Writing a a revised review, after some years of going there pre-covid. This place is still amazing. Service is great. Food is still bomb! When I was younger, I actually never really liked hot & sour soup, but as I am older, I actually enjoy it, and theirs is really good, even not adding the egg, so it's vegan. This time, other items we had were: salt and pepper tofu & braised tofu w/ mushrooms. Yum!! Definitely, still a fave Chinese Regular/Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant.

This review is both to express how incredible the food is and a call to help this local business out! They currently do not have enough consistent staff due to budget issues to have someone to wash dishes so they only do takeout or give dine in food via takeout boxes. My family and I went to this establishment for lunch and were totally amazed by the quality and taste of their food. A true vegetarian dream restaurant with a multitude of options. The restaurant manager who was female (did not catch her name) was incredible sweet and made sure we had a lovely time. Do check this place out and support them!!

Went in for lunch, and the service was nice and prompt, and food came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed the spring roll that came with the meal but didn't particularly enjoy the food otherwise - I feel like there was a funky after taste. It was disappointing to me because the vegetarian menu looked great and good vegetarian Chinese food can be hard to find. Ambiance is lacking, and they do use to-go containers and offer paper plates for your meal.

This is a vegetarian spot that is great for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores. The restaurant is a large space and can accommodate big groups. I came in with my brother (who is vegetarian) and recommended this spot. The service was quick and friendly. The lady, whom I'm assuming is the owner, was very inviting and ready to answer any questions we had. The food did not take long to arrive at our table and the portion sizes did not disappoint. We also got some (vegan) hot & sour soup on the house. It was very tasty! We ordered the potstickers, salt & pepper tofu, eggplant tofu and kung pao chkn. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to visit again to try something new!

Ask the Community - Long Life Vegi House

Are you still serving people in to-go containers and paper plates?

    They were in January

What kind of oils are used for stir frying and deep frying?

You can bet it's cheap refined oil (taste it)

Is the food oily? Are there any steamed items?

Not super oily and but I don't recall about steamed - it'd think yes

Tonight I was craving good local chinese food and decided to give this place another try. I don't know why. I always felt bad with each previous sad serving. It was terrific! The order was ready on time. The containers were bulging with food when before the servings were getting skimpier and skimpier. The chow fun was not swimming in oil. The cumin lamb was no longer 90% peppers but a generous portion of lamb and a good ratio of peppers. The crispy chicken appetizer was delightful. The dry green beans had a snap. It was such a complete reversal from the last experiences that I'm glad I went back and we will certainly continue to satisfy our Szechuan cravings with this place. I had braced myself expecting in these dire times with many food places closing or gasping with high costs, a less than stellar experience. What a wonderful surprise!

However, the last time we got it it had become a watery affair loaded with bean sprouts. The dish was only a shell of its former self, so we never went back. Instead of cheapening the dishes, they should just raise the prices.

Good spice level and lots of hot chili oil. The dish we always get when we go - D08 Glutinous Rice Ball. Start with tangyuan (gooey mochi balls filled with black sesame), deep fry them, and cover them with chili oil and spices. It covers almost all the tastes and textures (sweet, salty, spicy, fried exterior, gooey/chewy, with a liquidy filling). Only a mad genius could have come up with this dish and it works brilliantly. The rest of our dishes vary a bit each time we go, but it's usually some spicy dishes and at least a veggie dish. Really haven't had complaints on the food. A few watchouts - the parking lot next to the restaurant is not theirs. Street parking only. They also charge a nominal fee for takeout containers ($0.25/box) and a bag ($0.10/

Braised Pig Feet & Chicken Feet $26.95 4. Glutinous Rice Balls (peanut filling) $18.95 5. Spicy & Cumin Pork Chops $23.95 The only downside was that they seemed pretty understaffed. We had to wait a while before anyone came to take our order. But honestly, all the food was really good. My favorite was definitely the eggplant with string beans, so flavorful and really well cooked. I also liked that you can ask for lower sodium dishes if you want. I would want to come back again to try other things on the menu.

Cool to see a restaurant stick around for that long. We got to the restaurant right when it opened for lunch at 11:30 on Sunday. Free street parking on Sunday! I thought everything was solid top to bottom, but here is my ranking in descending order: Braised Eggplant Tofu Clay Pot - I generally like this dish everywhere and they have a good version on this here - seasoned well, tender eggplant, and nice texture on the tofu Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - non-traditional "salt & pepper" - thick coating of tempura-like batter, very peppery (black pepper), and wings set on a bed of sauteed onions. Sesame Bread with Green Onion - tasty, but unlike other "da bing" I've had. This was on the thin side, meaning you have a lot more crispy outside compared fluffy inside. This was also lighter on the green onion. Classic Shrimp & Chive Dumpling - can't go wrong with dumplings - an order comes with 12 dumplings, each filled with big pieces of shrimp. I liked the texture but it is a little different - looser filling instead of a solid meat/veg ball on the inside. Original Braised Pork Noodle Soup - I liked the flavor of the soup and noodles. There was a ton of meat (diced) but they were on the tough side.

The noodles here are very long but maintain a chew which is perfect for slurping. The greens were a little on the tough side as my personal preference would be for it to be a bit tender to bite into and eat. The soup have a good quantity of both the shrimp and the wontons.
