Basically, what happens is you go in and after a brief training video your fitted with a plastic shield and given a 'laser' gun. (don't worry it's totally harmless!) and then you go into a darkened room (don't wear white as they're are lots of ultra violet lights which add to the atmosphere). you're separated into 2 teams and given a base to guard, the idea is that each team attack the other base and score points which are all recorded and the score is given out to you at the end. You can also shoot each others which renders you unable to fire your gun for a few seconds and scores points for the other team. Not so good for little kids, but great for teenagers and I've seen quite a few stag parties have a go! Back to the bowling - it's tenpin and you can chose to go it alone or have bumpers, there's also the use of cradles for the less able bodied folks and little kids. They have a fully licenced bar aswell, and you can order food and drink to be delivered straight to your bowling lane! easy!

I found out about it one through the latest small talk publication and thought I would give it a try as they always seem to be popular choice of activity for my little ones. The directions given in advert were easy to follow and had no trouble finding the place except finding the entrance and car park was slightly more difficult. You need to past the little Legz building and take the next left and then the first left takes you round to the car park just outside the main entrance. Directions can be found from their web site and I will give the address at the end of my review. My first visit was a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed full with children of all ages having a great time. The admission price is a quite reasonable £3.70 for 1-3's and £3.95 for the over 4's. I also notice they do toddler session weekday mornings at a reduced rate which also includes a meal and a drink which seem great value. The place has a very lively atmosphere and is decorated in bright and colour designs which will a appeal to children. There is plently of seating for the grown ups and even a chilled out area with sofa's and sky tv so you can leave the kids to get on with playing a sit back and relax knowing they are safe. There is cafe for drinks, cakes and also meals can be ordered too from the menu. It is important to remember to take your socks as sock must be worn at all times in the play area and you wont be allowed on with out them. There is main play area as well as smaller section for younger toddlers. At busy times I would recommend keeping a close eye on younger children in the larger play area as the bigger kids tend to run around with out much notice off the smaller one as they are too busy having fun. I found my little one got banged a couple of times so I moved them to the toddler area where they were fine. This is a great place for kids mine were smiling the whole time. They loved the slides best of all but had fun in all the areas. A good time was had by all my family and I certainly will be heading back there soon. They provide food for the children at the party which saves you the hassle of organising it yourself, but again the kids really just wanted to play rather than eat. One thing the place seriously lacks though is air-con, it was during summer and there were lots of very red little faces after all the running around in the suffocating heat! The staff could've been a little more enthusiastic too, they were young girls who really looked like they couldn't be bothered to be there.

When I looked around the place and read the literature provided; I realised that the venue was a bar and cafe downstairs, but upstairs there were three huge golf simulators. It stuck me as a bizarre concept for a bar that is so anonymously located in town. Situated in a newly regenerated part of Granary Wharf, I discovered it by accident and have never seen it advertised anywhere. The tables and chairs coordinate with the theme, the grooves of a golf ball are obvious throughout the decor. The menu consists of a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, something to snack on whilst using the simulators. It is not a place I would choose for the sole purpose of dining. My attention was drawn to 'Tigers' Beef Steak Sandwich. The mind boggles when thinking of what that snack would involve, considering his recent indiscretions. It's enough to make you lose your appetite. I visited the bar on a Friday afternoon, and the clientele seemed to be made up of groups of suit-clad business people, being allowed to begin their weekends in advance. I think that is the danger with Cafe Golf Bar Leeds, it could be a regular location for office outings, thus creating a slightly cringe worthy atmosphere. However, surrounded by contemporary apartment blocks, the bar does also attract a younger crowd during the evening. I just do not understand why this is an exciting activity. To me, it is as interesting and nonsensical as sitting on the arm of a sofa whilst whinnying, pretending I am on a horse. Prices are very nice as well with an hour going for 24 quid so if there is 2 of ya then it's 12 quid a piece. The more people that rent the simulator the cheaper it is. They have a full bar and a decent menu for a pub menu. They also have a smoking deck that's right on the river. So if your into golf or want some place new to watch soccer(haha) they have a game showing every night, I recommend this place.

Huge playgym designed for kids up to the age of 7…read more We've visited this playgym a few times now for children's birthday parties and I personally find the place so big and daunting for a 2 year old. There are activities available for all ages, although very small area for under 5's compared to over 5's but the building itself is so big and found it very difficult to watch my child due to this. There were 4 children's parties taking place at one time and children were going with other groups by mistake so got the impression there was too much going on for them too. Quite expensive in comparison with other playgyms in the area but maybe that is to suit the older end of the children.

As she's not quite big enough on her own my sisters and I had to take it in turns to go on with her, 3 times climbing rope netting and huge stairs with a 3 year old is very hard work so we had to work on a rotation system to give each other a rest! I think we had nearly as much fun as she did though. You do have to be careful as the bigger kids are tearing around the place and don't think twice about knocking the smaller ones flying so don't let young ones enter the larger play area on their own.
