I've been exposed to the Lollicup on Colorado Blvd so this one falls behind that one. They both have equal stars because this one is MUCH more convenient for me to go to. Federal has traffic but not as annoying and hair tugging as the one on Colorado Blvd. The one on Co Blvd, while there are rare occasions of rude cashiers, this one is very helpful and friendly. Whether it be the man with the mustache or the girl with nice hair and wicked circle lenses. Also, it's in that little strip, so you can grab a bowl of pho at Pho 95 for lunch, Be Le Sandwhich for a "later on" snack, shop a little at Sky Nail Supply and end it with a cup of boba or frozen yogurt. I order a royal milk tea with pudding. The pudding taste like something out of plastic . I had to spit it out when I was drinking it.

This is the worst boba shop I've ever been to. I've been to other lollicups, so I know its not the brand, its the people and their lack of following franchise rules... The black milk tea (royal milk tea) was very watered down, probably in an effort to save $$, but it tasted like crap. Also the cup was primarily ice and very little boba and beverage. The boba was too hard. As someone who has made boba in a tea shop before, here are the 3 main reasons why it might have sucked: 1. They used day old or too old boba in an effort to yet again save $$ 2. It was under cooked. 3. They used too much sugar which causes overly gummy, blown out exterior, and very hard interior. No matter the reason, it was yucky! I love denver, but the more I eat/experience my way through this city, the more I miss san diego. It's impossible to find great mexican food, BBq, boba, or eyebrow threading here... Ok on the plus side, this is located in an ethnic corner of denver where a ton pf asian shops are located. They have a small retail selection of very hard to find imported asian treats, that alone may be worth giving it another try if I'm in the area. read more

I go in and am not greeted. Instead, this chick (who obviously does not like working with her dad or what ever) just tells me rudely what I want. Having hope, I ordered the Royal Milk Tea. WTH. Old, floppy, tasteless pearls. It tasted like it was saved for several days...I think some of this was growing something... Royal milk tea tastes like dirty socks. Seriously. Believe me when I say this, don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT COME AND ORDER. Nothing like what I have seen before, there was CDs, DVDs, clothing, food, and everything else in between in here. What is up with this place? Not exactly cheap, but the best boba smoothie I've had. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood! I had a mango smoothie and my friend had a coffee smoothie. We both had boba balls and they were chewy, not frozen. But, it was around $9 for the 2 drinks, so a little pricey. read more

This place kicks ass! We just moved here from Highlands (I will miss you) and were exploring our new stomping grounds, when I remembered this place from the dragon boat festival. I had a rose green tea with boba, the hubby a passion fruit slush with boba. Both were very tasty, mine was better of course. We had our 10 month old son and the very nice lady behind the counter gave us some extra boba for him after she heard me mention how much he liked it. Very sweet and very cool! This location should be shut down. Dirty inside that looks like a convince store rather than a boba place.. Awful customer service and they made me the wrong drink. Walked in and asked for a pumpkin vanilla and watched the women look for the pumpkin sauce but never found it. I used to go to the Lollicup on Ward back in high school...I was craving a coconut snow bad and made my way to that location only to find that they had closed (apparently some time ago). I went home sad and craving my little boba-filled slice of heaven. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the bf and I are having lunch in the S. Fed area on a Sunday. As we are waiting for our check, I do a little Yelping and see the name that used to make the butterflies start up in my stomach. That was it...I was on a mission and nothing was going to stop me. We drove by the location twice looking for it...I am not sure how we missed it, but we ended up parking on the other end of the lot and walking. (This looks like a good time to mention that the parking lot is a DEATH TRAP on Sundays...ok I mentioned it...moving on). Once inside I was completely taken aback. It looked absolutely nothing like the Lollicup I remembered...and I liked it. It had a very homey kind of feel to it and the employees were really friendly. There was quite a line when we came and the employees kept apologizing for the wait. I didn't mind, I knew that I would be tasting sweet victory soon. What does sweet victory taste like, my friends? Sadly disappointing, particularly in comparison to the Lollicup on Colorado over by DU. I mean, yes, this one has less tweens and teeny boppers, and does offer an awesome selection of Mochi goodness for sale, but that's pretty much all they have going for them. I found the counter man rude, their list of flavor options to be incredibly small (again, compared to the other Lollicup), and in the 3 times I've been there, I've been given the wrong order twice. Pumpkin spice is not supposed to be WHITE. Seriously, I have no idea what flavor that even turned out to be. Yes, it is closer to my work (and technically, home), and yes, it is nearer to delicious Pho. However, I'd rather drive to I-25 and Colorado for the better service, better options and the higher likelihood that my order will be correct. read more

When I first discovered boba tea by a friend while on a trip to Houston I fell in love with it! Although the boba tea here is not as homemade as the drink I had in Houston or the restaurant that was here in the Lollicup space before it is still an excellent place to go to get my boba fix. I love their variety of flavors and certainly have no plans in not going back despite the origin of where this place's drinks come from.(which appears to be made from powder as opposed to the real fruit and such) read more

This Lollicup has a less inviting interior and seemingly less flavors than the S Colorado location, but they have a bigger selection of tasty food treats and also frozen yogurt with toppings that's sold by the ounce!! The yogurt flavors included red bean, mango, taro, and vanilla - E got mango and vanilla. It was delicious! Toppings included candies, coconut, mochi, and jellies - E got taro jelly. Hmm. He liked it; me, not so much. Still, it was cool to have the cool flavors and toppings. the vanilla was yummy. Instead of trying to taste like ice cream (ick) it tasted like what it was - frozen vanilla yogurt. Our bobas were great, if a little excessive on top of our Pho 95 pig-out. When it comes to Asian food the good places oddly seem to spend so much time on the cuisine that the interior of the restaurant is lacking. It's almost as if a super shiny new restaurant, is there to distract you from the food... This place is very spacious and yet falls under the first category. For no apparent reason it just feels a little sketchy, but makes up for it with fun idiosyncrasies such as Asian dvds and children's outfits or miscellaneous hello kitty candies. The boba tea comes in a plethora of flavors and two different consistencies. I usually get the snow because it's creamier and smoother rather than the icy slush. The Kiwi is by far my favorite and you get the choice of with the tapioca balls or without. I'm not all about the balls... Lolli-cup also has frozen yogurt, but the plain just tastes like yogurt and there aren't very many choices. However, the passion fruit is amazing and you get to add your own toppings! I know lots of people like lollicup in California so I was kind of happy to see it in Denver so I could try it. I normally go somewhere else when I'm in California. And now I know to just stay away from lollicup. I got the royal milk tea with boba. I think they use some sort of sweet n low sweetener, it has that weird after taste. The boba was okay, but still a little harder than what I'm use to. Overall, I wasn't happy with the taste but I didn't think it terrible enough for me to not drink the whole thing. I was however disappointed cause the person never asked if I wanted a small or large and just made a large and charged for a large? My husband and I got lychee snow with bobas and mango snow with bobas and lychee jellies. It was absolutely fantastic! I don't know why people complain about business owners at a boba tea establishment sitting on a chair watching a television as long as they are helpful and serve you. This is obviously a family establishment and what people don't realize are the owners are most likely there from open to close. They have all the right in the world to sit on a stool and watch television if other staff are helping you. Also people complain about it looking like a convenience store when it absolutely does not. I'm definitely a regular here now. I have found my drink here finally! Taro snow with half boba and half lychee jelly. Large. Prices went up by a quarter now so it's $4.25. I wish it was half the price. But then I would prob come more often. The owners are friendly and they seem like hard workers. They're there every single day and they're open 11-12 hours a day. I've been to many lollicups in California and now here in Colorado. I was quite happy when I found out there's a lollicup here!! I personally like this place a lot better then the other lollicup. Yes. The place might be a not "quiet" but honestly. The fact that they use real fruits for a lot of their drinks are great!! I love their avocado smoothie! Very well mix. Nice and concentrated in flavors. I tried their jackfruits. Which I was disappointed. But! Again. Real fruits! The couple are nice as well. I want to try all their real fruits flavors eventually. I've been to several Lollicups and love the beverage selection they offer. This one I give 5 stars for friendliness and service. I'm giving it 3 stars because it is hard to stay in there very long because it smells bad & it's very pungent upon walking in. Maybe I'm biased, but I think the one in Arvada beats the pants off of this one. And it really has nothing to do with the fact that the one in Denver is more Asian style than the other one, it's just that as soon as you walk into the Arvada one you can't help but smile and feel a little better because everything is fluorescent yellow and orange, and there are smiley suns everywhere you look. Notice that this one still got four stars. That aside, this location is a neat spot also. We used to stop here when JJ's was a hop skip and jump next door. I like their strawberry yogurt flavor (which they don't have at the one in Arvada) and different jellies coconut, lychee, and multi I think (as in the little cubes of gelatin that are flavored). They also have a few baked goods and other snackies at the counter which I think included spring rolls the last time we were in and a large display of foreign films (if I remember correctly Vietnamese?). Based on quality alone, this Lollicup easily outperforms the location on Colorado Blvd. I had the Jackfruit snow with boba - it was delightful. Made from real jackfruit, the shake had a subtle sweetness to it that kept the beverage refreshing. The boba wasn't overly sweet, making a great textural addition. My wife got the taro snow, which was perfect. It was smooth, milky, with a deep, mellow, yet powerful foundation of taro flavor. The last few times we've had the taro at Colo Blvd, the shake has been overly icy, and painfully sweet. My gosh, how a place can disappoint me so utterly is beyond me. Having come from California and had boba from the Orange County to San Francisco, I would like to think that I know good boba when I taste it. Unfortunately, this story is not about the best. It's about the absolute worst. I stopped in on a Sunday evening trying to get something to compliment the Vietnamese sandwiches I just picked up. "Oh lollicup, they have those in SoCal! This one can only be so different!" And boy did I have to eat (or drink, I guess) those words up. I walked in and was greeted with an uninviting atmosphere. That's okay, I reasoned, never judge a book by its cover. I order a taro milk tea sans boba. There's only so much they can mess up with that one, I thought to myself. I punch a straw through the top, take one sip, nearly gag, and threw the rest away. It was watered down, and it was gritty. GRITTY TARO MILK TEA. I can only imagine there to be a handful of ingredients, so I'm surprised that anyone who's gotten fancier than that had themselves a good experience... I've vowed to never have boba in Colorado again cuz of this lolly. I walked out 3 bucks lighter, and a whole world of jaded. I guess I'll just have to wait till my next trip back to California to have some real boba. read more

I was so happy to find out there was a lollicup near my house, until I entered and tried it. I used to live be the one on Colorado and loved everything about it, the atmosphere and the delicious drinks. So when I happened by the one on federal, I was so happy. I decided to stop a few days later. I ordered a large almond milk tea with boba, hot. I received a small almond milk tea with maybe 5 boba and it was Luke warm at best, more like room temperature. I will not be going back there again. The appearance was not very nice either. Old ice cream machines sitting around. It needs to be cleaned up. read more
