    Taco Tuesday deal

I google where to get taco Tuesday nearby and this place came up with a promo showing a picture for $8.50 which had crispy tacos and a little side of chips . I ordered 4 plates when I got home they was 4 plates of 3 tacos 4 inches in diameter with 2 tablespoons of meat loaded with cilantro and onions and very cold!! My location is 6 minutes away and when they sent me a text my order was ready I was in parking lot already. I called and told them I received the wrong order and the guy who answered the phone said oh no you really think you going to get crunchy tacos for $8.50. Well that's what pictured, why wouldn't I . 4 plates are in the garbage, I went to El Jalapeno Rojo down the street and would recommend that place to you instead of this place!!! Not only did I feel I was frauded and laughed at the food was terrible

Inside of the super taco. They forgot the pico de gallo on this one.

I finally figured out how to get enough pico de gallo on my super tacos at Lopez Taqueria: order a side of it and put it on the tacos myself. I did that tonight and the tacos tasted great. No complaints. Turns out their pico is really good. I'll be back for more.

Been so curious about this place because there are multiple locations and ALL with good reviews. So we finally tried it. We ordered the following: - 2 cheese corn quesadillas w/cilantro and onion, it was very good! -a vegetarian sope, this was delicious. They don't skimp out on topping either (see photo) -chips and salsa, chips were good and if you like chipotle chile salsa this is for you -little burrito, was a decent size (not vegetarian) -chicken quesadilla on flour, my partner liked this Hot sauces are so good! The best one is the green one! Service was quick and helpful. They have many tables inside and outside. It was clean. Vegetarian options and pet friendly patio. Beans don't have lard, but rice has chicken broth.

You know when you're just too hungry. I devoured this super carnitas burrito before I could even think. Helped out by the friendly staff very quickly and they started on our order. It's a little quiet in here tonight but nice to enjoy conversation. Carnitas are always a solid choice - burrito and nachos are my go to items. This burrito was delicious!

After attending a show in Hoover theater we were very hungry and this was the nearest open restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I didn't check the menu beforehand and I was worried whether or not I will get any vegetarian options. I was pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian section in their menu. I had vegetarian taco and toastada. Food was good! My husband tried super taco with pollo and a fish taco, he like both. It was a chill place, we loved their patio seating. This is a self service place, all the staff was friendly though to help with water, condiments etc.

My husband and I made a last minute decision to eat at Lopez Taqueria 2. It's a hole in the wall establishment with ample parking. You order your food at the register and it comes out pretty quickly. We got super tacos, al pastor burrito, chips and guac, and pineapple aqua Fresca. The Super tacos are huge and packed with flavor. There were big pieces of avocado, gooey hot cheese, beans, pico, and your chosen meat. Two of them were a lot for me, and I was stuffed. My husband loved his burrito as well. They also gave us two sauce bottles which had a tangy green sauce and a spicy red one. I think my husband devoured the majority of those! The chips and guac were good- small in portion but appropriate in price. The pineapple aqua Fresca was tasty and large was very large! We ate indoors- it was a little hot and wished they had turned on their ceiling fans! Overall-very tasty food and we will be returning soon.

3.5 The burritos were solid but I wouldn't say they were anything special compared to other spots. Got a shrimp super burrito and an al pastor. I actually really enjoyed the shrimp. The al pastor could be better. The salsas were really good but they only have two diff types. Overall wouldn't mind coming back if I was in the area but prob wouldn't make a detour or anything

The deck is fun for watching life go by. Service is quick and friendly. When I asked for more chips, no problem they brought them out quick. The taco was filling. A fun way to spend a couple hours watching life on park. The place is busy with takeout orders but this place is fun to people car watch. Worth the stop. Great neighborhood place. Not too pricy. So far our favorite local neighborhood restaurant. Bathrooms is clean.

This is the best shrimp taco I have ever eaten. I ended up ordering a second one after I ate the other tacos because it was so incredible. The non seafood tacos can be the original or the special taco, special gets you avocado and cheese which were really good additions. Lots of lime provided which was very nice. We also enjoyed the salsa and guac. Service is quick, order at the counter and brought to your table. We came for lunch and it was busy but there was still plenty of seating and it didn't take very long to get the food. The pork verde was good but not as good as the carne asada which was spectacular. I can't wait to come back. Good spot for lunch or a casual meal with friends.

We live right down the street. My niebor Freddie was getting tacos. Nobody told me about this place. It's been here awhile. My friend Cheryl flores and her husband went and told me how good it was.yesterday . So I talked the hubby to order dinner tonight delivery. It's good affordable. I'm happy now our new spot down the street. We can recommend to friends too. Will be back soon. Delicious

Delicious food, clean and hella authentic. My fave was el super taco, try them! Service was great and fast, we will come back soon

    Unmelted sliced cheese

Just an FYI...Came in today and ordered a burrito, it was alright they just use sliced cheese instead of shredded and it was cold not melted at all. Not my preferred choice since I feel like the flavor is different but other than that the burrito itself was ok.

Taqueria 2 Super Burrito on the left, Las Cazuelas' on the right.
    Melissa K.

Ok, I came back... did a burrito challenge between this spot and Las Cazuelas, on Race Street. I was curious as to which one was better, so picked up from both places and we ate the burritos at home. My son thought I was crazy driving to both places, but this was for food research, so worth it in my mind! No change in rating...I still see them as a solid "3". Pros- the burrito I ordered was the same as the first, 1/2 carne asada and 1/2 pollo. It was good, just as I remembered. If you like quantity, it was the bigger burrito of the two purchased. Cons- I went to Las Cazuelas first and wanted to call in the order for Taqueria 2. From their Yelp page you could only order through Grub Hub and that made the burrito quite expensive with the added fees and marked up prices. The burrito was $18.00, but if you go directly and pay cash, it's $12.00! They still don't give you complementary chips if you order to go, Las Cazuelas does... the salsa containers are also a lot smaller than Las Cazuelas too. On the taste test or taste comparison- we felt both burritos were good, and had the same ingredients (steak, chicken, avocado, sour, rice). We did feel that Las Cazuelas' had more flavor, so was the overall pick for my family of 3.

This establishment is literally around the corner from our home. Have seen it in progress for some time. Sure would like to know when it plans to open. No signage out front to give any indication. Please share with the neighborhood! Any info?

As of July 4, 2022, it looks like they won't be ready for at least a couple of weeks.

We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Unfortunately inflation and the economy has changed the prices and food sizes, but at least it still tastes good. They have seating out front inside and in the back, but the place was pretty full. Nonetheless, we were seated quickly as we had a reservation. It is a good idea to call ahead and make one. The prices are high, but hopefully all their people are making a good living and the portions are enough for our appetites at least. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and my wife had the vegetarian tacos with a side order of scrambled eggs. There was nearly a mixup as the waiter thought we wanted to order an egg taco and that's considerably more expensive but we got it straightened out with the maitre D. We also shared a Paloma cocktail with which has a pretty color and delightful taste.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

As I entered the restaurant there was the aroma of fresh tortillas being made. Upon sitting down I was presented with fresh homemade corn tortilla chips along with two salsas (mild and medium) Tortilla chips were thick with just the right amount of crunch. Tasting the green (mild?) salsa was my favorite. It had a great tomatillo flavor with a creamy spiciness. It was a good reprieve from my main dish. A Paloma was my drink of choice this time. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a fan of tequila but when presented with the cold clay mug rimmed with salt and topped with orange and grapefruit, I was impressed. It was delicious, so refreshing, fragrant, and cold! A nice counterbalance to my meal. Chilaquiles was a dish I wanted to try. They had delicious chips again cooked in salsa verde. Covered with eggs (any style) fresh crema, avocado, and onions the chilaquiles exceeded my expectations. So simple yet so flavorful. Mixing up quantities of ingredients in each bite made for a delicious experience. My favorite element being the sharpness of the onions which cut the richness of the dish. I'm generally not a fan of refried beans but these ones had such a unique and satisfying flavor which complimented the dish well. My server, Luis was very helpful and quick to check in and make sure I was doing okay! I cannot wait to try out their fish tacos and various drinks from the menus next time!
