They said I'd already picked up the other body which is not true. They said they'd call back and when they hadn't by 3:45 I called them today but got an out of office reply stating the office was now closed (the times are meant to be 10-4)

Staff pride themselves on the advice that they can give and they really do seem to know their stuff. They're happy for you to handle cameras and will not try to push you into a purchase that you're not happy with. They're happy for you to go away. A wide range of makes are stocked. New and secondhand models are available. The shop carries a huge range of accessories for photographers from bags to lenses, metres to tripods, albums to frames. Prices are competative. There's a photo processing service which offers excellent results although it will cost you more than the main chains. The shop itself is old, cluttered and dark. It feels like it should though! I'd recommend Harpers and their service without hesitation.

They have a good selection of digital cameras and accessories, binoculars and digital radios. It's also useful when you want to print out your digital photos. I still have an old 35mm camera and thankfully they still film for my trusted camera. I never had any problems with anything I bought from them. I know they are a bit more expensive than shopping online, but their advice and the fact that I can have a look at what I'm buying is worth the extra money. And after all, I'm supporting my local high street!

Came here looking for some 120 color film for an old camera I got at a flea market. They sell 120…read morefilm in color and b&w and in singles (~£6) or packs of 5. The women at the front desk were super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. NOTE: it is hard to find if you're not looking carefully! The main sign out front says PhotoFusion (see pic) for another business on the same floor. There is a tiny buzzer for Parallax on the wall (pic). Ring that and go to the second floor!
