It's okay food here. We had the traditional tasting menu. We found the smoked ham to be chewy. The sausage was good. The bread varied in freshness. Jams were fine. The wine was fine. At 36 euros, it was a let down.

    The "lunch" beer was HUGE!!!

They accommodated our group of 8 moving several tables together. Great service and we all enjoyed our food. I had the salad with jamon, figs, Gorgonzola and Carmelized pears. It was great! I also had a side of sweet potatoes with honey and rosemary. Our tour guide told us this was a great place for authentic Portuguese food that also had quick(er) service.

Christina is so fantastic. She talked us through our order helping us make some traditional Portuguese choices. She even brought my wife a blanket and taught us something about Portuguese food. All the food was delicious! We ordered several items for adults and kids. All loved it!

A little vinho verde and olives while people watching.

Very good meal. Sangria and cheese bruschetta was great and so was the soup. Would come here again and pricing wasn't too bad.

After that, a Port wine was presented to us as a special product, different from the regular commercial version, with explanations suggesting exclusivity and added value. Based on this presentation and the tourist context, a bottle was sold for 85 €. After the trip, I discovered that this Port corresponds to a clearly identifiable commercial product that is widely available elsewhere at a much lower price. I contacted the merchant to request clarification or a possible solution. Despite several polite exchanges, no objective or verifiable explanation was provided, and no reasonable solution was offered. The final response was dismissive. This review is not about taste or wine quality, but about pricing transparency and how the product was presented, especially to tourists. Travelers should ask very clear questions before purchasing.

My wife and I were passing the shop while in Cintra for the day, on our trip to Portugal. One look…read moreinside, and we knew we had found our special place for this trip. Walls were lined with bottles of Port wine in recent and ancient vintages. They advertised flights of Port and were set up to deliver at an eclectic variety of tables, high tops & in cozy corners. (Other varieties of Portugal's best, were available of course- Mediera, Ginha etc- but we were focused) Carlos was the very definition of a great sommelier, as he presented a selection of basic Ports for our edification! We learned the history of Port, the differences between varieties, vintages, Tawnys, Rubys, .... never knew of white Port!? It was all very delightful and informative (not to mention delicious) Carlos obviously loves his work & sharing his vast knowledge with like minded folks. Please don't miss this chance to get down and dirty with the family of Ports & take advantage of the fair prices and terrific selection to be found here in Cintra.

"All I want is to eat that arm." (Sci-Fi Film "District 9", not to be confused with Villa 6)…read more Tucked deep into the steep hills of Sintra, this cute little restaurant is staffed with welcoming servers who do not in the very least resemble alien prawns. Some stumble upon Villa 6 while snaking their way downhill from Pena Palace, and that would be the preferable way to arrive here. Walking uphill instead is a feat requiring an unhuman tolerance for endless steps that could lead to one chewing their arm off in a fit of insanity. On our way up, every time we reached the top of a set of stairs, magically a new set would appear that would wind in another direction up the hill. It was exactly like the stairs scene near the end of "The Labyrinth", except with no Bowie and no tights. After the long hike, the shaded tables on the cobblestone street at Villa 6 were a huge relief, and the blankets on each chair were a thoughtful touch for extra cushioning. The rap music played here didn't match the rest of the ambiance, but we oddly also noticed rap blasting at several other restaurants we visited in Portugal. Now Villa 6 does not serve arm, but it does offer tasty tapas and traditional Portuguese dishes like bacalhau and bifana, sandwiches made with pork marinated in white wine, garlic, and paprika. We began our meal with some bacalhau codfish fritter appetizers, and they were perfect--crispy on the outside; creamy on the inside. Delicious! This was followed by a hearty pork loin bifana sans mustard. The meat was tender, flavorful, and precisely the fuel needed to take on another 100,000 hidden steps! Prices: Quite reasonable! 5 Euro for a bifana is a great deal! Worthy a rating of 4.5 cod balls. Ambiance: Solid rap playlist for lowkey creating a gangsta video to send to your friends back home. 4 record scratches! Food: I thoroughly enjoyed my bifana and the fritters! 4.8 Prawn sonic blasters! Ability to reach the restaurant: George Tsoukalos would say there was alien involvement regarding the steps. Negative 5,000 Overall Villa 6 is a wonderful spot to enjoy traditional Portuguese food before or after exploring the castles of Sintra. I give it 4.4 stars.
