Augustiner-Keller - Salad, to make me feel healthy eating pork and drinking beer.

We ordered the bratwurst with fries, along with Helles and Weissbier. The bratwurst was fantastic--juicy, flavorful, and the perfect pairing with a cold Bavarian beer. The beer garden is self-service, which works incredibly well given the huge crowds they serve. Even on a weeknight, it was packed, but the service moved quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for from a Munich biergarten--lively, relaxed, and filled with locals. Its location away from the main tourist areas gives it a more authentic feel. A great spot for Bavarian food, beer, and a lively local beer garden experience.

We were lucky to meet Luba who guided us to two open seats and then took our orders. The Wiener Schnitzel was so delicious. The best that we had in Munich. Breaded veal schnitzel with sautéed potatoes and marinated cranberries. The cranberries kicked the flavor up a notch. So tasty. The Kasespatzel was a cheesy Swabian style noodle dish topped with crispy fried onions. So good. So addictive. Loved the dressing on the simple side salad that came with the Kasespatzel. Wanted something cool and refreshing to drink. Went with a blackberry sparking water refresher. Luba was such a great waitress. Definitely made our favorite meal in Munich a special one to remember. Danke schon!

We ordered the pork knuckle, pretzel with beer cheese, and beer. The pork knuckle arrived cold and lacked flavor, while the pretzel didn't seem particularly fresh either. The beer pour was especially disappointing--the amount of foam/head was ridiculous, and for a place associated with such a famous brewery, I expected a much better pour. The photos really speak for themselves. Service was the biggest issue. We repeatedly tried to get someone's attention to place our order, but the servers seemed to avoid eye contact and kept waiting for someone else to help us. Even getting the check was a struggle--we eventually had to get up and go to a counter ourselves. It felt like the staff had little interest in actually serving the customers. The atmosphere itself has the traditional Bavarian beer hall feel, but unfortunately, the poor food, disappointing beer pour, and especially the terrible service completely overshadowed it. I really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, there are much better beer halls and beer gardens in Munich.

My girlfriend and I decided to check this place out on our first night in Munich. We sat ourselves…read moreand waited for a waiter to bring us a menu. Our waiter was an older gentlemen who spoke very little English and made zero effort to help us with the menu. The menu was entirely in German and we had no service to translate anything so I just picked the Wienerschnitzel and my girlfriend ordered a vegetarian ravioli. Both dishes came out relatively fast and looked great. My schnitzel was very tasty and fresh while my girlfriends ravioli was extremely flavorful. We ordered the Oktoberfest beer since we couldn't really read or tell what the other beers were. The Oktoberfest beer was very light, almost like a coors light lol the weissbier is where it's at. Highly recommend getting the weissbier at any and all restaurants as it is the stronger and more flavorful selection. Later in the evening a younger girl asked us if we needed anything and spoke English, she also helped us with ordering other drinks and even called us a cab since we had no service to use Uber. I wish she was our original server and was a little annoyed he did not even ask her to help us in the first place. He also did not give me my change trying to take advantage of the fact that Americans tip, and in Germany the tip is included. I didn't want to make a big deal over 5 more euros but pretty rude. This would be the main reason for only 3 stars. Other than that it was a cool experience and beautiful beer garden for outside seating.

A really nice bar, beer garden and restaurant. The schnitzel at Franzz is amongst the best I've had.read more

This particular Gashof is quite a large site with patio seating, an indoor restaurant, and then a fairly large biergarten with a play area for kids! This was where we did the rehearsal dinner for my little brother's wedding, and it was a great pick. As it was a remarkably warm and sunny day, the inside portion of the restaurant was closed, as was the patio (both which are super attractive to the eye) however, the biergarten was bustling with what felt like a majority of the town! There are a lot of really large trees that canopy the biergarten which keep it shady and cooler. The tables are smaller but can easily be pushed together which we did for our larger party. Chairs are a bit flimsy. The food is typical German cuisine. I found the gravy for my roladen was fairly salty, but the roladen itself was one of the best I ever remember having! (no offense mom!) We received mixed up salad which was fairly decent. There was something in there I wasn't sure what it is, but it wasn't good so I left that for my wife! I don't remember if she even ate that. Service was quick for our meals though there was a lot of confusion as to who ordered what but could be our fault since our large families spread out to different tables which I'm sure made this a bit of a nighmare to also breakout the bill. Sorry! All in all a fun and memorable experience.
