While traveling we unfortunately stopped at this exit and found the worst Mexican food ever. Some unrecognizable, a tamal with ground beef on top and drenched with some kind of red sauce? Ewwwww! Everyone has been raving about the Mexican food here in White House and how Los agaves is the best. Wrong! I'm from Los Angeles and hell no! This food is disgusting. The pictures of that sad little disgusting pepper is suppose to be a Chile relleno? Instead it was an undercooked pepper stuffed with ground beef and had a clump oh congealed cheese underneath it. That is not a Chile relleno. And the rest of the food? Could not distinguish between the disgustingness. There is supposedly a cheese enchilada buried in that mess somewhere. Do not recommend since this is not good Mexican food. If you want legit Mexican food try Ricardo's mexican restaurant in Hendersonville. Both the enchiladas and Chile rellenos (stuffed with cheese and dipped in egg! Like it should be!) are much more authentic and the chips and salsa and tacos are also delicious. Or for street tacos and tortas try el grullense taqueria also in Hendersonville. Those places taste like really mexican food, I would know I'm part Mexican American from Los Angeles. read more

The location is what originally drew us in to this Mexican food chain, but then there were great reviews. I'm happy to report that the reviews are accurate! The food was great, the guac. was fresh and the service was wonderful. The only thing I can complain about is the chips, they were a little stale. That being said it was worth the stop. read more

I have went to Los Agaves for years and am very friendly with their staff. However, they have lately swapped over to a new staff and this has caused a lot of problems, I think. The wait time can be ridiculously long. I mean sitting down and waiting 10-15 minutes to order, and there's barely anyone there. Their food is still great! Love the Chicken Chimichanga and their Shrimp Tacos. The Fajitas are also on point. Just wish their wait time was a little shorter. read more

Fresher than most Mexican restaurants. I like the different stuff like shrimp tacos. It's a departure from fajitas. My wife frequently gets the California burrito. The freshly made guacamole cesaro is very good. Outside patio is nice especially with energetic kids like ours. Wish they would ban smoking outside though. read more

Hands down some of the best Mexican I've had in a while. We actually came in 30 minutes before closing and it was still moderately busy, seems to be a really popular place. The place smelled clean and the waiter was happy to seat us. The salsa was perfectly spicy - (I tend to be really picky about the salsa) - and this ranked on my top 5. The food came out under 10 minutes, and was very fresh. The waiter was very prompt and had the perfect balance of service and personality. My fajita taco salad was good overall, I would have liked to have seen more lettuce, also I had more peppers and onions than chicken but overall it was tasty. My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch. We are both in our early 60s and eat Mexican regularly. I placed my order by pointing to the luncheon menu item # 1, which had my favorite Mexican item a Chili Relleno. The plate I was presented had two enchiladas instead of the Chili Relleno. Upon informing the waiter that the plate was not what I had ordered - I was told I had ordered the dinner plate. I reminded him I had pointed to the item on the menu - he acted like he didn't believe me. He offered to bring me the Chili Relleno. I have to say this was by no doubt the worst Chili Releno I have ever eaten. It was a small half pepper with some ground beef laid on top- no cheese. Nothing about this half pepper even resembled a Chili Relleno. After the previous altitude I experienced from the waiter, I didn't say anything - just ate the half pepper with beef. Used to be my favorite place. The last two times there the service was slow. They were busy, we got seated fairly quick, but it was down hill from there. It seemed like 10 minutes to get our drink order, then another 10 to get any chips and salsa. They took our order and it was 20 minutes getting out, we were promised more chips, but they never came. The last time there was even slower. We spend almost an hour and half in there just to eat. Will not go back. The chimichanga was 1/4 the usual size and not crisp at all. The guacamole was terrible and a deep fried tortilla with cinnamon and sugar and sprinkles (really?) on it is NOT a sopapilla! We are regulars at this place . Chips are usually warm and are not too thin . I think the salsa is flavorful . I always get chicken fajitas . They are well seasoned and juicy . My favorite is their rice ! Some places Mexican rice is dried and flavorless. Their rice is moist and flavorful. They have a very friendly staff and always chat with my kids . The meat was tough and obviously cooked hours before I ordered it. Since my plate was on the table within 3 minutes after I ordered, I suspect the kitchen is basically an assembly line where the cook scoops precooked food onto plates and sends it out. Kinda like an upscale Taco Bell. read more
