This taqueria building kind of reminds me of an old Taco Bell from the 70s. They have a medium size private parking lot, outdoor and I door seating. The decor outside looks rustic, and they have a cool mural on the front side of the building. The inside is not as clean as I would like it but it's not bad. The call to order sign is straightforward. I ordered a El Pastor super burrito and sat at an indoor table. One of the ladies that works there brought over chips and salsa. " not pico de gallo " the chips were.... Well let's just say, not good and the salsa was mediocre at best. The burrito on the other hand was definitely substantial in size and weight and I might add pretty tasty, although later on that day, I did get a little bit of acid reflex. I google where to get taco Tuesday nearby and this place came up with a promo showing a picture for $8.50 which had crispy tacos and a little side of chips . I ordered 4 plates when I got home they was 4 plates of 3 tacos 4 inches in diameter with 2 tablespoons of meat loaded with cilantro and onions and very cold!! My location is 6 minutes away and when they sent me a text my order was ready I was in parking lot already. I called and told them I received the wrong order and the guy who answered the phone said oh no you really think you going to get crunchy tacos for $8.50. Been so curious about this place because there are multiple locations and ALL with good reviews. So we finally tried it. We ordered the following: - 2 cheese corn quesadillas w/cilantro and onion, it was very good! -a vegetarian sope, this was delicious. They don't skimp out on topping either (see photo) -chips and salsa, chips were good and if you like chipotle chile salsa this is for you -little burrito, was a decent size (not vegetarian) -chicken quesadilla on flour, my partner liked this Hot sauces are so good! The best one is the green one! Service was quick and helpful. They have many tables inside and outside. It was clean. Vegetarian options and pet friendly patio. After attending a show in Hoover theater we were very hungry and this was the nearest open restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I didn't check the menu beforehand and I was worried whether or not I will get any vegetarian options. I was pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian section in their menu. My husband and I made a last minute decision to eat at Lopez Taqueria 2. It's a hole in the wall establishment with ample parking. You order your food at the register and it comes out pretty quickly. We got super tacos, al pastor burrito, chips and guac, and pineapple aqua Fresca. The Super tacos are huge and packed with flavor. There were big pieces of avocado, gooey hot cheese, beans, pico, and your chosen meat. Two of them were a lot for me, and I was stuffed. My husband loved his burrito as well. They also gave us two sauce bottles which had a tangy green sauce and a spicy red one. I think my husband devoured the majority of those! The chips and guac were good- small in portion but appropriate in price. The pineapple aqua Fresca was tasty and large was very large! We ate indoors- it was a little hot and wished they had turned on their ceiling fans! Overall-very tasty food and we will be returning soon. read more

This is the best shrimp taco I have ever eaten. I ended up ordering a second one after I ate the other tacos because it was so incredible. The non seafood tacos can be the original or the special taco, special gets you avocado and cheese which were really good additions. Lots of lime provided which was very nice. We also enjoyed the salsa and guac. Service is quick, order at the counter and brought to your table. We came for lunch and it was busy but there was still plenty of seating and it didn't take very long to get the food. The pork verde was good but not as good as the carne asada which was spectacular. Tried the super veggie burrito: it was a good quantity for the price with all the necessary burrito components - salsa, avocado, rice, beans, cheese. The green salsa and red salsa (spicy) were a good addition to the burrito. There were 4-5 vegetarian options on the menu. Ok, I came back... did a burrito challenge between this spot and Las Cazuelas, on Race Street. I was curious as to which one was better, so picked up from both places and we ate the burritos at home. My son thought I was crazy driving to both places, but this was for food research, so worth it in my mind! No change in rating...I still see them as a solid "3". Pros- the burrito I ordered was the same as the first, 1/2 carne asada and 1/2 pollo. It was good, just as I remembered. If you like quantity, it was the bigger burrito of the two purchased. Cons- I went to Las Cazuelas first and wanted to call in the order for Taqueria 2. From their Yelp page you could only order through Grub Hub and that made the burrito quite expensive with the added fees and marked up prices. The burrito was $18.00, but if you go directly and pay cash, it's $12.00! They still don't give you complementary chips if you order to go, Las Cazuelas does... the salsa containers are also a lot smaller than Las Cazuelas too. On the taste test or taste comparison- we felt both burritos were good, and had the same ingredients (steak, chicken, avocado, sour, rice). We did feel that Las Cazuelas' had more flavor, so was the overall pick for my family of 3. read more

Had a chance to try Lopez Taqueria and enjoyed my experience here. This is a cute spot that I chose for a takeout meal. The service was fast and ready on time which I really appreciated. The burrito was really filling for the price and had a good amount of meat. The flautas were a bit dry and they forgot the sour cream and guac which didn't help. (not sure if it was the delivery or the packaging). The chips were also a bit stale which was a shame. I was coming from Los Gatos on my way to the SJ airport and needed to get takeout burritos. This place was convenient in terms of location and despite passing by it many times, had not tried it. On a Monday at lunch time, it was busy with people on their lunch break with both inside, outdoor, and take out options. Parking is free but limited. You can call ahead and for me, my two chicken burritos were ready in 10 minutes. They were ready when I arrived. They have two aguas frescas and common canned and bottled soft drinks. The service is quick and they accept card, tap and cash payments. The chicken in the burritos was slow cooked, not grilled, which I prefer because grilled chicken is often dried. The regular burritos were quite large and it had a good amount of meat. What surprised me was how spicy their green and red salsas were. No wonder they only give you two tiny containers of it! Don't get me wrong, they were both delicious but on the spicier end. My friend told me their menudo is delicious so I will be back! read more

According to the website, Super Nachos come with: "Crispy tortilla chips loaded with your choice of meat, melted cheese, refried or whole beans, spicy jalapeños, creamy sour cream, fresh guacamole, and zesty pico de gallo." I've ordered this again tonight, and guess what it came with... just meat and cheese. FRUSTRATING. I'm already home by the time I realize. This Mexican restaurant has been here since 2022, but we've never tried it. It's a very casual place. The menu is on the wall, and you order at the cashier. The food: Super Quesadilla with chicken: included sour cream, pico de gallo and avocado. Within about 5 minutes the bottom of the quesadilla was wet and soggy - a real mess. The ingredients were too wet for a quesadilla, so it lost all its crispness. On top of that, the chicken was bland. If you're making a quesadilla you have to make sure that you're not adding a lot of wet ingredients inside, otherwise you'll never be able to sustain a crisp tortilla on the outside. And the result is...well, exactly what we got. Chips and guacamole: This was $4 for a big bag of chips and a small scoop of guacamole. I'm guessing the guacamole took a spin around a food processor of some sort because it was extremely mashed, somewhat thin, and gluey in texture. A little lime juice and onion would have brightened up the taste. The chips were plain and lacked salt. Super Burrito with chicken: Includes rice, beans, Pico de Gallo, cheese, avocado and sour cream. The burrito was extremely very large and heavy. The chicken lacked seasoning, and we had to add salt to the inside for some flavor. In a pinch, if you're super hungry this might be a good option, but it was lacking in the flavor department. Overall: The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food came out quickly. However, we'll continue our hunt for the best local Taqueria as Lopez Taqueria's food fell flat on flavor. read more

If I rated Lopez Taqueria 2 solely on the generosity of their condiments, they'd be off the charts. I asked for more limes (love my burrito with a healthy squirt on each bite) and they returned with the equivalent of probably two whole limes. I asked for some salsa to go and was asked "red or green"? I said, "both" and the guy gave me multiples of both. So there's a menu item for chips and salsa. We opted not to get this, and then complimentary chips and salsa were brought to our table. Not sure if the one you order is different? That being said, the comp chips and salsa hit the spot while we waited for our food. I was very pleased with my carne asada super burrito. The carne asada was beefy and flavorful and also had that sear from the griddle. The burrito was nice and juicy. I doused it with my limes, green and red salsa. My bf's chile verde was dry. We thought they probably did not cook the pork in the sauce? Probably would pass on this next time. We washed it down with a large horchata that was refreshing and delicious. Friendly service! Found out this is closer than the one we usually go to so we thought we'd see if it's as good. Turns out, yes, indeed it is! These burritos are sooo fresh and delicious. The meat is cooked perfectly and isn't super greasy. The guac is delicious, and dare I say better than our favorite location... it is. Staff are great. We split a burrito and forgot to ask for an extra basket. The staff was on top of it and brought one to us with the burritos. Thoughtful touches make the experience.
