Lone Star was the only company that didn't charge us until the job was finished. His crew came on time, worked diligently and professionally through the Texas heat. Dan came to check on the crew in the mornings to give them instructions. He always answered my calls and questions promptly. The fence is now finished and we couldn't be happier. BEWARE OF LONESTAR FENCE AND CONSTRUCTION company in League City Texas. We contracted with them to have a wood priva fence rebuilt, including all new posts. While most of the fence is good, there are many brand new pickets that are split and the quality of the workmanship on the gate is far from acceptable. (I'll try to add a photo of the gate after this review). Multiple emails, text messages, phone calls to Lonestar Fence and Construction over multiple weeks have been ignored. A final walkthrough has not been performed. When they finished construction, one of the partners went through our neighbor's yard to jump the fence and find me in the backyard. I knew they were coming by that same day of completion to collect but never furnished a time. My comments about the quality of the workmanship to one of the partners were ignored. read more

His crew wascourteous, and did a great job cleaning up the old fence, removing the tree debris, and installing a beautiful straight strong fence, and larger front gate. My husband and I are extremely happy with our security gate and fence. It is beautiful and so well designed and constructed. It really does give us peace of mind at night and while we are away. After having a couple of other guys here to look, Dan was by far the one with the knowledge and expertise to do the work. He explained as well as drew his plan out for us. Used this company 4.5 years ago to replace part of our fence and the neighbors fence. Their posts are cracked after just 4.5 years. My original 14 year old fence is still standing with no cracks. They have a 5 Year Warranty on workmanship but claim it's the flower bed that caused the damage. Only 1 post is in a flower bed. They replaced 9 on my neighbors and 4 on ours. It's just bad work! This review is based on the initial interactions only with this company. I chose this company because they offered certain options I wanted like 6x6 Gate Posts and powedercoat over galvanized finish. It started out well enough. I called with enough detail to be given a quote over the phone. I then scheduled on on-site visit so measurements could be taken and a revised quote issued. The on-site visit took place as scheduled (huge plus) and I was told the revised quote would be less than the over-the-phone quote. From this point, my experience began to get frustrating. The quote was not issued by the date stated. I understand that the construction business is very dynamic, and sometimes things are late. Unfortunately, the revised quote was not given on the next few stated dates. At this point, the person I spoke to became increasingly difficult to reach. All calls went voicemail, emails were unanswered, and Facebook messages were unanswered. An email finally came through stating the person I spoke to was out of town (should have made that known in the voicemail recording), and when the quote finally came through, it was actually higher than what was proposed over the phone due to an increase in steel prices. The whole experience left me uneasy and I went elsewhere. read more

I spoke with Steve and within about 1 day he arrived at our house to consult with me about our objectives, location of gates, linear feet and discuss a plan for addressing how to get the fence up our retaining wall. He generated an initial bid that was inline with his competitors using high quality, powder coated steel fencing with a 20 year warranty. We awarded the project to him because he is insured, knowledgeable and required payment once the job was complete. Our project was 220 ft connecting the backyard / pool area to the back of the house which sits built up 5' higher with a retaining wall. Looks great! He finished in two short days.
