To add complexity, I'm newly postpartum and anxious about actually healing and supporting my body while not interfering with what my baby needs. So as a result, I've gone quite some time without being consistently active. Enter Forth. I joined at the end of 2025. I show up every day at noon, regardless of my physical or mental state, and I feel welcomed and supported. I recognize at least one person from prior classes or the neighborhood. I can take yoga or strength or Pilates without feeling frustrated or bored. I can make it home in time for my 1pm meetings. I always walk out stronger and a little more grounded than when I walked in and isn't that all any of us wants?

I've absolutely loved the strength, breathe, and restore classes, and one of my favorite parts is how every session begins with connection, chatting with someone new about the prompt our instructor gives us. It brings such a personal and thoughtful touch to the experience. I'll gladly continue supporting Forth and sharing what a special place it is. With that said, I wanted to offer a couple pieces of feedback for consideration: Cancellation window flexibility. The current 10-hour cancellation policy can feel a bit rigid in the midst of busy, unpredictable schedules. Things like sudden illness, car trouble, or a sick child can pop up unexpectedly. Reducing the window to a 2-hour notice period might make the policy more flexible while removing the need for members to email the team to explain last-minute cancellations. Blanket cleanliness. I recently noticed that one of the blankets had a strong body odor, and when I asked how often they're washed, the answer wasn't clear. It might help to increase the frequency of washing or communicate the current cleaning schedule. This small step could go a long way in maintaining the sense of calm and cleanliness that Forth is known for. Thank you for creating such a beautiful, inclusive space -- I truly appreciate the care and community Forth brings to every class.

Before we got started, Ashley took the time to walk us through some of the things that may happen during the experience and really made us feel comfortable. Once the it began, I felt so relaxed - almost like I was sleeping but I could hear her voice guiding me and bringing e back to the breathing. Overall it was a really relaxing experience, I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about trying pranayama.

We all had limited experience with breath work, mostly through yoga, but were curious to try it as a friend was telling me that it really helped her through some anxiety. Before the class we were sent an email with some basic "what to expect" information and when we arrived Ashley gave us time to ask questions and get settled in. We have done 2 sessions so far and each one was unique - I was actually pretty surprised at how much my body absorbed after just one lesson - things that felt strange quickly became familiar. The entire time Ashley guided us through the breath work, we all felt very safe and calm and once the meditation was done, we didn't feel rushed at all and every person had an opportunity to share. I highly recommend these sessions to anyone who is considering breath work.

It's a great setting for a range of interests, whether the goal is to have access to more secular meditation help or to practice more directly in a Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The founder and teacher are really intelligent about contextualizing practices and teachings for people who grew up in the west, so there's access to a really rich tradition but always with clear translation. The resident teacher has a phenomenal meditation background and a range of visiting teachers come through to give special programs. There are introductory workshops on a regular basis, and an introduction to the posture and basic meditation practice is always offered at the beginning of any session. I also liked the atmosphere here because I want to contribute financially and help out but am sometimes broke or strapped for time. The feel of the center is really open and there is never any pressure, so I am able to contribute when I can but never feel bad about how much to give or participate, so I can keep up a regular meditation practice throughout.

This workshop introduces you to the postures, breathing, and healing sounds of the body's meridians that correspond to each organ. We learned how this practice can help and alleviate illnesses of the different organs. Sifu/Dr. Torres explained how in Chinese Medicine each organ and sound correlates to the different seasons and and elements of nature. We also discussed the different positive and negative emotions associated with the organs, as well as, the different senses and tastes. He even discussed the different foods that can be eaten to nourish each organ. I always enjoy this workshop. This is my 3rd or 4th time attending, but every time I attend, I always learn something new and I enjoy being able to practice with other participants. If you are looking for a new type of meditation to add to your repertoire, then this is for you. I am hoping that Dr. Torres/Sifu Torres will continue offering this very beneficial workshop.
