    Seasoned French Fries

Up to getting seated and taking our order it was in due sufficient timely manner. When our food arrived the fry's were over salty.. if the waitress would've told us that they put a seasoning on there, she should've given us a choice. I asked for no signature seasoning on my steak and then I ended up taking a couple bites. My tongue was on fire realized they put the seasoning on. Had to wait again to get a new steak.. waiting to get some help around here is awful. It is not good service.. they should have a little button at the table because it was waiting way too long..

Horrible! Our orders were given to the wrong table. There was sheer chaos - one of the servers stated she was given the wrong table number by her manager. They were throwing the new server (2 days out if training) under the bus. She was doing her best amidst chaos and poor management! It took over an hour to receive our entrées. We received another table's orders. So many mistakes made. No real accountability from the manager. I have never seen blood from medium well steaks!!! This was my first and last visit !!!

Not very crowded on a Friday night.

Hard to understand why I would want to come to a chain suburban steak place when Milwaukee has half a dozen of the best steak houses anywhere. LHS is cheaper, and the only fair comparison is with other chain steak places, Outback and Texas Roadhouse. In his final years Longhorn became my father's favorite restaurant so I would take him for his birthday. He would always find a way to get the waitress to bring him a martini which he was not supposed to have. He would always order the biggest most expensive steak which he also wasn't supposed to have and could never finish, but he was my father and we're Asian so it was so. Now every year on his birthday I come to a Longhorn and have a martini and a steak and think about him. The waitress was excellent, the ambiance is leather, and the food is better than Roadhouse or Outback. I failed to call a top shelf vodka for my martini and it was some terrible rail stuff. It was yellow not clear. I ordered it straight up extra dry and I think maybe the bartender didn't know what that meant and put in extra vermouth, also rail liquor, it was awful.

Arrived to the restaurant at 3:36pm. Waited at the front podium with no one there to seat us. Asked several ppl for help. No response. At 4:02pm someone walked up said " how many?" Not an apology or nothing. NOTHING BUT ATTITUDE!!! Manager came over to table not friendly at all. Slow service. Food was great but extremely not worth the wait. It wasn't a lot of customers. They seemed short staff. The floors needed vacuumed. Cob webs visible. Light fixtures dirty and light fixtures dirty. Won't return and I wouldn't recommend this place.

When we first got there, the hostess said we could not be seated because the waitress has not punch in yet. They forgot to bring silverware. The worst part was they only brought the order for two people and the order was wrong. We asked what happened to other order for the other two people. There answer was we thought the other waitress was bringing it. They got that order mixed up also. To say the least it very disappointing, and to make matters worse, we were celebrating someone's birthday.

Went to Longhorn for an event celebration and it seems like every time I go to this place, everything about it is worse. The booth we sat in was way way too deep, like it was broken or something. Our waitress took our orders and had to come back to tell us they were out of something and we had to reorder, not a great start. We got our orders in and got some free bread that was pretty dry. Salad came out and it wasn't very good, lettuce was slimy and clearly not fresh. I couldn't finish it. Main course came out, I had asked for my steak medium-rare and it was closer to medium/medium well. It was also covered in butter which seemed a bit overkill. Fries were fine but my side of brussel sprouts was definitely overcooked. Also the entire time I was at my table, the waitress only interacted with us to get our drinks, take our order, ask how our food was and then give us the check. It was the bare minimum for table service. She did not stop by to ask how we were doing inbetween our apps and food coming out. This was annoying because I drink a lot of water during meals and I ran out of water after my salad and had to eat my whole dinner without any water. Overall I was not impressed and won't be back.

One of the best steak houses in Milwaukee based on the quality of steak you get verses value. For somewhere around $25.00 you can get a great steak, always done right, tasty and tender. Where else can you get that! Service has always been solid during my three visits and the food has been consistent. Only reason for the four stars was my seat cushion was ripped. I looked around and saw from my table three other seats ripped, one worse than mine. If we had four people in that booth one person would have had to sit right over that rip. Come on Longhorn, you gotta fix those seats.

Some lady answered and kept calling me hun saying I'll put you down hun. She said it was no problem because it was for a special occasion. Fast forward to last night me and my 7 guests show up for dinner and the general manager tells me "we don't take reservations". I told him some lady said she would take my reservation but because I didn't have a name he couldn't believe what I was saying to be true. He said I will try to get you a table in the next half hour while other guests have to wait 1-2 hours making me feel like I was inconveniencing him. An hour later we finally got seated. Mind you the whole first hour standing in a cramped- way too full bar - is not fun. So we were given 2 free apps for the "misunderstanding". Our waitress forgot my friends wine - not the biggest deal. Everyone but me ordered a prime rib and they were all mostly fat. I was willing to overlook the whole reservation thing if the food was worth the wait, but it was not. The best thing I ate was truffle fries. If you want to book a dinner for a special occasion don't waste your time here.

The Steakout - Milwaukee, WI…read more If you're headed to Milwaukee, The Steakout is an absolute must. I eat steak at least once a week, both at home and at restaurants. At home, I know exactly what my family and I like. Ordering steak out is always a bit of a gamble. My husband usually avoids it because 1) we (well I) make great steak at home and 2) every other business meeting seems to happen at a steakhouse. The Steakout is the exception. This place was a solid 10/10 from start to finish. The Atlantic Salmon was an absolute masterpiece. Yes...even in the Midwest. Sushi-grade salmon, perfectly seared on the outside with a buttery medium-rare center. We almost ordered the walleye because, well, Wisconsin. Instead, we took a chance and were rewarded big time. Paired with a bright lemon aioli and served over a rich butter broth, every bite made us look at each other and say, "Okay...this was the right decision." Aside from finding a couple fish bones (because fish are, in fact, made of fish and bones), this dish was outstanding. Now let's talk Prime Rib. Prime rib and I have a complicated relationship. I see it on a menu and immediately think, "this is the one." Then about half the time I spend the rest of dinner wishing I'd ordered something else, like a trusty ribeye or NY Strip. Not here. The Steakout absolutely nailed it. Perfectly medium rare, juicy, flavorful, with a fantastic au jus, beautifully seared asparagus, and just the right thickness. Honestly, I don't know what they could've done better. I couldn't make anything up even if I tried! The French Onion Soup was another winner. Rich, cheesy, and exactly what you hope for when you order French onion soup. And because it's a true Midwest supper club, dinner started with a warm bread basket and a classic relish tray loaded with fresh vegetables, pickles, and olives. Honestly, I wish every restaurant still did this. Bring back relish trays! Of course, no great steak dinner ends without dessert. Even though we were absolutely stuffed, we ordered the tiramisu to go. "To go" lasted approximately five minutes. By the time we waddled to the car looking like Violet after her Willy Wonka blueberry fiasco, that tiramisu didn't stand a chance. Thankfully, we headed straight to Milwaukee's Summerfest afterward to walk off at least a few of the calories. Zero regrets. For the quality of food, the portions, and the overall experience, The Steakout is incredibly reasonably priced. If you're anywhere near Milwaukee, do yourself a favor and put this one at the top of your list.

We made a last minute reservation but am so glad we did because this place got busy quick! We arrived a little earlier than our reservation so we sat at the quaint bar (the layout reminded me of a "Cheers" episode) and enjoyed a glass of wine until we were called to be seated, promptly at exactly when our reservation was for. The bartender was friendly and helpful in suggesting a selection of wine too. I ordered a petite filet but I think it would've been helpful to have the weights of the other two filets listed on the menu as well. My steak was cooked as requested. Clearly this is a local favorite and heavily supported. Reservations are recommended for sure.

I so rarely get to Greendale (honestly, can't say that I had ever been to anywhere in the village besides the mall) and I liked that we could make a reservation, making it a nice change of pace. The decor is lovely, very Art Deco, a nod to Eleanor Roosevelt, the namesake of the restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the interior was given that the exterior is essentially a strip mall. What's that old saying about books and their covers? Service was great, both attentive and timely, and everyone very much enjoyed their food. Monte Cristo is one of my favorites and this one was done very well. My coffee was also good and she kept it coming, which I also appreciated. Really the only sour note in the entire experience was being asked to vacate the table. While it was not handled terribly poorly, I would have recommended they offer us something to shift to the bar to not end the meal on a less than positive note, but that's just me.

Tonight we came with another couple, who were celebrating a birthday. They are members of JGs loyalty club. At our table, they had left a handwritten card with birthday greeting. They were also entitled to a discount. We have had this server before, and have always impressed with the professionalism, and helpfulness. After ordering a round of drinks, with a couple of excellent old fashioned, we were ready to place our food order. Of course I got the Lamb Chops, and the others ordered, Chicken Piccata, Steak Diane, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. While we waited, there was bread and small tray of crackers and spreads (I do wish they served an actual relish tray). Didn't take that long for the food. It was all hot, flavorful and good portions. My Lamb Chops were a perfect medium rare. The sides were also sufficiently hot, which was an improvement over our last visit. All the other entrees were excellent. And everyone had some leftovers to take home. For dessert the birthday boy got a free Schaum Torte. We added to that with a Brandy Alexander, which was hand mixed and not overblended. And a Creme Brulee, freshly torted so that caramel with dry and brittle, not soft and tacky. A great way to end a superb meal. Definitely a place that we look forward to returning too!

We went on a Thursday night and still needed to wait 40 minutes for a table. I didn't expect that since this place is a bit off the main corridor. I always forget about it since, like I said, it's off the Hales Corners corridor of Hwy 100, and a little too far east on Janesville Rd from main Muskego corridor. The place hasn't changed a bit on the inside. Still a semi-formal interior with plenty of seating in both the dining room and bar area. It can be a little loud when full, and having a conversation with my husband was quite difficult. That's a pretty typical experience in these older buildings though. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quiet dinner location. I ordered salmon, my husband ordered a steak. We both had soup as a starter along with a relish tray and bread - both of which seem to be unlimited. I thought my salmon was cooked perfectly, though my mashed potatoes were watery tasting. My husband thought the same of his steak and potatoes. Not the worst thing in the world, but mashed potatoes are not hard to do properly so I was a little disappointed in that. Would I come here again? Probably. Our two dinners were more than $80 before tip, so it was an expensive night out. It's not a place we would add to our normal rotation, but it's a decent special occasion spot.
