DO NOT HIRE! We hired Benjamin Mark of PECO Arts, reviewed the project, negotiated the rate,…read moreexecuted a contract and paid the first 50% on March 1st. Benjamin stated that he needed a couple of days to wrap up another project, which we agreed was fine based on our project timeline. We needed to purchase some additional software and get Benjamin set-up so that he could access the project properly. We checked in with him 6 days later to make sure everything was going smoothly and it turned out he still hadn't even begun the work yet, as he required some additional credentials. That said, however, we shouldn't have had to chase after him only to discover that the work hadn't even been started. On March 12th we checked in again, and received a "I'm not as far as I'd like to be, and that's on me..." When we checked the work logs it turned out he still hadn't even started the work, with the deadline just 3 days away. When we responded to express concern at a lack of progress and about, now, having to rush the work (which would likely result in the work not being as done as carefully as it should, and possibly leading to more of a likelihood for mistakes) we received a curt response, two days before our deadline, abruptly breaking the contract and leaving us in the lurch. We are told that our money will be refunded, but that, at this point, doesn't help that we have lost precious time and will now miss the deadline. This is thoroughly unprofessional, unreliable and dishonest behavior. Three of the cornerstone characteristics anyone would expect from someone doing accounting work.
