Enjoyed Mother's Day at The Longhorn Steakhouse by Southridge. Boy, was this place packed, even had to park in the mall parking lot because their lot was overflowing. This was a complete surprise to me as my husband and stepchildren planned it. Of course no one made a reservation so we were pretty wary about getting a table. We walked in as a standby table and were told an. hour-a one hour and a half wait time which was fine. Here they take your phone number to text instead of giving you a pager (more on that later). So we went to the bar to wait. I definitely recommend the Margaritas. You get a full glass plus whatever is left in the shaker which is usually enough for a whole second drink. There were 5 of us and three of us had the Mango Margaritas and two just had Sprite. We waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes and I went up to the hostess stand to get a new estimate on the time. Unbelievable, she looked up our name and said "Oh, we texted you 10 minutes ago and you didn't come up to the stand so your reservation was cancelled. I said we were literally sitting across from you at the bar and I pointed to our party. Good thing one of the managers, I believe his name was James was standing right there and he made things right by giving us the next large booth. The waitress was very nice and repeatedly apologized about how slow the food was coming out but we told her it was all fine and we realized how busy it was. Our food was done to perfection. We ordered two 12 oz ribeyes medium rare, both with asparagus, two 20 oz bone in ribeyes, one with asparagus, and one with a baked potato with butter and sour cream, and a parmesan crusted chicken breast with loaded mashed. Believe it or not, we even ordered one desert to share, the cheesecake topped with caramel and pecans, which was absolutely delicious. read more

Our waitress was great- friendly and professional. Food was just ok, but for a chain restaurant the steak would be considered to be on the better side. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The wait time, was quite long, which we expected so we joined the waitlist at home at around 6:30. We arrived at the restaurant about an hour later and were told there'd be another 25 minute wait. I believe it was at least another hour wait, no big deal since they were busy. I must add, the restaurant did not smell clean. I don't know if it was the carpet or the booths/tables, but there was an off putting smell in the restaurants dining area. read more

The restaurant was neat and tidy it was fairly busy. Our service was slow, which is fine when it's busy, however forgetting glasses of water and simple things was not great. Up to getting seated and taking our order it was in due sufficient timely manner. When our food arrived the fry's were over salty.. if the waitress would've told us that they put a seasoning on there, she should've given us a choice. I asked for no signature seasoning on my steak and then I ended up taking a couple bites. My tongue was on fire realized they put the seasoning on. Had to wait again to get a new steak.. waiting to get some help around here is awful. I've been to LongHorn Steakhouse several times, and unfortunately I can't recommend it as a consistent go-to anymore. The service is usually decent, but the overall experience has been hit or miss. One of the biggest downsides is the atmosphere--the clientele is often loud or inconsiderate, which takes away from what should be an enjoyable meal. On top of that, it feels like prices have gone up while food quality has slipped a bit compared to past visits. Horrible! Our orders were given to the wrong table. There was sheer chaos - one of the servers stated she was given the wrong table number by her manager. They were throwing the new server (2 days out if training) under the bus. She was doing her best amidst chaos and poor management! It took over an hour to receive our entrées. Hard to understand why I would want to come to a chain suburban steak place when Milwaukee has half a dozen of the best steak houses anywhere. LHS is cheaper, and the only fair comparison is with other chain steak places, Outback and Texas Roadhouse. In his final years Longhorn became my father's favorite restaurant so I would take him for his birthday. He would always find a way to get the waitress to bring him a martini which he was not supposed to have. He would always order the biggest most expensive steak which he also wasn't supposed to have and could never finish, but he was my father and we're Asian so it was so. Now every year on his birthday I come to a Longhorn and have a martini and a steak and think about him. The waitress was excellent, the ambiance is leather, and the food is better than Roadhouse or Outback. I failed to call a top shelf vodka for my martini and it was some terrible rail stuff. It was yellow not clear. I ordered it straight up extra dry and I think maybe the bartender didn't know what that meant and put in extra vermouth, also rail liquor, it was awful. read more

I honestly don't know where to start. Management, wait staff, busses were simply awful. The waitress only took our order. When we first got there, the hostess said we could not be seated because the waitress has not punch in yet.They forgot to bring silverware. The worst part was they only brought the order for two people and the order was wrong. We asked what happened to other order for the other two people.There answer was we thought the other waitress was bringing it. They got that order mixed up also. Went to Longhorn for an event celebration and it seems like every time I go to this place, everything about it is worse. The booth we sat in was way way too deep, like it was broken or something. Our waitress took our orders and had to come back to tell us they were out of something and we had to reorder, not a great start. We got our orders in and got some free bread that was pretty dry. Salad came out and it wasn't very good, lettuce was slimy and clearly not fresh. I couldn't finish it. Main course came out, I had asked for my steak medium-rare and it was closer to medium/medium well. It was also covered in butter which seemed a bit overkill. Fries were fine but my side of brussel sprouts was definitely overcooked. Also the entire time I was at my table, the waitress only interacted with us to get our drinks, take our order, ask how our food was and then give us the check. It was the bare minimum for table service. She did not stop by to ask how we were doing inbetween our apps and food coming out. This was annoying because I drink a lot of water during meals and I ran out of water after my salad and had to eat my whole dinner without any water. One of the best steak houses in Milwaukee based on the quality of steak you get verses value. For somewhere around $25.00 you can get a great steak, always done right, tasty and tender. Where else can you get that! Service has always been solid during my three visits and the food has been consistent. Only reason for the four stars was my seat cushion was ripped. I looked around and saw from my table three other seats ripped, one worse than mine. If we had four people in that booth one person would have had to sit right over that rip. My friend and I met for lunch today. We had to wait about 10 minutes for table. The place was booming! As soon as we were seated we were served warm bread! Shortly after we were served our beverages. The only good thing about the experience was the time with my family and Keegan. The kitchen set him up to fail. We had a group of 10 and my order was wrong. Them they took back the part that was right. 30 minutes later I receive my meal and the runner pushed me and put a plate past me again that was wrong. Rounded up to 4 stars because while our last visit was 3 stars, all the rest have been 4 or 4.5. This past visit, my Outlaw ribeye was cooked perfectly, but my wife's regular ribeye was cooked completely differently.. No grill marks, less seasoning.. This isn't normal - we've eaten here several times. Also, her ribeye was so fatty, she cut about a third of it off because it was not edible. When we told the server about how fatty the steak was, she responded "Oh well I think Ribeyes are fattier than most steaks".. thanks for the education on Ribeyes, kid, but that's not what you should say when someone holds up a 3 ounce piece of fat to show you how fatty it was. Then we asks us if she should tell her manager.. Like, are you asking permission from us? We shouldn't be given prompts on how you should just apologize for the crappy cook and quality of my wife's ribeye, and offer to take off part of the bill. I went here on 08/10/2024 and oh my god it was disgusting, besides the waitstaff being super nice, the rest of it was just sad. The apps were mid but whatever they're just apps. However when it came to the entree it was awful. The ribeye was raw( I ordered medium rare) the lemon chicken was so salty and at 25 bucks it was a laughably small portion. I'm not one to be a Karen and call over the manager but holy shit. I thought I was being pranked at how bad it was. Our server and the front of house were super sweet and deserve better. Manager was also passive aggressive which is hilarious. The place was filled kids crying and parents doing nothing about it. Don't come here. I hope the servers and hostesses/bussers find a better place, they deserve better. read more

My daughter and her friends had a reservation set for a party today. The hostess told them 40 minutes. They waited 2 hours. Hostess and servers were very rude to them. I would give them 0 stars if I could but the minimum is 1 star. Highly recommend not coming to this place. Whoever the district manager is, you need to hire a new manager and new staff and do a revamp. Train people that want to be there. That want to do their job. My family and I are frequents at longhorn. We go usually like twice a month. Usually Great food. Today though, we had the worst experience we have ever had. In the past we always do the waitlist online. It says on the website if you have over 6 people to call. So we had 11 people today celebrating a graduation. So we called, they tell us on the phone that they don't do that anymore, don't take call ahead seating. Ummm okay..... so we tell them when we get there. Didn't say how long the wait would be. We ended up waiting 45 minutes. Fine, cool, whatever. We are sat at two round tables both having different waiters, which that's typical for big parties but in this situation they were considered two completely separate tables not just two waiters for the large party. We pushed the tables together because there was enough room and that way we could at least be able to talk to each other. The manager then comes over and says that we have to move the tables back because it was a "safety hazard." We did. Honestly, if we wouldn't have waited 45 minutes already and could have gotten seated at another restaurant right away, we would have up and left right then. So we order, the other table gets all of their food before our table, even though we are all there together as one party. My steak comes, I ordered it medium, comes rare. Send it back again ask for medium, comes back medium rare. I didn't even get to eat because everyone was already done eating and I asked that they just take it off the bill. Because at this point the other table has already been done eating for a bit. The table behind us (not in our party) didn't get their food for a very long time and were complaining too. I advised the manager when leaving that this was the worst service we have ever had. I know she doesn't care, they still make their money even if we never go back. But it was just absolutely ridiculous. So disappointing because we do enjoy the food there. read more

Ordered two entree salads, one with peppered steak and the other with chicken tenders. I ordered my salad with no tomatoes. This apparently means no onion, and no cucumber as well. The salad was composed of huge pieces of either kale or the tops of Romain Lettuce. Boring. My steak was fine. Although when I ask for blue cheese salad dressing it doesn't mean I want my steak covered in blue cheese crumbles, either. The chicken tender salad was okay, I guess. It was for my spouse. I should have ordered extra dressing for his though, he likes a lot of dressing. This is not a restaurant problem, I thought the dressing containers very adequate. As this was a takeout order, I can't speak to the service this time, or the ambiance. I have eaten in the restaurant before and at those times the staff has always been a pleasure, and the decor is typical steakhouse decor, pleasant, not terribly tacky. 3.5 stars but rounding up for karma. We knew we were going to a LongHorn Steakhouse. We understood the assignment. I think some other folks leaving reviews need to manage their LHS expectations better. There was a long wait so we went on the website and got a spot on the waiting list. We walked around Southridge mall to get some exercise before we ate. When we arrived we were told there were a few people ahead of us. Within a few minutes we were seated in a nice booth. I like the lighting and ambiance of LHS. We looked at the booth across from us that had a giant tear in the seat and were glad we were not seated there. We figured they would not seat anyone there because the seat would've possibly ripped people's clothes it was so bad. Before we knew it, they seated people there. Our waitress was very nice and greeted us right away. She told us there would be at least a 40 minute wait for food. We figured they were trying to give a long wait-time when they sat down so people were happy when they received their food faster than expected, and that's exactly what happened. We ordered drinks and a stuffed mushroom appetizer to hold us over. The appetizer came immediately. Then we got our drinks. Drinks were ok, appetizer was solid. I ordered the filet with salad and French fries. The salad was really good, fresh lettuce and toppings, and the ranch dressing was super yummy. Husband ordered the NY strip with salad and asparagus. Asparagus was an up charge. We also ordered mushrooms and onions. Our meals came 15-20 minutes later. Not bad at all! But we didn't get our mushrooms and onions for another 10 minutes. We were still eating so it was no big deal, just odd. Food was good for what we paid for. It is definitely salty, but I don't really mind that if I'm out to eat. Did not order dessert, took a bit to get the check. A lot of people seemed to be using coupons but I don't know where they got them! Hook me up! Waitress gave us to-go boxes. We paid with cash so we didn't have to wait. We had steak and eggs today. Salty steak and eggs. All is right with the world. Keep doing you, LongHorn Steakhouse. I am so disgusted with this place. We went there on Sunday and sat at the bar, hoping for faster service. There is only one other person at the bar at the time and the bartender walk past us said she would be right back 10 minutes later, the bar is now full, and we were the last ones to be asked for our order. Then, when we got our drink order, our drinks were not even made in front of us, which is 100% illegal when you go in place an order at a bar, the bartender has to make the drink in front of you. Our drinks were made in the kitchen and then were brought to us. Mine tasted like pure soda water , when I complained about the drink which was an old-fashioned that was supposed to have knob Creek in it, she took Corbell and poured two shots worth a brandy and what was supposed to be a whiskey, old-fashioned! Then, when we finally got our food, they didn't even come with our sides that we ordered so by the time I got the bartenders again, we got our sides, roughly 15 minutes later and didn't even bother to ask us if we wanted another drink . Love this place for great food, service and ambiance. My favorite is the potato soup! They serve warm loaf of bread complimentary. The menu provides a great variety of choices from steaks to salmon. Another favorite is their baked potato it's so good. Steaks are cooked to perfection as well as ribs and chicken. The prices are very reasonable. Celebrated my and my sister's October birthdays at the Longhorn in Greendale, WI. Was basically accused of being a scammer because I tried paying with my Corporate issued gift card. The gift card and pin were valid but was told that they were getting scammed with invalid numbers and wanted more proof. Needless to say, that put a damper on an otherwise wonderful dinner, the food was excellent, our waiter Ivan was attentive and courteous but the assistant manager was the worst. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and clean. Ultimately, the regional manager approved my gift card but I felt discriminated against and I will never go to another Longhorn. Not only did they not apologize but when I wrote the corporate office to share my experience, they didn't apologize either! I did not want anything other than an apology. read more

We went there before 7 pm on a Tuesday night. Didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for seating but the service was extremely slow. We ordered our drinks first and then the meal. A tea and coffee made it to the table within 40 minutes but we waited well over an hour to get the margarita from the bar. The hostess was reminded over 3 times. By the time the drink came, the syrup had settled to the bottom. The meals came out individually and missing parts of the order. We never did get the fries despite more reminders. The 2 steaks were well done-tasty -but overdone. The 3rd was fine. Broccoli tasted soggy as if frozen. The sweet potatoes were nicely done. The manager didn't comp for not receiving the fries nor offered to send an order of fries home. when given a "to go box", the lid didn't fit. It just wasn't that box- several other families had the same outcome. No apologies. A pity the service was so poor, I have eaten at other Long Horn Steakhouses and always felt that it was a great restaurant chain. But, not this one! read more

Being able to work under pressure is a skill that must be taught to the hostesses working during a prime time. Not only were they anal about everyone being in the building before seating, even after expressing that we had to accommodate a large party with multiple semi-abled elders, but they still didn't sit our party together. They aren't able to accommodate larger parties efficiently and should work on their attitudes. I would not recommend this place to any larger party nor would I come back here. read more

Not sure I will return to Longhorn. Started with the French onion soup: the soup was Luke warm where cheese was hardly melted. Flavor was good but needed to be hotter. ordered ribeye which I thought was salty but my husband thought it was fine but again good flavor and cool medium as ordered. My main complaint was that when the waitress brought me a refill on my drink the glass was disgusting. It was a simple diet coke bit after a couple drinks I looked and the glass had pulp all on the inside some dried on side with some falling in my drink which I ultimately drank. When I brought this to the waitress attention she gave me a look like I was crazy. thank goodness it was at the end of my meal. With a half hearted apology I would think the least she could have done was take the charge off for the soda. But nooo still charged.
