My town contracted with Local Waste Services so I didn't have a choice. It's been over a year now and I must say that I am completely satisfied. They take whatever I put out there, and they can tell if something is trash or recycle. I've had two encounters with Customer Service. They have been great. One was for a problem they took care of quickly and the other was to get information which they provided me with immediately. Didn't have to look it up. I had my trash can out in the morning. I checked the mail in the afternoon and brought back my can. Twenty minutes later I hear the trash truck on my street! They had pasted my house and went on to the end of the court. I quickly wheeled out my can and waited for them by my mailbox to pass by again. They stopped and cheerfully emptied my can! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever encountered. We called for a bulk pickup. Specifically told them what we had and they said that was fine. They picked up nothing but the can the truck lifts in. When we called they said it was excessive and exceeds guidelines. So they took nothing. James Weaver CFO and Hailey customer service head were beyond rude and we still don't know the guidelines as to what/how much we can leave out (which is all we wanted to know) We were treated as though we were behaving belligerently. They never addressed that we were told what we had to put out was acceptable. The city has a contract with them and therefore we are stuck with them. Worst company every. If I could pick another company i would. I paid for my trash to be picked up and it is still outside waiting for them to pick it up. They passed my house multiple times. Company is a joke. My city contracted them to do trash and they don't want to do it. They have purposely skipped trash because I have complained about it. They have given multiple different excuse's. They have said they are following the city rules telling me that the city rule is that the lid has to be completely closed but in the same breath said the drivers will make exceptions if it's open but it's on them. Nobody can give me the exact numbers or amount that is acceptable if it is open no 2 people have given me the same answer. I have a group home next to my house and obviously their trash all 3 cans are overly filled they never missed not 1 day of pickup from them. I have since started taking pictures of trash cans on street who are equally filled and still get picked up. This is all because I filed a complaint. Call customer service they talk in circles every time no 2 answers are the same. They want you to pay monthly and they might pick up trash 1 time a month. They tell you to pay them extra to make another trip to pick up the trash they refused the first time. This has been ongoing issue. They refuse to help so now I have to have someone watching them when I can to assure they take the trash'. This is the WORST Waste Management Company ever!! The Mob does a better job!! As the photo shows, this is what it normally looks like after they pick up on trash day. They leave more trash behind than they pick up. If you are late on your bill, they will stop picking up your trash. Yet, there are people in the neighborhood that do not pay their trash bill ever... But they still pick up their trash. I have a neighbor that NEVER pays his trash bill, so he always puts his 2 trash barrels with the neighbor's trash barrel. Mind you, Local Waste Services say they will only empty ONE BARREL per property. Then why are they emptying 3 barrels at this property?? They don't even follow their own rules!! That is 100% ILLEGAL DUMPING!! And nobody cares?? But, we are FORCED to follow their rules!! You can't call the Police, they say it's a Civil matter, and if you call Local Waste Services, they do nothing about it!! Why are any of us paying these people?? Not to mention, their receptionists are complete BIT***S!!! Rude as can be & nasty to the core. Obviously, the company doesn't give a crap about good customer service either. If you ever have to call them, it's usually the same 2 people and they do not care about why you are calling!! If you ever have to call and complain about some thing, you will find that out real quick. Why am I paying their exorbitant trash bills when I can just put it on my neighbor's property?!?! This company has completely changed all of their rules for trash collection, and to top it off, they have raised their prices!! Horrible customer service. The guys that pick up the trash are wonderful. The issue started with my owned trash can falling into the truck and it was not retrieved. It was explained that for safety, they are not permitted. Even though I have seen this happen and the worker actually pull it out. I called and they basically said nothing could be done. I called back asking for a supervisor and she said they would replace the can. All is well until I sell the home. Local waste now says they own the can. I tried to explain but the CS rep was rude talked over me and said I could talk to a supervisor but ended up hanging up on me. Yes I was upset and let her know about it. I called back to speak with a supervisor. Stayed on hold until it turned 4pm and was hung up on again. read more

They provide trash/recycling for Plain City, Ohio. I will be advising the city to look elsewhere the next time the contract comes up. They took our recycling can away without notice. We were so surprised that we called the cops and reported it stolen! I contacted Local Waste and learned that they took the can because the previous homeowners (who had moved in July) did not renew the can rental. The "customer service" representative said that they did not have the personnel to check with us to find out if we wanted to continue the rental. But, they have time to send someone out to take the can AND then return it when we renew the service??? This is not just bad customer service. It is bad business! Of course the "customer service" representative couldn't have cared less. I am awaiting a call back from a supervisor. Our current plan is to buy our own can and to avoid giving Local Waste even one dollar more than we must. The only way these trash hauling companies learn to serve residential customers is if those customers are willing to convince their municipalities to go with competitors. read more

Horrible experience! Moved to a new property that requires us to set up trash service. The neighbor uses local so we thought that would be good to go with. Followed the process to set up service. Day of service we saw a local truck pick up our neighbors trash but bypass ours. Immediately called to try to make sure there was not an issue. They claim that they did not get the request for new service processed, and lost the paperwork which was an email even though I could show them the copy of what was sent and that it had been received on their end from Gmail. Even though I could still see the truck they refused to send it back. Even got a manager on the phone and even though by that point in time but they have established me as a customer on the phone they still refuse to send the truck back until the following service date. If I could give them zero stars I would. They are charging me for a month they didn't provide service. I am happy to pay for service I get but not service I don't. Tried to work it out with "customer service". That was a joke. They just hang up. I have called the AG office and the BBB. All over requesting a month be removed where they never provided me service so I could pay for when they did and pay for the next three months... hope that was worth it LWS. Alas, given that you only pick up my trash about 2/3 of the time if I am lucky anyway I guess it isn't really going to make much difference.... Absolutely terrible customer service! I had severe damage to my fence since 2016 when we began service. Since then, the sales reps have had little to zero communication via phone, email, text, etc. I have thorough notes of all documented phone calls and email attempts that validate there was absolutely no contact back to me to remedy any concerns or questions. Couple that with billing issues where they continuously tried to increase my bill even though no-one would respond about coming to fix the fence damage they caused in our first month of the contract! Here we are, many calls and emails later and I have still not heard back from Mark Mowery who was my rep. He instead would always send a new customer service rep to relay information that again, took weeks/months to be followed up on. Finally, in November 2018, my fence got fixed. I refused to cancel service and endure this terrible customer service until my fence would get fixed for fear that if I switched, they would never fix our expensive fence! I felt trapped into continuing service! What a terrible way to run a company! Do not sign a contract with this company!!!!! read more
