Totally wrong fries for poutine. You need thicker fries and more cheese and gravy. This was a miss. The cook should have a real poutine prepared form them so they can understand the dish. Thin cut fries are NOT a poutine base. read more

We walked to Lord Stanley's from Davenport Grand while in town for an event at the convention center. It is a sports bar so there were many TV's and a bar setting and seating. We posted up at a table near the windows. Service was fantastic, the poutine was great. The place wasn't very full, so we were greeted and served by the bar tender. Atmosphere: it's what you'd expect from a sports bar. It open, welcoming, plenty TVs, and a good location. They also have some games like a pool table and music. Service: Our server was really great and there when we needed her. She did take awhile to get our check (or even see if we wanted it) but other than that she was really on top of it. As a hockey player who has traveled all over the US and Canada with his beer league buddies I'm impressed with this bar. Walked in here unknowing it was a hockey bar at first. Instantly was hit with some amazing hockey decor that brought back memories. We got to sit at the bar with a welcoming bartender and was able point out all my favorite teams with a custom made bar top with pucks in it. Great drinks! Great food! And flippin bubble hockey for free! The games are always on and great specials during. Great place for your friends to hangout and even a better spot to get your partner stoked on hockey! Pro: - One of the best bars in all of Spokane to watch big games, from Seattle Kraken to Gonzaga basketball. Even if it's crowded, you can usually get one of the staff to put whichever baseball, football, or basketball game you're interested in up on one of more than 20 screens. - The staff are really nice but they can get slammed - especially on big game nights - and it may take a while to get served. - The poutine is amazing. I think I've had poutine at like 2 or three other places but this is my favorite. Con: There's a regular at Stanley's who looks like a taller version of Gary Coleman (TGC). TGC adores insulting men and then sneaking up from behind and smacking their butts as hard he can with his chubby his little hands -- without warning or consent. The owners of Stanley's, Jesse Koester and Eowen Rosentrator, adore TGC's irreverent, edgy sense of humor, and think his butt smacking hijinks are endearing and hilarious so if you complain, they'll tell you that your complaint is "bullshit" and that you should stop "shitting in their nest". If you tell them you want to see a copy of the security camera footage, they'll cite a policy they made up 8 seconds before which tautologically says they can only share it with the police. Then, if you ask the police to ask the owners for the security footage, the owners will lie to the police and say the footage deleted itself before they could take the three seconds it would have taken them to preserve it. Anyways, this would totally be a 5 star review if I enjoyed having my butt smacked by angry, stupid little dudes, or if I was an angry, stupid little dude who enjoyed butt smacking, or if I appreciated being flat out lied to by cuckoos and cuckolds. read more

Love love love the concept of Lord Stanley's and their creative menu! We went here to watch Game 3 of the Avs/Oilers series but, surprisingly, it was only showing on a few of the smaller screens in addition to the big projector which was behind me. I would have thought that during the playoffs, most, or at least many of the screens would have been showing the hockey game, but I found myself craning to see it, which was a little disappointing. I ordered the Quebec 76 (a playful take on a French 75), and it was so delicious, I'm definitely going to try to duplicate it at home since I don't live nearby. We didn't get a chance to try any of their vast food menu (including a whole column dedicated to poutines!), which just means I'll have to come back. The service was a little slow - our waitress brought someone in our party their drink after quite some time and admitted to having forgotten about it. I appreciated the honesty, but wish it would have been faster after that. We ended up having to go up to the bar to cash out because we hadn't seen her for a while. I ordered the original and while The gravy wasn't a traditional brown like I was expecting (it had a bit more garlic in it), it was good. Night life bar. Relaxed atmosphere. We stopped in for our first time, music was popping, and relatively busy. We ordered mules to start and poutine, gotta love fries, cheese and gravy. Lighting dimmed and crowd increased. It's definitely got the sports bar vibe, with multiple TVs playing various sports. If you're gonna call yourself a poutinery, than I expect Canadian style poutine. Canada has a distinct flavor in it's gravy and doesn't use coated frozen fries. if you call yourself a fries and gravy place, than you can serve it however you want and it was tasty. A group of 8 of us from Kelowna were there last week for the Avalanche / Lightning game. We were treated like royalty and met some really great hockey fans. The lady (Katrina) that took care of us went over the top with service; in fact 2 of us wanted a good Cheeseburger and while it was not on their menu she ordered us great Cheeseburgers from a restaurant across the street.
