, sherry reduction; Carrot & Tahini Dip ($16) - caramelized garlic, feta, pistachio, crudite; two orders of Heirloom Tomatoes ($21 each) - melon, chevre, crispy quino, soft herbs; Crispy Potatoes ($16) - whipped feta, hot honey, mint; Mushroom Agnolotti ($34) - roasted maitakes, chanterelles, whipped ricotta, miso butter, thyme; Roast Chicken ($42) - chickpea, berbere yogurt, marinated cucumber, mint gremolata. To finish off our meals, we shared the Olive Oil Cake ($14) - basil yogurt cremeux, strawberry gel, and the Chocolate Tiramisu ($16) - mascarpone, rum, amaretto, candied hazelnuts. What I loved: Oh man, every dish was delightful. I found something to savor and repeat in each of the dishes we were served. From the sweetness of the heirloom tomatoes, to the creamy burrata, from the crispy potatoes, to the fresh peas and everything in between. Our least favorite, at the table was the mushroom Angnolotti, inconsistent from bite to bite. The presentation of the Carrot & Tahini dip was a bit haphazard compared to the rest of the dishes served, but the flavor was still lovely. Why I loved it: The service was unparalleled, comfortable yet professional and quick to offer recommendations for our larger party. The decorations and quaint spaces truly welcoming, and the food, excellent. Cost: High ($40+ per person)
