Easily one of my go-to spots whenever I find myself in Midtown. I first heard about this place while living in Virginia, my cousin couldn't stop raving about it and the hype was 100% justified. Came here on a Wednesday with a friend. I found this spot randomly looking for places to eat during lunch. I saw the reviews and pics of the bulgogi cheesesteak and definitely wanted to give the place a try. The place has a very chill vibe, not too bright and clean. Got the bulgogi cheesesteak ($15.95) with povolone and it was really good, flavorful and the portion size was pretty big. My friend got the tofu bowl which she was not a fan of and didn't really eat much of it and mentioned that it was not what she expected. I felt kinda bad since I picked the spot.. Quick, delicious, lots of selection of Pan-Asian standards. We stopped on our way out of town via Penn Station and we were not sad about the choice. I had the Bibimbap with chicken and gochujang sauce. Others had the burrito and the Kimbap roll and Thai iced Tea. The service was friendly and quick and very helpful. The decor is minimal functional yet nice. The bathroom is not to miss with cute fixtures and decor. There is a 5% cash discount. Free WiFi and a 7$ minimum for credit card purchases. read more

found this place randomly and glad we did! they have a variety of korean fusion items, it was hard to choose what to try! the bento option was a good amount of food, had to take some home. the chicken was tender and yummy! the fried rice was not as flavorful as i personally would like it, but some enjoy that light flavor! the kimchi was a bit too sour for me but good flavor (also a personal preference). area and seating is very nice, great lunch spot, id def go again! read more

I came here on a Sunday evening with a friend and the staff was super friendly and seated me quickly! The menus were on iPads with was pretty cool. The food came out pretty quick. The decorations were pretty nice and I loved the bird themed chandelier. They also had a clean bathroom in the back. I was in the area with the colleagues for work & when it was time to get lunch, we happen to come across "Loopy's Eatery" & I'm so glad we did! There a specials posted outside the window & the "spicy ramen" definitely caught my eye because I love ramen. I had their spicy ramen with bulgogi beef & it was so good! The beef was tender, the ramen was perfect & broth flavorful with a little heat in the background. It was served with pickled radish on the side which was little sweet & crunchy & balanced out the heat in the background. One of my colleagues tried their bibimbap bowl (which I was seriously considering getting too) & it looked delicious & he said it tasted good. My other colleague had the French fry bowl & enjoyed it as well & said the shrimp was good. I had a Thai ice tea, (which if this is ever on any menu I have to get it) & it didn't disappoint. Trying out a new restaurant, you never know what you'll get it. I'm happy the food here was good & didn't disappoint. My only critique is, there isn't a pubic restroom, so hopefully with time that can change because when serving food, you should always have a restroom available in a sit down restaurant. I won't hold that against them, because the food was 5 stars & came out hot. read more

I understand the 5 star review and wonder why this place isn't more popular. A hidden gem in garment district! I got the lunch platter with spicy pork and was very satisfied with it. The sides were curry chicken and salad. Even though it didn't look like much, I was stuffed at the end! The best part was it was delicious. Food 10/10 Simple and delicious. Most of the time when I eat out, I am by myself and I really just wanna something simple, quick and affordable. It's weird to say this but there are not that many places fits all these criteria in the city, but this is one of them Service 10/10 This is more like grab and go take out place rather than a sit down restaurant, but you have the sit down option. Delicious food and great service at Loopy's. My daughter and I stopped in after finding this place during a quick yelp search for food in the area. When we walked up the owner was outside cleaning and we inquired if they were open. He greeted us and let us know they were open. We were the only patrons (but we were happy about that) as most places in the area are PACKED on a warm sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered via the QR code/ phone app and our food came out fast, hot and fresh. The restaurant was clean, and had some great music playing. The food tasted DELICIOUS and the portions were way more than what we expected! We ended up taking home leftovers. We will definitely return to Loopy's to try other items like their ramen! read more

Loopy's is a great spot to dine at if you need a filling meal, but don't necessarily want k-bbq or want to wait for hours just to get seated. Their menu has a good selection of Korean-Fusion, and I look forward to trying other items next time. The donkatsu, beef kimbop, and cheesesteak (NOT Philly Cheesesteak btw - so don't get it twisted) were all delicious. What a great find! I had the stone pot bibimbop at the recommendation of the owner and it was delicious--the beef was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this place just for the food, but the service was great too, friendly and very helpful. Oh, Loopy's. How I love thee. Let me count the ways: 1. Top quality food 2. Top quality and friendly service! 3. Nice atmosphere I was a regular at Loopy's back when they were in Northern Virginia. The community there was so sad to hear that the family who owns Loopy's was moving to New York and closing shop. On a recent trip in New York I decided to look them up, only to find that they reopened Loopy's here! I changed my dinner plans that night just so I could make it out to have the delicious food and say hi to the family. They recognized me! I got the kim bop. The quality is the same as I remember-great! There were some ladies who looked like they got bibimbap, and they said it was delicious. Some dishes I sampled in the Virginia location: the bibimbap; the fusion burrito; the platter; and the cheesesteak. All great. Don't forget to try the specials! Loopy's...thank you for my life. We were God's special idiots who miscalculated and had an hour and ONLY an hour to eat and shower at our hotel down the street before we had to be back on the train. This is a nice little counter serve spot that rolled with us saying "OH GOD ACTUALLY CAN WE GET OUR FOOD TO GO". They brought everything packaged and offered us silverware. Genuinely a life saver, but even better, the food itself was really good. I got the bibimbap with chicken and my wife got a lunch platter. The chicken was fresh, the vegetables were delicious, the rice and egg were well cooked, the price was reasonable, and overall everything was clean, professional, and exactly what you want from a "fast casual" style restaurant. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
