Date night with my husband to this wonderful establishment. Tonight was Pork dumpling appetizer, NY Sirloin with root vegetables and roast duck with a blueberry sauce. Cheese cake with lemon sauce to go for dessert! Sooo good!

    Lamb chops - perfectly cooked!

The loon lodge dining experience surpassed all expectations! My husband and I split an order of the lamb chops and the mushroom risotto and both were fantastic. The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection, and came with an incredibly flavorful mint sauce that complemented the meat so well. The veggies were also delicious (likely coated in butter) and I appreciated the spices chosen to season the carrots. The risotto was creamy and the right texture. I appreciated the assortment of mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach cooked into it. Finally we ended on a slice of key lime pie (also perfect)! And shared a warm chocolate bread pudding with his sister and her husband. (Pro tip: ask for vanilla ice cream with the chocolate bread pudding instead of the default chocolate). Service was also A+! The server made us feel really welcome and she did a great job accommodating our 4 year old nephew and 2 year old niece.

We stayed here just 2 nights earlier this fall and had a delightful time. Our lakefront room was a dream, beautiful outlook, spacious room, comfy bed. We also had an amazing dinner in the dining room, with the most delicious salty caesar salad I've never had. It was such an easy, comfortable, rustic getaway. We will definitely be back!

The Nordic room was cozy and offered us the best end to our day with a gorgeous view of the sun setting over Rangeley Lake.

WOW. What an…read moreabsolutely lovely experience we had at Highland Heath House. We emailed to see if they had an availability for an overnight stay on super short notice. We heard back from Nancy right away, and booked something immediately. She let us know that we would have to show proof of vaccination upon arrival, and we SO appreciated the upfront conversation about their comfort and expectations during the pandemic. It set our minds at ease immediately, as did getting a confirmation email about our booking. The beautiful log cabin home sits on a hill overlooking the eastern shore of Rangeley Lake so expect absolutely stunning views of water and mountains, the call of loons early in the AM, and deer frolicking in the field in front of your picture window. It's about as Maine as you can get. The amenities were outstanding: comfortable rooms with fireplaces and enormous rain showers, an all day coffee/beverage station, a lovely interior (when we came, Nancy had decorated for autumn with faux foliage and pumpkin decor), and a British style pub in the basement. Breakfast was served at a reasonable time AND it was tremendously filling (and thoughtfully prepared given our dietary restrictions). Even though it was cold, we were encouraged to take our coffees outside to enjoy unhurried on their deck. Nancy is a gracious host, incredibly warm and welcoming. We immediately fell in love with her special space in the western mountains of Maine, and are already planning our return! Perfect for a little getaway/staycation (and loads of great hiking/scenic vistas nearby).

If you are looking for pristine, sparkling new and updated not the place for you but if you want a beautiful clean and a bit retro with an attached bar/restaurant and hotel next to a golf course away from people this place is awesome. Built in pool with no one else in it . I hope to go back in the Fall or Spring and will definitely stay here again. Sunrise was amazing and free breakfast was delicious and well served. Will try the dinner menu next visit. Great plan for a weeding / reunion or gathering

Dined here on a Friday evening with a party of 5 adults walking in. We entered through "The 19th…read morehope" the bar area of the Inn. We asked if they could take us which they obviously could since there were many empty tables! We had just gone through Oquossic restaurants and all had an average of 45-90 minutes to wait! We were heading back to Rangeley when my father mentioned the Inn. The atmosphere is old fashioned rustic and the dining room is classy with linen table clothes and napkins and oil lamps on the tables for lighting. The building has a musty odor going downstairs for the bathrooms and Inn rooms. Dark paneling lines the hallways and the ladies room has a "powdering" area which you don't see very often. A great country club atmosphere over all. Only down part was on that at the end of an 80 degree day they had no AC! I do have to say though that although I wasn't refreshed by cold air, the fans and opened doorway did help. We all felt relaxed and happy we came here opposed to the hectic and very busy other places we had been. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. There were a few appetizers, several entree's, and only one dessert listed on the evenings specials list. We ordered the special Lobster Rosetto, Veal piccata, and the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. The lobster was wonderful, creamy texture and plenty of lobster. The veal was very good, clean plates. The Salmon was dry and not very hot. Black beans that accompanied were ok but didn't like with the Salmon. We enjoyed the rum bread pudding dessert special at the end of our meal. Sue was our waitress and thought she was fast, friendly, and professional in helping us with our meal.
