This is normally a fun and delicious experience for myself and guests and I hate to post something negative although tonight was very disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I could smell a sewer smell so there is obviously issues that need to be addressed. Chips and salsa were brought out and the grease was obviously old or going rancid. Service was good but there was also a man in the next booth on a phone speaker for 20 minutes. Just a frustrating experience tonight and this is only to bring these issues for consideration. Pre-Coachella dinner with the girls and this place did not miss. Not even a little. The owners waited on us and were so fun and genuinely kind, the kind of people who make you want to come back just to see them again. Margaritas? Great. The aguachile? The acid, the salt, everything hitting exactly right. I was not prepared. Quesadilla was stuffed and very generous with the shrimp, steak fajitas were absolutely delicious. We were looking for a place to eat while we were in town and this place had great reviews on yelp and it did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and got us seated right away. Their menu is really good and they're known for their fajitas and their mole. We both ordered fajitas. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and I ordered the chicken fajitas. It's really fun because they make them flaming in front of you and that was really cool especially for my six-year-old son to watch! Came here before golf on a Sunday. It wasn't packed at 11:35, but when we left at 12:25 it was. The food is authentic and delicious. I love crispy beef tacos and chile rellenos. My wife had the machaca and juevos. The chips are fantastic but the salsa needs more heat, in palm springs older folks don't like spicy. Amazing service from the moment week. Walked in! I can't remember his name, but he's the Owner son, and was so friendly, nice, and just been all around Great business, Owner. He gave us suggestions, gave us a little backstory on the restaurant and how his mom makes everything authentic in house. The ambience is very old-school Mexico, and love the decor. The chavela's or ice, cold, and soul flavorful. Definitely not premade, which I love! I ordered the two Krispy. Shredded beef, tacos omg talk about tender meat! My hubby ordered the Mole enchiladas and the chicken was so tender and flavorful. 10/10! All the servers came around and checked on us multiple times, and they were all very nice and friendly. Our plan was to order 2 burritos to go. We didn't get a chance to try the food, and unfortunately the service fell well below expectations. We arrived a bit after 8PM and waited to be seated, as instructed on a sign, until about 8:25 PM, but no one acknowledged us during that time. Eventually, someone came over and said they would get another server. When we finally spoke to a waitress, we were told they were no longer taking orders. The restaurant was fairly empty, which made the experience even more confusing. To make matters worse, the staff we interacted with were not friendly at all. Instead of apologizing, one waitress blamed us for not approaching her and for simply waiting as instructed. We were pleasantly surprised to find this casual and welcoming neighborhood Mexican restaurant on yelp across from Costco in Rancho mirage.. our servers were extra friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a nice setting! Food was okay. They tried charging us $2.00 for tap water. We were not notified ahead of time that we would be charged for tap water. We were also charged an additional $2 for grilled chicken without any sort of notice. We will not be coming back due to the waitress not being honest and upfront with the pricing. Another great Yelper find...had time to grab lunch before heading to the airport and was craving Mexican, hoping for good mole. Los Arcos delivered..! Not only was the sauce delish, the chicken inside was outstanding..usually not the case in a lot of enchiladas. This chicken was extremely tender and well flavored. Service was very good. My only issue is they consistently messed up our order and did not really do much to fix the issues when brought up. They gave us the wrong item, messed up one request and also forgot some items. We attributed it to maybe being busy (?) and they were friendly every time but the food was not worth the price in the end. They skimped on the albóndigas soup like crazy. Me and my mom were in the area and wanted breakfast so we Yelp breakfast spots and were set on going to IHOP across the way from here. But as we are driving into the shopping center I spot this little gem and suggested to my mom to stop by and eat. And so we did! We were greeted by a sweet girl in the front I wish I would have remembered her name but she was the only one up front greeting and taking orders. My mom and I shared the Machaca plate and the portions were more than generous that it was enough food for both of us. The rice was super fluffy and the girl told us they had just finished cooking the rice. Before the food came out she brought some chips and salsa that were complimentary and I liked that the chips were thin and crispy. I'm not a fan of the super thick tortilla chip. They have a little bit of everything here on the menu. I'm adding it to the list to come back and have lunch or dinner here. read more

My first time here was a couple years ago, and the meal was great! Loved the tamal. Last time I came here I got the tamal and it was cold inside Today, decided to give it another chance. The chips were either stale, or they were cooked on old oil, because they had that bitter metallic taste. The hard shell tacos were soggy and fell apart. the pork tamal was tough and dry. The shrimp burrito had very little shrimp that were chopped up to make it look like there was more in it. It's all disappointing because the food used to be so good. read more

We ordered the following to-go items: 1. Carnitas chimichanga - It was ok. 2. Chicken fajita burrito - The menu does not say it comes wet and it was soaked by the time we got to the room. We should have been asked if we wanted it dry or not. (These came with rice and beans. They were awful! Crunchy rice and dry beans.) 3. The sign outside proclaimed Mojara Frita- fried fish - always a welcome sign at any Mexican restaurant, although in the middle of the desert, you have to wonder where that fish swam lately. Since it was Sunday I fancied menudo. The young gentleman who sat me lit up and proclaimed "my mom made the menudo this morning!". "Con pata?" ("With foot?") "con pata!" He answered, again eyes and face lighting up. In rapid succession to the table came: Chip and salsa. Chips were hot, salsa was meh. Menudo Condiments on the side, consisting of chopped onions, oregano, cilantro and hot pepper flakes. Tortillas The menudo, albeit tasty and brimming with tripe, tendon, hominy and a giant pata, could use in my opinion at least 20-30 minutes longer on the boil to soften the tendon even more; and a pinch more of bullion powder, to deepen the chicken or beef flavor of the broth. My grandmother made some simple Mexican food. I've found very few places that make dishes like how she prepared them. One of the things that she would make was chile colorado. I've found it is hard to find that on menus these days. I saw on Yelp that Los Arcos had chile colorado. So, I asked my friend to go with me one evening. We pulled up and a young man came to the door and said that they were not letting people in. There were people inside. Puzzled, we went elsewhere. A few months later, I asked my roommate if he would try this location. We went on a pretty hot day. Inside, they had a portable air cooler set up, in a corner. We sat right in front of it. I'm glad we did, as I later saw our waiter come out of the kitchen with his shirt full of sweat. I felt bad for the young man. (He later changed his shirt.) I ordered the chile colorado. I don't remember what my roommate ordered, but he finished it. My chile colorado touched my soul. I took a bite and closed my eyes. I felt like I was in my abuelita's kitchen. Rich in flavor, not too salty, beef super tender. I ate everything on my plate. On one wall there is a mural that I find distracting, though I see that some appreciate the history contained therein. There are some decorative pieces and niches that I found interesting. There were two of the same painting near the kitchen. That made me chuckle. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely go back, when it is cooler. read more

One of our favorite things at a Mexican restaurant. Salsa had a mild flavor for those who are afraid of spice. We ordered duo chicken and steak fajitas & the fried tilapia (sorry I don't have the exact name and it is gluten free). Both came with beans, rice, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and a side of either flour or corn tortillas. Portions are generous. Fajitas were just right with the smokey flavor- you could small them as they came out of the kitchen. The presentation for both was great! The server did a flambé for both. So fun!
