Later, I found out my paperwork had actually been overlooked and left pending for months, meaning the portal was inaccurate. Rather than taking accountability, I was reprimanded for not contacting them sooner. It's frustrating to be blamed for their oversight, especially when you're doing your part and following the system as instructed.

As soon as my baby was put down he grabbed a toy and straight to the mouth. I wasn't sure how often toys are sanitized. The fourth day he didn't make it, I let them know that he got super sick. That was my first red flag already, I was upset he got sick the first 3 days been there. Fine ,kept him home for 2weeks until he had no symptoms. Fast forward to yesterday 02/02/2026 I drop him off with no symptoms AT ALL. Only thing was a bit of diarrhea but that was caused due to the medication he was on for been so sick. Around 9-10 Am staff started to message me that he was not participating and couldn't be redirected (what do you want a 7month old to do) ,,, and that he wasn't eating. That he only wanted to be held . I thought ok maybe still early he doesn't have an appetite. Around 11 Am the site supervisor messages me and insist that I have to pick him up because he IS CRYING ! He's not sick or nothing but pick him up because he's CRYING! I couldn't believe that was the reason they wanted me to pick him up. That was another red flag ,,, you are the professional and can't deal with a crying 7month old,, he's teething and he's just a baby obviously he's going to cry. That already told me that you can't handle my baby. I get to the center and he was fine no crying he seemed happy chewing on a toy (again cus he's teething) . He's eyes weren't even red or showing any signs that he had been crying. At this point I was very upset and frustrated , mad and felt discriminated. I got my baby and told the aide I'm taking all his belongings because HE IS NOT RETURNING to this center after how things were handled. Help me understand again you insisted him to be picked up because HE WAS CRYING ????????? Make that make sense ?? So with that been said I DO NOT recommend this place and I hope no other mom feels the way I felt yesterday. I felt horrible at this point I don't know what was happening to my son in there, why he didn't want to eat and why he kept crying like they say he was... THEY PICTURE PERFECT EVEYTHING DURING THE WALK !!! I spoke to other families and they share similar stories of their little ones always getting sick!! Then I noticed they didn't have coffee & conversation in the morning, no consistency in a exercise classes, slowly taking things away. I discovered the senior center buidling was sold to Department of Recreation & Parks. Some of the Activities were taken away like Line dancing is now at the Able Maldonado building with a fee. Then the SeniorCenter had a afternoon exercise class for 18-49..nobody over 50 is allowed to take the class!!! The senior center is now saying it's open in the late afternoon for 18 & over but you can't take the class if you over 50 ! What? Some activities are P&R's the other activities for instance travel is still at the Elwin Senior Center. I know it's confusing!! A lot of cut backs in the past few years. Even the lobby is like a ghost lobby they moved all the couches & chairs we use to sit on out of the way. Receptionist would say hello but now it's crickets!! Rumors has it's they rent it out for parties$$$$. So I guess seniors don't count but the grants for the teens are a priority. Very disappointed!
