I am very impressed with the level of knowledge that the trainers have. I play ice hockey and didn't think Pilates would help me on the ice. At first I just went to stay in shape, but it really did help my game a lot. The trainers there will train you in English or in German which was a huge factor for me since I'm still mastering German. Another big point for me was the cost. Considering the expertise of the trainers I think I am getting a really great deal and even saved more when I bought a 10-pack. But they also have classes that are much cheaper, or one can arrange for a duo or a trio which can also save some cash. For me, one on one is the best. My trainer constantly talks and makes adjustments to my form to maximize my workout. The atmosphere is great. Renovated studio space with changing rooms and a beautiful shower. Pilates really sets itself apart from other exercises because of the attention to detail. The trainers all have to pass anatomy courses and really understand the human body. I've seen other clients there who have serious physical issues who make dramatic positive strides through Pilates. I would recommend Pilates at Senso Studio for anyone, but especially those who are bored of gyms or might have posture, circulation, back or neck issues. One trainer told me she is even certified to train post and prenatal clients. Cool! Check out Senso!

I had emailed ahead of time to see if any of the classes were taught in English. Even though the classes are not typically taught in English, there are instructors there who speak English. I took a class with Elena and she was kind enough to take the challenge to teach the class both in English AND German (not an easy task!). The owners Jon and Isabel are incredibly kind and helpful. The studio itself is very clean, well organized and beautiful. I am so grateful to find such wonderful pilates studios in the community. When I visit Berlin I will most definitely come back to this studio!

There were two instructors in class, with one adjusting. I've never taken a Bikram class with this level of attention (ah, German engineering at it's finest) and I feel like this class alone was a booster pack to my entire decade + long practice. If your idea of relaxation is torturesome detoxification, then I strongly recommend a grueling session at Yoga and More. (the relaxation is the reward). The studio itself is beautiful and the heated room has hardwood floors which is always preferential to carpet. 10 Euro for 10 classes intro special makes even one class cost effective.

It also offers physio, massage, osteopathy and other various treatments. I come here for Pilates which is also subsidised by my health insurance. The class is very friendly. Great teacher. Always come away feeling much better than when I went in so can't be too bad. I like that it's small and less intimidating lol. I can really just amble my way through the class without feeling like a complete unfit freak. It also has a little workout gym where you can pay I think €7 for the week. In that week you can go as often as you like so quite good for those of us who have all joined a gym, been once and spend the next two years trying to get out the contract ;)

I find FitX gyms in Berlin to be the worst I've ever been to. The staff are not particularly…read morehelpful or friendly from my experiences. When you first sign up, no one really shows you around the place or shows you how to use any of the equipment. They just want you're money and don't care about members at all. The women's lounge is extremely small. The gym is very crowded. Bathrooms are not very hygienic. There is hair and dust everywhere. It's communal showering as well. Classes are limited and for some classes it's simply just a video that they play on the big screen - I could do the same in the comfort of my own lounge room for free. Also, classes with a real instructor are usually quite full so the instructors are not able to correct you if you are not performing the exercise correctly to really benefit from your work out. FitX gyms do not have air conditioning. And when the weather is cooler, their heating is turned up very high. The contract renews automatically each year and if you want to cancel, you have to do it 3 months prior. To cancel straight away, you have to prove that you moved out of the city. At least that was the case when I was a member. The customer service number of FitX is also not great. The customer service staff at FitX are not very understanding at all. They're simply brainless robots following what's written on a piece of paper without any empathy or understanding for the members at all. At times they are also quite simply rude. Oh and if you've changed addresses and apparently updated that information in the online members area, and you don't receive an invoice from them in the post, then expect to receive a letter from debt collection with added costs. Because apparently, they don't believe in trying to reach you by email (if postal services seemed to have failed them). If you need to work out cheaply use the money and invest in your own weights and equipment. There are plenty of free youtube workout videos online that only uses your own body weight. I personally like Fitness Blender. There is nothing at FitX that you can't already do on your own at home or in a park. FitX just doesn't care about you as a member at all. They don't care about your fitness goals, whether you reach them or not. It's the absolute bare minimal type of gym and honestly I would much rather take my money elsewhere. I do not recommend this gym at all.

All the equipment and facilities look really modern and well-maintained -- no "out of order" signs in sight! The layout is a bit better at this location than the Alexanderplatz one as it is more spread out and logical (changing rooms and lounge are right by the entrance instead of tucked away at the back of the gym). Similar to the Alex location, the "lady gym" is very commendable -- it is equipped with a squat rack and plenty of free weights. As for courses, they have the same timetable at every location, and while I have not really been a fan of the courses so far (yogalates was too boring and slow, cycling had a bad instructor, HIX was pretty good), I think that could probably be just an issue of personal taste. Anyway, this is a great gym to go to if you live in Berlin and don't want to spend a lot on your gym membership!
