The decor is attractive, especially if you are a cowboy lover. The menu is extensive. The French onion soup makes you think Julia Childe might have prepared it. If you like French fried onions, these will make your mouth water. Steaks, pork chops, and even burgers are mouthwatering. If you order the barbecued ribs, you will have enough for two more meals. We're big fans of Longhorn Steakhouse and while vacationing, decided to stop by with the family. With a party of six, we were sat right away, no wait time. The hostess was very kind and polite, walked us to our table and informed us that our waitress would be right with us. The restaurant seemed to be busy but not overly crowed. Very clean area, tables, decor was nice, big windows, large and comfortable both table. Our waitress stopped by introduced herself and took our drinks and appetizer orders. Drinks cane out and our entrees were ordered. Everything was perfect, steaks were cooked to order, sides were great and portions were larger than I remember. My husband and I visited today. My husband had Flo's filet; he said it was "fine" but not great. I had the strawberry salad with sirloin and the French onion soup. It's hard to get soup wrong, but they did. It had a good 2 inches of thick, hardened, rubbery cheese. Once that was pushed aside, there was maybe an inch of room temperature soup. It was just unappetizing (see photo). The sirloin on my salad was inedible. I wish I had taken a photo. But 3 if the 4 pieces were thick, fatty, hard gristle- literally unable to cut through it and would not have given to my dog. By the time I had set the meat aside and eaten my salad (that part was decent), and my husband nearly finished, the waitress walks past, I get her attention, and I show her the meat. She literally said, "okay." Then said "do you want a new piece? " I replied that it was inedible (and it also had been an extra charge upgrade) and I didn't know what they wanted to do. She said she'd bring a new piece. 15 minutes later she hands me a to-go box with a 3x2 piece of meat. I had planned to eat it then but she never asked. And no apology. No "let me grab my manager." Could tell they where trying to cover up their incompetence in cooking steaks. The food is always good but the treatment tonight was unacceptable. Me and my mom ordered the bacon burger and told them I wanted it medium rare and when it came out the inside was red and bloody (raw) and when I touched the inside of it, it was still cold!! In recent years, it seems like I have steered away from chain restaurants to give more attention to my local "mom & pop" establishments. This latest visit to Longhorn, I admit, I initially wasn't "feeling it" but once we sat down, it felt like a good choice! I really enjoyed and appreciated the privacy booths for each party. The ambience made us feel at home and cozy. Our server was cordial (not overly excited, but very polite). He was very responsive and ensured we always had what we needed. For appetizers, we had the stuffed mushrooms. Let me tell you, these little morsels were oozing with cheese and oh, so tender! My wife had the 6oz sirloin and shrimp and I had the 9oz ribeye. The meat was very well seasoned, a little more than medium well (which is what I ordered), but nonetheless a well prepared steak. My wife enjoyed her meal, allowing me to try one of her shrimp (not the greatest shrimp I've ever had, but had decent flavor). Over all, our experience was a very positive one and glad we made the choice to come in for dinner.
