Loved the food, the quesabirria was delicious and I'm surprised I haven't tried them earlier. They were a tad expensive for me but I'd definitely come again. Service was quick and seemed busy when I went for lunch. Great spot for a casual date. The agua fresca was also delicious.

We went in to Locoz Tacoz expecting tasty, authentic Mexican street food in a charming little spot, and that's exactly what we got. My Quesabirria were delicious- tender meat, lots of cheese, onions, cilantro, and a nice crunchy shell. The staff were all super friendly and our food was ready fast. They don't have lots of seating, but as soon as a table left a worker was there right away to clear it for the next customers. Only slight complaint would be that the prices are a bit high for a counter-service place, but they aren't crazy enough to stop us from wanting to come back.

    Burrito Al Pastor with Fries

This place offers a fast casual dining experience with moderate prices. I ordered the burrito with Al Pastor meat and a side of fries. I felt that burrito was a good weight and a more bang for your buck option but it was lacking on flavor. My opinion is that the burrito was made with what tasted like Great Value branded ingredients and could be something an Irish dive bar could also serve. I was left full but disappointed. The food looks great, feels like a good value, but is lacking on the flavor. I could hardly taste the meat. I think they put a lot of rice in the burrito which watered down a lot of the al pastor flavor. I'm not discouraged from coming back and trying something else. The fries were seasoned well but tasted like they were re-fried rather than freshly made.

I love Locoz Tacoz tacos but my newest obsession is their breakfast burrito! The potato and cheese taco wrapped then encased in a blanket of cheese is as heavenly as it sounds!!

I finally checked out Locoz for the first time with a friend group. This place offers a quaint seating area and is able to seat small parties of 4 or less. They offer a condensed menu of basic Mexican and Tex Mex foods to choose from such as tacos, sopes, tortas, loaded fries, and breakfast burritos (this is a newly announced menu item). I was disappointed that they don't offer smaller portion sizes for the menu items since the items were way too much food, but on the plus side the amount of food is a good price and enough to share with another person. I tried their sopes and they were decent, it definitely didn't need as much lettuce on top as they gave me and it definitely packed some flavor.

Taco lovers, this is your sign, go to Locoz Tacoz! Had a major craving and this spot did not disappoint. The street tacos were you pick your protein, and they come out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The meat was tender and juicy, and everything was super satisfying. Also, don't sleep on the cheesy fries... absolutely delicious! Great spot for a quick, flavorful bite.

Back again to try the margaritas and quesabirria. the birria tacos themselves were flavorful and the consommé was amazing! It was thicker than I've had before which I liked because it stuck to the taco after dipping. The margaritas are from a premade bottle which was disappointing for $11!

Was in cali for a few months , had the best mexican food ever, came here looking for that same feel. Never disappointed, Service is impeccable as well but even if they sucked, food could always bring me back

GENEROUS portions! High quality meat (we had the asada, shrimp, shredded chicken and shredded beef). Street corn was delicious with fresh cilantro and queso fresco. Chips were thin and fresh. The mild salsa was our favorite with the green salsa a close second. Order at the counter, seat yourself and enjoy!

Great food, the meat was juicy, well cooked, and the corn tortilla complimented the flavor Service was quick and easy! They made our orders really fast. The inside is a no frills and casual spot for you to enjoy the food! Looking forward to trying other things.

Best quesabirria tacos we have had in STL. Staff very friendly - family owned and family recipe. Must try!

Pretty good! The agua Fresca was delicious! I got 3 tacos - the carne asada and Al pastor were delicious. The carnita was good but a little bland. The street corn was a little watery but had good flavor. The workers were extremely nice and our service was quick! Parking is easy with the lot in the back or across the street. It's very casual on the inside but clean!

First time here. Ordered to go. They were quick in getting my order ready. The street tacos are quite good! The hot sauces that are available all have quite a bit of zing and heat, which is good in my book. Just be cautious if you're not big on spice/heat. It a mostly a fast dining type experience in the sense that the dining area isn't very large. I will be back to try more items, maybe a burrito or quesadilla.

It's been a few weeks since I had any pocket cash to go out to eat... so I decided to pick a food…read moresource at random for a Saturday afternoon, and I'm SO GLAD I did... You know how they say one of the best things about Mexico is the food? I have to admit, I would honestly wouldn't know and just have to trust the stories I've heard, as I've never been lucky enough to go to Mexico.... But all my life I've heard stories about people who go and basically remind you.. NEVER hit a restaurant for _authentic_ Mexican food. You want to hit the street vendors. Well, St. Louis has a fantastic surprise.. Now you can do that right here in the city! Part of a three-restaurant set up, Amigo Sole is the "street vendor" restaurant that's not on the street. (And having met the owner of the full set-up, I'm REALLY hoping i get invited to the grand opening of Jekyll & Hyde) As it was middle of the day Saturday, I didn't ask for anything alcoholic (so i don't know if the reviewer that asked for alcoholic beverages and was told they didn't have any was just unlucky or if it was true.) But I'll take a Mexican Coke over American Coke any day of the week (NO, get your minds out of the gutter.. not that powdered one!). Anyway, I went simple for a quick stop, and went with the Chicken Bomb. at the recommendation of the cashier and he was quick to name this one off.. (and always remember cashiers, have a favorite READY, so thumbs up to the cashier on this one!) . And then to my amazement.. no more than 5 minutes later, HOT, tasty, cheesy, chicken quesadilla style BOMB-diggity! (Ironically this one is not listed on the website menu, only the instore menu? Come on Sole, online is everything today :) ) Absolutely delicious food.. and absolutely messy too, as it literally would fall apart in my hands.. (HEY, that's a good thing!) As for the decor.. 100% true, as Amigo Sole definitely has SOUL! (and lots of soles!). Again Amigo Sole isn't designed to be a 'great sit down' restaurant, it's designed to be street-vendor FUN!!!! and with what decoration they have, it pulls it off fantastically in my opinion. So just based on my meal, what the owner told me about the Amigo Sole, you're getting EXACTLY what you're promised a Mexican street vendor serving fantastic Mexican street vendor food, only with a roof over your head the entire time. During the meal, met again (Who i believe to be) the owner of the store and talked with him about Amigo Sole and how amazing it was to me... and he told me about the three-restaurant combination. (And I apologize sir, but I completely forgot your name when we talked!). even mentioning they share three kitchens when it gets busy (so I was kinda lucky as i think the rain scared everyone out for the day), but I'm still hoping for the Jeckyll & Hyde invitation! (I'll even pretend to find a date if I have to for the upscale part!)

When we walked in, the place was empty, besides the singular bartender standing behind the bar. She told us to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose a table near the bar. Then, she politely asked us to move to the bar. She apologized and said she was new and that she didn't know what was going on. We started with an order of chips and salsa and shared a mango margarita on the rocks. Let's just say our marg was missing the rocks. The bartender forgot to add ice, so our margita was warm. She gave us a cup of ice to pour in. The marg itself wasn't very strong and tasted pretty syrup-y. Although the chips and salsa only cost us $2.50, I probably could've gone without. I don't think I would've liked them even if they were complimentary. The salsa was decent, but the chips were saltless and flavorless. We ordered two tacos and the arroz con pollo plate. My tacos came out at different times. Both were tiny and disappointing. I had the Hemp Avenue taco and the Sarah Street taco. The black bean juice was everywhere. The tortillas were dry and fell apart. They brought out a quesadilla instead of our arroz con pollo plate. We were confused, but the bartender insisted the order was correct. Then, a few minutes later, the correct plate was brought out. I guess I can't be mad that we scored a free quesadilla. However, it was quite soggy and the cheese was almost a rubbery texture. While we were there, a DJ started playing. The volume of the music went back and forth between increasingly loud and extremely quiet. None of the other staff members acknowledged us whatsoever. It felt like we weren't even there. I hate sounding so pessimistic, so I will say two positive things: their outdoor patio looks like a fun spot in the summer, and I bet this would be a great option if you've been out partying all night and need some food in your belly. Overall a bizarre experience from start to finish!
