On one of Newfoundland's hottest summer days, you wouldn't expect to take refuge under the umbrella's of a crepe shop. But there it was, in the middle of the small community of King's Point. While service wasn't quite up to the normally uber-friendly Newfoundland, the menu was both interesting and delicious. Of course they have crepes, both dessert and savoury, along with homemade ice cream, burgers, fish and chips. My daughter had an Elvis-inspired crepe special called the King, which really needs to be on the menu permanently. A deep-fried crepe with banana, nutella, peanut butter, honey and ice cream! My son's buffalo chicken crepe was reported to be very good and my wife's orange ice cream, although more like sorbet, was very refreshing on this hot day. My root beer float wasn't spectacular as it quickly became a thin vanilla-beer milk shake in the summer heat, but Lorie needs to be commended for offering this wonderful treat from my childhood.
