This was so good. A sweet-ish type dish. I call it breakfast dessert. Must try! Tuna sandwich. The tuna has a hint of lemon. It's a light tuna sandwich. Almost refreshing but that's a strange adjective to describe a tuna sandwich. Jamon buerre. I tend to have a ham sandwich craving. This confuses my husband when I ask for a ham sandwich. This is the ham sandwich I crave. It's not easy to find in our neck of the woods. Everything Cookie. A granola in cookie form. So unexpected. So addicting. We finished this in a blink. I recently ordered their country loaf and asked it was burnt. I was told that that was the way they always made it. It was almost impossible to slice - I had to saw it with my bread knife. No one should work that hard to slice a loaf of bread and, unfortunately, it also tasted burnt. It's going in the trash. The croissant wasn't too bad, but not something I would reorder. Lodge Bread Company has become our favorite breakfast spot whenever we visit Los Angeles. Their Big Breakfast Plate is a standout -- simple yet rich in flavor, with everything you need to start the day: farm-fresh eggs, smashed avocado, house-baked toast, and a fresh arugula salad. My husband especially enjoys the Breakfast Sandwich, though we recommend asking for light mayo or mayo on the side to keep it lighter. The coffee and tea selection is excellent, and their Cardamom Knot is truly the best we've ever had. Each visit, we make sure to pick up a Cardamom Knot and a Jewish bagel to take back to San Francisco with us. We love their Beverly Hills and Venice locations where the service also so welcoming. I've been to Lodge in Encino and tried out Culver City location last week. Ordered the pastrami sandwich and sourdough brioche muffin. The sandwich was very good. Flavor and stacked ingredients were delicious. However meat portion size was not excellent for the cost at $19. I would expect better. The brioche was amazing! This little guy was a wonderful surprise when I cut into it. So much stuffed inside I wasn't expecting. It was a last minute purchase while waiting at the register. So glad I got it. It was very filling and could only eat half. Totally shareable and my mother was excited for it. There is outdoor seating and picnic style lunch table on the sidewalk. Parking was easy on the street. I would definitely comeback for my favorite avocado toast. read more

This is our go-to spot on the West Side for a country loaf. The bread is high quality, though the crust doesn't have that crisp bite you'd expect from a great sourdough. I tried the Italian sandwich on my last visit and the flavor was excellent, driven mostly by the Calabrian chilis. The only downside is that the bread doesn't hold up to the sauce and toppings, so it starts getting soggy right away. Still, I'm excited to try the olive loaf next! read more

I freaking love bread. I would give up meat before I gave up bread. When you walk into the restaurant, the room is filled with the smell of freshly baked bread. My all-time favorite smell. Margherita pizza: The pizza is insanely thin and doughy and it's incredible!! The pizza is one of the best I've had and the dough is the star. They're not joking when it comes to bread because they've nailed it. I also got a seeded country loaf to take home since they're famous for their bread, but I didn't get to try it until the next day. The flavor was good, but the crust was insanely difficult to cut through. I don't think they expect you to finish a giant loaf of bread in one day, so I think the bread is supposed to be that hard. The outside was hard to chew as I just wanted to eat the inside. The service was spectacular! We get ours to go and they were all super nice and accommodating! I tried the culver location ages ago when I lived in the neighborhood and nothing I tried there left me coming back as a regular. thought it was alright and a decent place to pick up bread loaves but at a hefty price. We were in the area so we stopped for a quick bite. My other half got a turkey sandwich and I tried the vanilla concha. His sandwich was dry and basic af with nothing special about the bread and the vanilla concha tasted like it absorbed fabuloso/ scented cleaner smell. Super disappointing to pay that much for a concha in a city where you can get them all over the place for like $2... and then have it taste like cleaning solution. read more

I've been charging my car next to this place for a while, but always in the evening. I went around lunch time today, and discovered Lodge Bread because the other place I had in mind was closed. As the name implies they have lots of choices with bread. I did eye the Shakshuka for a bit but thinking it would be too heavy for lunch, I went for turkey sandwich instead, and an Arnold Palmer to wash it down. Cute spot, right off of Washington Blvd. Plenty of street parking. Great service, really friendly staff.. Seating is outdoors only, on the patio or sidewalk. Doable, but also a bit smelly... The food however, a bit disappointing.... Smoked salmon toast was a total miss! The bread was so hard we ended up not trying any of it. The salmon was the only good part, everything else remained on the plate, inedible, untouched. NOT worth it! Pass.. The Shashuka was good. Not the best I've had but good. A solid dish, made well, and served with soft olive bread. The pastries were decent. The chocolate chip cookie was a bit on the intense sugared side, but good. The sourdough croissant stole the show! Buttery, flaky, salty, and sweet. Best item on the menu. As for the drip coffee it was acidic. Nothing noteworthy or delicious. PASS I don't think I'll return. Unfortunately, Lodge Bread did not leave a good impression or taste in my mouth. With far better and more balanced options around, I don't find myself dreaming about this place, like, ever. This place is REALLY really good - the Shakshuka is my favorite but everything is delicious. The only thing I would NOT recommend is the huge cinnamon roll. It's not a roll, it's a loaf of bread with some cinnamon throughout, and while the frosting is delicious, the whole thing is a gimmick, in my opinion and not worth it. Conveniently within walking distance from my boyfriend's apartment, I love the cozy ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Jambon Beurre, which features French ham, Gruyere cheese, cultured butter, and Dijon mustard on a toasted baguette. My boyfriend went for the Breakfast Sammie, which includes toasted sourdough, farm eggs, cheddar, arugula, mayo, and bacon. Their bread is phenomenal--I can't wait to try everything on the menu. The service is excellent; they always check to make sure what I ordered tastes great. This place is adorable and offers plenty of outdoor seating. We ordered the cinnamon roll, the breakfast sandwich, shashuka, pepperoni pizza, and a mushroom pizza, and a mint tea lemonade. The cinnamon roll is the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. It's super soft, fluffy, and some parts on the bottom and sides are perfectly toasted with the caramelized sugar. I'm so full right now and I still want one more bite! My 1 year old kids crushed the breakfast sandwich (deconstructed). The eggs and sausage inside were perfect texture. The pizzas were delicious too. Lemonade was perfect. Not too sweet. This place will definitely be in my regular rotation. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is just because the ambiance isn't ideal. It's pretty casual and only outdoor seating. Great breakfast place with lots of bread selections! I didn't take photos of all the different types of bread. But after my friend and I had breakfast, I bought one baguette since I was already there. I have to admit that $7 for a baguette was kind of pricey. For breakfast, we both ordered the avocado toast with eggs, which was really delicious ! Our toast looked too pretty to eat! My friend got the cappuccino and I got the matcha :) ! I liked how this place has nice outdoor seating and heat lamps (which helped on a slightly chilly day like this particular Saturday). There is only street parking as well. But if you come pretty early, you can still find free or metered parking around the area. The food is kind of overpriced for what you get. But we wouldn't mind coming back just to try the salmon toast and their pizzas :) ! read more

Bread Lounge I love this place. I love the breads here especially the the sourdough bread. I come here almost every week to buy one or two loaves and some of our friends want us to buy them some. This is one of the best place to buy bread. And the price is reasonable, only thing is they don't have a lot of parking space. So if you like organic breads try it here. Solid bread, with the perfect crisp and chewiness expected of a freshly-baked loaf. My partner and I got the Lox toast and mushroom pizza, both with great bread serving as vessels for the rest of the ingredients. Lox toast was piled high with lox, capers, and onions, as well as cherry tomatoes, which were sweet, but I think they were good without. Mushroom pizza was very cheesy with a lovely, sharp bite; however, there wasn't much taste or texture to the mushrooms, which are supposed to be the star of the show. I have been going to Lodge Bread since they opened, the food is good and fresh, there are also desserts if you want a little snack for later. Now there was a time when no matter what they couldn't get a very simple order correct, and I don't know if it's the volume of people but it happened at least five times - I get the same order. There wasn't much apology from the HBIC (tall woman, steely gaze) - more annoyed if anything. Also they close at 4:00 pm, IMO they are missing out on the after work happy hour crowd by closing so early, they serve beer and wine too! There are other restaurants nearby that do stay open later but with the prices they charge, a happy hour would go along way and probably make them a lot of money... my two cents as someone who works in PR. read more

We dropped our canine family member, Pepper off at the groomers, few doors down, a found thus bakery/pizzeria/ sandwich shop. What a gem! This little bakery/bistro is a real delight. Delicious bread baked on premises. Pizza Napoli style. That Lady wanted a light bite and so we shared their salmon toast. Tasty! Being a true Neapolitano I went for an espresso, but not your regular shot, but their homemade espresso soda. What refreshing and tasty beverage! I gotta new passion. You can take back your NY Iced Coffee - this is coffee heaven, for an afternoon delight. The place is friendly and so are the patrons.
