Delicious! I was happy to find that at least half of the taproom selections were flavors not sold in stores. We love discovering new flavors! The Orange Creamsicle and Limoncello were heavenly. The Pineapple Whip was also delicious. Wish we could've bought these flavors to take home, but unfortunately their can selection was quite picked over. Staff was very kind. The gentleman helping us was very attentive and offered many suggestions. We came right near opening, so it was empty inside. Just the way we like it. Ha! Chill hangout after being at the beach before walking the street to check out more shops. I will gladly come back! It has a 10/10 recommendation in my book!

We were in Solano Beach for a few hours, not our normal area to visit, and were looking for a bite to eat. We searched Yelp and found this place, highly rate, so decided to try it. We are glad we did. I had one of the best rolls I have ever had, and that is saying a lot. It's called the Grandview. Spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, topped with salmon, eel sauce, fried onion and tempura crunch. Fantastic! It's a must try. I do wish they had a better beer selection, but that's not the reason to come here.

Food: I was really impressed by the quality of their fish. I also enjoyed their bold flavors in their seaweed and edamame sides. The only con was the small portion of their sashimi plate for the pricing. Service: Very attentive and nice staff. Ambiance: Very casual spot. You order at the counter and get a number so they can bring your order. I liked how you could see the fresh fish bar near the bar. Space isn't that big but it's a great place to hang out.

I really like this spot! They have hard kombucha on tap, beer, wine, etc plus sushi and poke bowls. I went with the rainbow poke bowl and it was decent! I feel like they could have gone a little heavier on the amount of fish but it tasted really fresh/high quality. I like the vibes of Local Roots, definitely a lot of locals with their dogs just looking to hang out and grab a bite/drink. I'd probably come back to try their sushi.

Premium cuts, knowledgeable, amazing atmosphere. Definitely worth it to stop by and enjoy yourself to some real sushi.

Quick stop during our walk to Solana Beach and the sushi was delicious! The service was great. Cute home-like spot with a super inviting vibe.

Glad to see that new places are being added to Cedros, we definitely need more drinking and dinning establishments in Solana beach, not just coffee shops on every corner. Local roots is a great addition to the beach community and its conveniently located next to Carruth wine cellar. On my first visit here I've tried Safari Ride (orange, passion fruit, lemongrass), it was not overly sweet, refreshing and my friend got a Tropical Habanero, which does have a spicy kick to it . We paired out drinks with sushi roll. The rainbow roll for $16 i thought was a bit overpriced and not very remarkable. I personally didn't enjoy kombucha and sushi together, however i loved a sample of sake that was offered to us with our meal. I'm definately coming back to try other kombucha flavors!

Yikes, I was really hoping to like this place but it was rough on so many fronts. The tofu poke bowl was pretty bare for the price but fine until I hit huge chunks of iceberg lettuce that were enormous and just the leftover pits. There was only one bartender and as people started to come in it was definitely not enough coverage for all the bussing, service, etc that was needed. At one point "Who Let The Dogs Out" started blasting on full volume over the speakers and the bartender said " Sorry our Bluetooth got hacked". It was just weird and not a good vibe or great food from start to finish. Maybe that was on me to get tofu instead of fish, but still not a great experience. The NA kombucha was really good though!

Such a friendly local vibe. Hand a craving for some sushi and kombucha so this hit the spot. The service was great and we really appreciated the healthy menu selections. They have music some nights too.

Went for dinner to Local Roots by pure coincidence as I was with a group of girlfriends celebrating a birthday at the Belly Up and the food there was not of our liking. After the concert we attended we were super hungry and Local Roots was the closest option. We were surprised to see that they don't only sell kombuchas, but also sushi (apparently was a pop-up converted now in full kitchen). We were all super pleased with our rolls and even I am not a kombucha girl, I enjoyed the flavors of the generous samples provided. Also, I found the place to be very clean, modern and spacious tables.

The bluefin tuna and yellowtail poke bowl I had was very delicious. Simple, but fresh. Small, but satisfying. The fish is very high quality, which sets this bowl apart.

5 stars for the vibes and friendly service! Great addition to Cedros in Solana Beach. Easy parking on a Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed my non alcoholic kombucha. Sushi on site as well if you're hungry. Bright, airy, modern, and clean interior.

    Lianne E.

Convenient stop at the corner, fresh sushi and clean space. Price on sushi rolls on the higher end, but must try the kombucha - very smooth and tropical taste.

So many good flavors to choose from!

Our large group has attended Sunset Trivia for 6+ years across San Diego. We are exactly the kind of repeat customers businesses usually want to acquire during weekly events like trivia nights. This was our first time at Carruth Cellars. One member of our group arrived early and specifically asked about the menu. She was told the food menu was small and that most people bring in or order outside food. At no point did the brunette woman behind the counter mention restrictions on outside beverages or that purchases were expected in order to participate in trivia. Later, one friend's bottled soda needed a bottle opener, and when my husband politely asked the woman at the counter for help, she abruptly refused and informed him outside drinks were not allowed. Shortly after that, she came to our table and told us trivia was "for patrons only." The issue is not that the business wants customers to purchase something. That is completely understandable. The issue was the hostile, reactive way it was handled after we had already settled in -- especially when there were multiple opportunities earlier to simply communicate expectations politely and proactively. What felt especially shortsighted is that while many trivia attendees there may already be established wine club members, our group represented a completely different type of long-term customer opportunity. We are regular trivia goers who rotate between locations weekly, and businesses that create a welcoming atmosphere naturally earn repeat food and beverage purchases from us over time. Instead, rather than making new customers feel welcome and encouraging future spending organically, the interaction immediately made us feel scrutinized and unwelcome. Had the experience been warm and inviting instead of confrontational, there is a very good chance Carruth Cellars would have gained a recurring trivia group willing to spend money there week after week. One of our teammates later tried to respectfully explain that it was our first visit and that none of these expectations had been communicated upfront. The disgruntled employee responded that it was "implied" people should purchase something. Good hospitality does not rely on guests guessing unstated rules. We walked away feeling like the business was more focused on policing potential customers than creating an environment that actually encourages people to return and spend money voluntarily. The woman working on the evening of May 19th was not a positive representation of your winery, and if this is how guests are treated, it raises serious concerns about how new customers are being welcomed.

I came here recently for a work dinner, and I just needed to make one or two loops. And before I delve into the food, I want to give a quick shoutout for the great service we received all night! Our waiter was very diligent and attentive; he made sure to provide updates when items were stalled. Several of us had to leave early, and so he made sure to get us to-go containers so we could take our food home. Okay, now for the food! Appetizers: - Ahi Poke Wontons: 7/10. The wonton chips were crispy and not oily at all. The sweet ginger was a bit overpowering, though. - Salt & Pepper Shrimp: 6/10. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but these were good! A bit crispy, and very large! This was my coworker's favorite appetizer. - Grilled Steak Skewers: 8/10. Delicious! The herb marinade was subtle, but it added that extra punch to some already tender steak. I get easily icked out by beef, but the size of these bites made it easily palatable. - Crab cakes: 9/10. My favorite bite of the night!! Although the crab flavor wasn't super pronounced, it was delicious. The crispiness of the exterior paired nicely with the soft filling. I think I had like four of these by myself. Starter: - Baby gem caesar salad: 5/10. Kinda mid salad. I mean, it's good, but nothing memorable. It looks kinda sad since there was no protein. Entree: - Sesame-crusted king salmon. 8/10. Very nice presentation! I love the way they cooked their heirloom baby carrots. The shoyu butter was pleasant without being overwhelming. The salmon filet was a good size, too. Dessert: - Chocolate brownie: 9.5/10. I'm easy to please with desserts! This was so yummy! The cold vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate brownie combination is hard to mess up. Obviously, it is very sweet, but my sweet tooth loved it. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Sibicca. I would recommend it, and I can see myself coming back!
