I had a great time with my in laws at this quaint Mexican restaurant. The workers were very patient while we looked through the menu and decided what we wanted. The food was brought out quickly and it was very well cooked and prepared. I enjoyed the portions of everything the most, I felt that we got a bang for our buck! Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints at all. The place itself was very clean and cute. The decorations were thought out and it felt like a very authentic ambiance. It was my first time going there and really appreciated the fact that we received those cards at the end with cash off our next visit. 100% recommend stopping by this business if you're in the area!

This Is a great hole in the wall Mexican restaurant! My favorite things are the spicy passion fruit margarita and the shrimp burrito. Both are outrageously good. The servers are so friendly and I really like the energy in the bar. My only complaint in the parking lot is small and tight. I highly recommend street parking Or the church parking lot across the street (as long as church is not in session).

Margaritas and the drinks are probably the best thing they offer! Food is okay and the price for the quality of food doesn't equal out. Chips with HOT HOT sauce and cilantro sauce was given upon arrival, not your typical "salsa". Nachos and cheese/jalapeños didn't taste authentic. Ordered the steak and chicken fajitas with peppers and onions, however I only received about 4-5 pieces. The steak tacos with rice and beans were good. Outside patio with TVs and shaded seated picnic tables. Server was okay, not down your throat like most servers, but when I needed something, never to be found. Overall experience was great, but I think I'll stick to the bar!

Cheese quesadilla with chicken added

First I'll say I've been coming here for about 8 years now. Trigger warning. I have my period and the ONLY thing I wanted was a chicken and cheese quesadilla from Los. Specifically the cheese. I told my friend I'd either do a double cheese pizza or a quesadilla from Los. I ordered from here because they always have so much cheese it pools out and there's always a puddle of grease from the cheese (yes gross but cravings so whatever). And this was the sad meal I got. I had 3 bites (2 on one side and 1 on the other) before I realized the cheese did not pool to the other side. There was just barely any in it. And I ate 2 WHOLE FRIES from this basket. The chicken keeps falling out and that is the only thing right about this as far as amounts given. Massive disappointment. And now I'm just annoyed and pissy cause I went out and ordered food and paid for food that didn't have remotely enough cheese in a cheese quesadilla (chicken was added)

House margarita

I didn't really like the salsas (one green, one red) that they served with the chips. I did like the $6 house Margarita, and I was thrilled they served it without the salted rim. If you want the salted rim, be sure to ask for it. We were both happy with our dinners: Enchiladas Mayas with Chicken, and a spicy pork Supreme Burrito. Parking was challenging, we ended up having to park in the back. Maybe they should park their food truck in the back so there's room for customers in the front.

Hey Los Mariachis! You are our favourite mexican food place. So much that we had Los Mariachis food truck at our wedding. They have the best Jalapeño poppers and it is not the frozen stuff. They make it in house and are super delicious. This is the one cheat meal I give myself whenever we go there. The veggie tacos are also amazing. Their vegetarian fajitas are also delicious but also have huge quantity. It would easily be enough for 2 people. I feel they have come super close to authentic mexican food as per my mexican husband. They provide a great service every time we have visited. The staff is amazing. The ambiance just transports you to the beautiful world of tequila, sombreros and tacos and mariachis music.

Blue margarita

I absolutely love coming to this place. The service is great. The blue margarita is the best drink. They have different specials for each day of the week except for Friday, But Friday has the mariachi band. They do $2 taco Tuesdays, Thursdays are signature sangrias for $6. They don't have an actual menu they have a QR code scanner on the table. I do wish that they had actual menus. The steak fajitas are my usual this time I got barrier tacos which were really good. And a steak fajita quesadilla. The quesadilla was a good size the barrier tacos was a small portion that came with three tacos. But leaves room for dessert or someone who doesn't want to overeat. The fajitas come with a lot of food I always have some leftover when I eat that. After being seated they came over with water and it's like they knew me because they gave me two right away. I love having my water refilled quick so this was awesome to me. They brought it with chips and spicy and non-spicy salsa. The food came really quick and so did the check when we asked for it. The only thing I would change about this restaurant is not having actual menus and I wish it was bigger with more seating options it does get crowded.

Definitely loved this little joint in CT their quesadilla was great and the prices were very reasonable. Service was good and ambiance is very casual. Great spot for Mexican in the area.

Los Mariachis is a solid Mexican restaurant in downtown Wallingford. I went recently and had a good experience. I ordered a house margarita to drink and it was very good! Next came the free chips and salsa... I liked the chips, and they give you two varieties of salsa, red and green. I'm not a fan of anything spicy though, and both were too spicy for my liking. For my meal I ordered the fish tacos, which came with fried tilapia, lettuce, and tomato served in three soft corn tortillas. They were also very good! The inside is pretty spacious, with a bar area in one room, main dining area in another room, and then an outdoor patio. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. One thing to keep in mind... they have a Mariachi band that plays some nights (I believe Fri/Sat) and it can get a little loud with the music, so maybe not the best place if you're looking for a quiet dinner. Overall a good Mexican spot to check out!

Two kinds of salsa! Red is spicy...

We come here a few times a year and it never disappoints. The fajitas are the best we've had around, usually enough for two people to split it and still have enough to take home to mix with eggs for breakfast in the morning. The chips and salsa are free. The red salsa is spicy!

Chicken Chipotle Quesadilla

Pretty good. Came here with a local Groupon offer. It's close by and had been meaning to check it out for a while. Overall, pretty good. The "sweet surprise" desert was a mess, though. Some fried stringy dough pieces with some chocolate syrup and ice cream. Wasn't a fan. Flan was decent. Overall, pretty good food. Enchiladas and quesadilla seem to have a kick of heat, which wasn't bad, just not expected or anticipated.

Steak tacos

Really yummy spot! The red salsa is really flavorful, albeit spicy. The green salsa is less flavorful but not spicy. I think the tacos had an amazing tortilla and the chicken fajita quesadilla was very filling. The ambience is fun and the drinks looked really good!

Okay, so at first, I wasn't planning to write any more reviews for the foreseeable future. Just…read morebecause I wrote one review recently didn't quite mean I was warmed back up to Yelp just yet, and if I'm being honest, I'm still not. Between a removed review causing me to go missing from Yelp for 6 months and losing my trust in posting my reviews here on Yelp, I let go of my Elite status and am now back to square one. But after driving my mom to Manor Inn so she could attend an event there, I decided to look up spots around there since I did spot that their wait times were going to be extensive. That's when I decided to go here and see what was good. Honestly, after I encountered the parking situations in both places and went into the restaurant, I knew I had made the right call. I was seated immediately, given a menu, and even given some complimentary chips, salsa, and a plate of refried beans sprinkled with some cheese. Now, refried beans and salsa are not foods I would normally eat because my food palette don't usually like those items. But with these tortilla chips, they were both very flavorful, and given this was complimentary, they were all the more appetizing. I should also mention that my waitress, Sayda, was very nice and prompt whenever she came to my table. Answered any questions I had, and had no problem with my orders. So from the menu, I went with the Tropical Twist, their Calamari for an appetizer, the tacos de barrio for dinner, and even ordered churros to go so I have something for when Winter Storm Fern dumps 80 million inches of snow tomorrow and into the next day. Oh, might I say, everything was delicious! I knew I couldn't have alcohol because I still had to pick my mom back up and then drive back home to Waterbury, but that Tropical Twist was a nice consolation if you can't have alcohol. The fried calamari was also another great choice. That dip it came with was so addictive it was like crack, and the perfect thing to pair with fried calamari. If there's one thing I would say could be improved, it's that they could be just a smidge more liberal with the fried coating. There were some pieces that had some small spots that had no coating at all, but nothing too major. For the tacos, MMM MMM GOOD! The meat was tender and flavorful, the presentation was great, and the consome paired deliciously with the tacos. It's definitely worth the $20 they cost. The churros were also pretty good. I can't say they were the best churros I ever had because the place that made my favorite churros ever closed down back in 2024 and had since become a dog grooming place, but if not for that, then I might make a case for that statement to be true. The chocolate syrup it comes with is divine and a nice sweet treat to finish off the night. I was in and out of the place in maybe a slight smidge above half an hour, so I would say all-in-all I'm glad I came. The place is also well decorated, bathrooms are clean, and the ambiance is inviting and casual. Now, I may still need to gatekeep a few reviews here and there, but this place was a step in the right direction in getting my confidence back in Yelp. I would definitely come back here again whenever I get a chance, and I highly recommend coming to check out this place if you're in the area. Oh, and for comparison's sake, it was an hour and a half between when I was finished here and when I could finally pick my mom back up again from Manor Inn. Take that as you will.

We came on a Saturday night and there wasn't a seat in the house! It was busy but we only waited a…read morefew minutes to be seated. We started it out with their homemade chips, refried beans and salsa. The chips were crispy and the salsa was fresh! We also got the Loteria Tacos ($21.99) Five corn tortillas with your choice of meat (chicken, steak, al pastor, carnitas, beef), topped with cilantro and onions. We tried all of them! We paired this with a side of rice and beans. I'm not a fan of a refried beans, but it was great to dip the chips into. We also tried the Margarita flight ($21.99). We tried jalapeño, passionfruit, mango, and hibiscus, but had many flavors to choose from (peach mango raspberry, strawberry, jalapeño, passion fruit, coconut, guava, hibiscus. blue curaçao). As much as I like a margarita, the only flavor that was really distinguishable was the jalapeño. Otherwise, the other ones were just sweet and fruity. Our server was promt, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

"Imitator, intimidator, stimulator Simulator, eliminator"…read more(Eminem) If ten state of the art golf simulators are your stimulators, you'll love a visit to Back 9 Social. And your visit will not be handicapped by a lack of gastropub like food and drink. Their golf simulators are very impressive and combine radar and camera technology to faithfully recreate some of the best courses in the world, including St Andrews, Pebble Beach, and 120+ others. A professional organization I belong to held a gathering there last night and had a great time. We ordered and paid for our drinks through their big bar through a QR code, but you can still pay the old-fashioned way with cash if you prefer. We had plenty of their pizzas which were quite yummy. Our golfers had a blast and I should point out that although some of the other customers I saw actually brought their own set of clubs, Back 9 can hook you up with their clubs for men, women, lefties, righties, and kids. And of course, plenty of tees and balls to whack into their high-definition screens. The facility is gorgeous, the golf simulators were amazing, the staff was helpful and friendly, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

We completely understand that the facility has every right to monitor alcohol consumption and prevent inappropriate behavior. Nobody wants people getting sloppy or disruptive, and we respect that. However, there's a much more professional and respectful way to handle it than what is done. We are unsure of her name, but the female manager present made us uncomfortable as she was constantly staring at our group throughout the evening instead of simply communicating expectations directly. The alcohol restrictions are also entirely ridiculous- I specifically was told by the bartender that I was being watched for alcohol consumption after having 2 Coronas in a time span of 1 hour and 45 minutes. The restriction on alcohol itself is not the main issue -- it's the way it is handled. We have felt watched and punished despite the fact that nobody in our group was loud, inappropriate, or intoxicated on multiple occasions. I also want to note that the bartenders have been spectacular and are always very nice. This is specially about the manager and the way she acts towards paying customers. When you're spending over $200 on the simulator alone, a little courtesy and respectful communication would go a long way. We really do like this place, but experiences like this make us hesitant to come back.
