Came I on Veterans Day Monday based in yelp reviews during our southbound US27 drive home from Orlando. The place is an actual log cabin and it was harming. The service was down home, accommodating and pleasant - I ordered the pulled pork with Mac and cheese and cole slaw, the wife got the half rack of ribs with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.. the pulled pork was lukewarm at best and the Mac and cheese was more than likely Kraft from a box. The ribs my wife had were good and the sauce was nice. Overall we left the place disappointed and chalked it up to another yelp over-reviewed place that didn't live up to expectations. Well, this was my second time here, not sure if there will be a third visit. Service was a bit slow, in her defense, I think she wasn't a seasoned server. The food... Some of it was good, the black eyed peas and green beans were extremely salty, but the Mac and cheese had no flavor! The country fried chicken was very thin and tasted like the oil it was fried in. Chopsteak was good. The open-face pork should never be topped with white gravy. We asked is the ribs were spare ribs or St Louis style. Our server didn't know... If you're not from the LaBelle area, this place may be off the beaten path. I can tell you that it's worth the drive on your quest for great barbecue. In Naples, I feel like the art of barbecue in a restaurant setting hasn't been the greatest of priorities; therefore, I recommend you take a trip across SR80 and meander into LaBelle. This place used to be called Log Cabin for years on in, and it shut down for a while. It now is under new and different management. We had a chance to talk to the owner and he definitely has his focus on customer service. There are two dining areas, and it would be nice to have a hosting/reception area instead of walking into someone's meal - but all in all, you experience the "log cabin" feel right from the getgo. They always have a free portion of their daily soup, which happened to be broccoli cheddar that day, and then there's always some free ice cream at the end of every meal. I have yet to veer off from their pulled pork, because it's consistently good....but I hear the ribs and fried chicken pretty amazing. We come for the corn nuggets and they automatically come with ranch dipping sauce. Their sweet tea comes in the most huge styrofoam cups and yes, you should judge your bbq restaurants on their sweet tea or if they even serve sweet tea. Fixing a crossed order by just giving us a couple of additional meals to go? Something didn't feel right. Our best guess was that if this was the start of an action / horror movie, the scene just after the free ice cream would have us waking up woozy somewhere in the Everglades with (option a) Samuel L. They do a bbq and hometown food. I was not sure what I wanted. So I ask my server. Andre I believe was her name(excellent job). Anyway she mention the owners had been fishermen in the Keys. And that she thought the scallops were the best. So we went with that. Saute. They were cooked to perfection with the right amount of garlic wine sauce. The restaurant was actually a real log cabin with different things hanging on the wall like a shark's head and an alligator head. The servers were so nice. It felt like a cafeteria at a summer camp but looks like all local people were patronizing the place because I overheard small talk. My husband and I ordered the same, chicken with mash potatoes. I have had BBQ all over the state and this place had the facade of a BBQ joint, but didn't deliver. Went with a friend of mine. I had the spareribs, grits and coleslaw. He had shredded beef, with Mac and cheese, and green beans. First, the portions are small to any place that serves BBQ. The meat had no smoke ring and a flat color to it. My ribs were a fight to pull off the bone. This is not BBQ, this is just cooking meat. They are rushing the process. The off color leads me to think they are pre-boiling their meat. The beans were dead in color and mushy. Looked like they came out of a can. The Mac and cheese was a very off-putting brownish-yellow. The grits are instant and the coleslaw was too bland for a sweet slaw, and dead in flavor to be a savory or vinegar-y slaw. The BBQ sauces were the best part of the meal and they were less than satisfactory. I feel bad for the people of Labelle. If this is what they consider good BBQ. They must not get out much. Any other BBQ place like Sonny's, Rib City, or Famous Daves would have far exceeded BBQ expectations. As far as how tough the ribs were. I am regretting not going to McD's and getting a McRib sandwich. Would get a 1-Star, but the waitresses were friendly and good customer interaction. So that recouped an extra star. read more

We were pleasantly surprised. 1st when they come out with a little Crabby Patty for the kids, and the kids go nuts, I appreciate that. We ordered a fried corn appetizer that is delicious! My wife ordered the Scallops and she has this thing where if the scallops don't "snap" when she bites into them, they aren't cooked right. Well, guess what, they snapped! Happy wife, happy life. Stopped for the first time, was really craving some bbq and figured after all the stars I would give it a go. I was surly disappointed as well as the group I was with, Mac and cheese tasted like nothing but boiled plain noodles it's looked like a creamy cheese sauce all over but delivered no taste. Ribs were tuff and disappointing baby backs were better, baked potato tasted and looked like it was cooked way to long completely dark in color tasting slightly burnt, black eye peas were bland, pulled pork was the best peace of meat we got along with the mashed potatoes which seemed to be made with real potatoes with gravy. Just ate there tonight, use to be fantastic. They must have changed ownership. Menu still says turkey for Wednesday, stated only Thanksgiving week. We order 2 brisket sandwiches, a brisket dinner and a quarter chicken dinner. The chicken was undercooked to the point it was raw and blood. I went to tell waitress and she said it was cooked for same time just smoked. Never looked at it,after a few minutes came to the table and still never looked at it and restarted her position. My friends husband said she'll get sick if she eates it. Offered to exchange for another chicken. Declined and then waitress raised her voice and told us we were disrespectful that's how it's done. Shortly the manager came and said don't disrespect us and stated it's cooked. Said she'd take off the bill. Bill came in less than a minute not removed. We stopped in at Log Cabib BBQ on way back to Ft Yers Beach. It had enogh room to not sit next to anyone. The waitress was very pleasant. We both had pulled pork , mine was a sandwich with 2 sides I chose the BBQ baked beans and asked if I could sub in mac and cheese as my 2nd side. Of course , she said. My wife had the pulled pork dinner with her 2 sides being the baked beans an Cole slaw. I ordered by phone was told to pick it up in 5-10 minutes and go through the drive through to get my food. I waited at the drive through window for 20 minutes not a single employee came over. I parked went inside to get my food and instead of the waitress helping me check out she decided to take a phone call. Finally got home to eat my food and my biscuits and gravy were burnt to a crisp. Absolutely disgusting and do not understand how anyone in there right mind thought that was okay to serve to someone. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Drove by this place on the way home from a swim meet...all I can say is WOW!!! The bbq was fantastic (we had pulled pork and brisket) and the homemade sides and desserts were out of this world. This place is a 45 minute drive from home, but we plan on going back because it is so worth the drive. My husband said it was the best meal he's had since we moved down in May.
