Wowza. Definitely the best meal I had in Puerto Rico, and quite potentially one of the best meals I've had in my life. Salmon sashimi on the plaintain chip was a good appetizer, although I do think that the plantain was a bit large and overshadowed the fish. But the tuna tartar taquitos were out of this world! So flavorful that my husband and I were fighting over who would get the last one. Had the grilled salmon as a main dish, and although the menu didn't quite sell me on the cucumber broth the fish was sitting in, I have to say that it tasted absurdly delicious. The crispy taro cake was a perfect texture complement to the dish. Our server was fantastic, and recommended several of the dishes that we ordered. When debating dessert he insisted that the corn cake was the best they had. I wasn't really sold with the menu description again, but holy smokes, this thing was excellent. Can't say enough good things about the food at Lola. If I lived nearby, I'd probably be there frequently.

Great place! Probably shouldn't have dressed more formally, but I couldn't care less while being on an island ‍ Place : situated in a hotel, this place is super nice. After eating locally at shacks for the past few days, an upscale restaurant was nice. The vibe is chill, and they're playing good sober music. I loved the layout of the restaurant. Food : we got the ahi tuna appetizer with sesame biscuits which was just amazing! Super juicy, and the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. I got the Chicken stuffed with Parmesan, which was probably a poor choice of food. It wasn't too bad, but I guess I wasn't in the mood for Italian. The chicken was moist, and well cooked. My boyfriend got the vegan oriental fried rice which was incredibly yum! I might have had more of his food than my own haha. Definitely a try in Ponce! I would return.

The food was excellent. We started with the Naan pear balsamic appetizer. Then, I had the salmon, and my wife had the chicken pasta for our dinners. We finished off with a fried corn cake with a dollop of ice cream. From start to finish, the food and great service provided by Jaime made us very happy that we chose to have dinner at Lola in Ponce.

The best meal my husband and I have had in Puerto Rico so far. Our server gave us great recommendations. I ordered the duck confit appetizer and the sea bass over risotto. Both were delicious. Swanky interior as well!

Me and my husband wanted to start the night at Lola's. After reading the reviews we knew drinks were good and food was ok so we went to grab drinks and maybe some appetizers. Our server Ruth helped us with drinks - our Spanish was enough for her to understand us and her English was enough for us to understand her. Beside the communication barrier she guided us through the menu and even mentioned the octopus - which was off menu the day we went. Because we loved the drinks she prepared and the octopus was amazing we decided to order more food. Raul helped us with the food and his English was very good. We had the salad and the duck and they were both very good! After that we had dessert - cheesecake lollipops (they were ok) and pistachio creme brule (we loved!) Overall very good experience! Nice environment and friendly staff. Ruth is an amazing bar tender!

Absolutely AMAZING Honestly one of our best finds ever! Amazing food , amazing service and absolutely beautiful place!

    Ceviche

The food here is excellent. Possibly the best ceviche I have ever had. Piña colada was perfect. The three taco appetizer was so well done I might cry. The service is attentive but not intrusive. I would have given it five stars if not for the front door staff. The woman at the front door looked me up and down and seemed to disapprove of my outfit. I'm a tourist in Tevas and cut off shorts, I get it. I would have let it slide if not right behind me a younger, thinner woman in shredded jeans and sneakers didn't walk in and not get a second glance. Do better, Lola.

    Ahi Tuna

This place is a must if you are in Ponce. The food was really good, the place had a nice vibe and the price was very reasonable. Big shout out to our server Raul who assisted in helping narrowing down my selection. For appetizers we had the Salmon Arañitas Sashimi and the Bocaditos Crujientes de Porkbelly. For Main Course we had The Filete Dorado with mampostero Rice also the Ahi Tuna. And the grand finale we had the flank de cafe. This place is a MUST!!!!!!

    Carnitas Mac and cheese

Lovely little restaurant tucked inside the Ponce Hotel. The menu is really what drew us here. I love an empanada but after days or fried foods here in PR this menu was a welcome change. I ordered the house cocktail a martini with passion fruit and it was so lovely. Also had a glass of the house Pinot Noir. Husband had Mac and cheese with carnitas and I ordered the ribeye. I had the chorizo risotto as a side which sounded better than it tasted. Still my steak was HUGE and perfectly prepared. Both meals were delish and enough for 2 ppl. recommended if you're in the area.

We visited on a Monday night without a reservation and almost didn't get a table. The hostess was incredibly kind and explained that there was an 8:00 p.m. reservation that hadn't been confirmed. She offered to seat us if the party didn't arrive within the grace period. Thankfully, they never showed up, and the table became ours. From that point on, everything was fantastic. The food was spectacular, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is charming and inviting--it really does feel like dining in a cozy "casita." If you're visiting San Juan, Casita Miramar is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience.

When the Churrasco Mofongo ($27.99) finally came out, the portion size was surprisingly small and did not reflect the price at all. For nearly $28, I expected a much more substantial serving and better overall value. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I also ordered four pastelitos at $2.99 each, and those ended up providing more food and better value than the $27.99 Churrasco Mofongo. It's hard to justify paying nearly $28 for an entrée when a few appetizers totaling less than half the price leave you feeling like you received more for your money. To make matters worse, the staff was largely inattentive throughout the visit. It was difficult to get anyone's attention, there were no updates regarding the long wait, and customer service felt like an afterthought, only because the question "Can I have an update on my order" was asked to the staff. A 44-minute wait can be understandable during busy times, but keeping customers informed goes a long way, especially when multiple families sat, ate, and left before receiving the order. Overall, despite the churrasco mofongo tasting really good, between the excessive wait time, the lack of attentiveness from staff, and the disappointing portion size, I left feeling that the meal was not worth the price. I hope management takes a closer look at both the service and the value being provided to customers.

This place is right on the main highway, it's huge and packed so plan accordingly: we arrived before noon on a Friday, so we probably got one of the last parking spots (there's a guy managing or charging in the parking lot? not sure) and the line was manageable. A large group and some buses showed up after us, so it got really crowded! Anyway, we had a short line, had no idea what we were doing to order (I should have researched better) but pointed and nodded, and with some help from the nice people in line, ended up with two huge platters of pork, rice and some other sides - way more food that we probably needed. The food: delicious! I would say our #2 favorite meal in Puerto Rico, after Marmalade (but that was more than 10x the price!) The pork was delicious, juicy, flavorful, and the crackling was to die for! I wish they would package those and sell them - probably only good fresh, though. Rice and sides were adequate: my son tried to be healthy and said the salad and potatoes were ok, but you're really there for the pork. Cost etc.: we paid less than $50 for 2 enormous plates of food and some sodas. It was enough for 3 lunch servings, plus enough leftovers for 2 people to have the rest for dinner - so I guess 5 servings? The wait was not bad early on a weekday, but they must get incredibly overrun on weekends. It is entertaining to see the pork cooking on a spit (please don't come if you are vegetarian and sensitive to such things) and watch them hacking away with machetes. My husband wondered if the machetes are the same once used for sugar cane!

This restaurant is just one of many open-air roadside spots that serve lechón along "La Ruta del Lechón", aka the "pork highway" in Guavate. We got a half pound of lechon along with Mamposteao, which was delicious and filling. The pork skin hit a level of shatteringly crispy texture that I have never had from non-fried pork skin. We came later in the day, which unfortunately meant that the pork was slightly dried out. However, the texture and flavor of the lechón was absoutely delicious. It's a "build your own box" style restaurant where you choose which sides you want on the dipslay. Besides the mamposteao there were also other delicious-looking sides such as plantains/mofongo, beans, fruit, etc. There's a small parking lot outside the restaurant- one where the rule is you can only back your car into your parking space. Interesting. Would definetely come to try lechón here again!

The beef was seasoned well with hints of herbal seasonings. It came with a little pepper sauce that wasn't just spicy but had like a sweet pepper and chives flavor as well. Baked pork ribs- got this with the white rice and beans. The beans was well seasoned and tasted really good. The rice was cooked well and with some salt where it's not too much but you can taste a hint of it with every bite. The pork was disappointingly dry. It had a nice flavor almost like smoked but too dry and hard. Fried snapper- this took the cake. It was cooked to perfection where it wasn't dry but soft and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It came with a nice tasting garlic sauce but honestly the sauce over powers the herbal flavor of the fish. Fried cod fish- this was a no no. It was fried like a chip but tasted like oil.
