    After

I needed my front yard tree trimmed. They were a little slow to get back to me however once they did, they were very pleasant to deal with. The young man who came out initially was very polite and eager, but he did not understand English and was cutting more than I wanted cut. So, we tried communicating with Jessica in the office who was relaying what I was trying to communicate. We just couldn't get the right communication. They sent 3 people out the next day very promptly. However, none of them spoke English so we were back on the phone with Jessica. The tree was approximately 25 ft tall and tall they had was step ladders. So, one of them had to climb in the tree. End result was my tree was trimmed but not how I wanted it. It ended up a bit shorter. If you understand and can speak Spanish, I believe this company would be a good fit. They are very reasonable in their pricing for their service.

My concern was that I felt the result was very different from what I hoped. I was disappointed. I hoped to have one of the nicest properties in the community, and instead I felt a little embarrassed. This is my fault, but I was out of the country for a couple of months while the company was doing the install, and I was too busy to give the project the careful thought that it required. After being in the house for one week, I decided that I was unhappy enough to be feel bad instead of happy about my new front and back yards. I decided to find another landscaper to totally redo the landscaping. I had seen the Desert Sage Landscaping truck several times over the past few months working on nicely landscaped properties (I rented a house in the community for 8 moths while they built my house). I liked what I saw. I talked with one of the guys and he took me to the owner, Miguel. I liked having the owner actively maintaining landscapes because that gave me confidence that he had a lot of practical, on the job experience with plants in our desert environment. I showed him my front and back yards and told him what I wanted done. I asked him about many plants that I liked and he told me what was good and what was bad. He was speaking from experience in maintaining so many properties. He gave me a plan within 24 hours and began a couple of days later. He and his crew spent about a week replacing the walkways and plants, and adding boulders, hills, irrigation, lights and many plants. The price was reasonable and the result is excellent. I now have one of the nicest landscaping in the community. Thank you, Miguel and your team at Desert Sage Landscaping.

Water from the pool or rain would flood the back patio. After thirty years of wear and tear in the backyard, the rocks and the dirt were sliding into the pool during rain or heavy pool days as well. The brickwork that was put in by the previous owners was not level. And I needed to be pulled up.They were able to level the ground and patio. Miguel installed a drain line and a French drain. This moves the water away from the house and gives it a place to go. He added a pony wall that serves as a bench and also a small retaining wall to help divert water away from the pool, and keep rocks from being kicked into the pool pair.He if we removed old brickwork and installed new bricks with a nice border to make it look seamless A nd inviting into the backyard, He refreshed our our ground covering rocks front and back. He moved some decorative boulders and also trimmed up the yard. And removed some bushes. He and his crew were on time. Communicated well and cleaned up after themselves. Thank you for the new backyard. That's fun day hangout n.

As first-timers, our ideas evolved throughout the process, and Sal was incredibly patient and helpful, offering great suggestions along the way. His team was professional and reliable--always arriving on time and making sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. Once the project was complete, Sal personally came back to inspect everything, fine-tuned the sprinklers, and made sure we were completely happy with the results. We love how our backyard turned out and look forward to hiring him again this fall for our front yard.

He recommended another bigger outfit come in and bid to replace...everything. Hard to hear, but after seeing what he fixed the past 3 months and more pvc would burst as we fixed cracked spots i started making calls. I had 5 companies i reached out to. got 2 bids one day, then Sal was the 3rd on next day , with 2 more after him who both never showed. Sal wasnt the cheapest, nor the most expensive. What won was 1) he is licensed. So many landscapers are not. That is worth the job, quality, piece of mind. 2) I brought up high water pressure issues with our area/house to not only our regular guy , but the 1st to bidders who both said, its not water pressure, its your guy not knowing how to use or fix pvc properly (but my main guy has been w/us for 15 years+ and has done break fix over the years, no issues) Sal came and in immediately agreed its pvc/pressure. We hired Sal after the other 2 no showed. He initially said 5-10 days but was done in 2.5. His crew started at 7 and was done at noon. Fantastic work. He even redid my control box after the bid/estimate (no charge) and pointed out how to run everything, he labeled all our valves /zones. Incredible work in the hottest days we have had in Phoenix. We already have another much smaller job getting a quote. All his work is warrantied!!

This wasn't a standard install -- we had specific ideas, and Turf Monsters listened and delivered exactly what we had in mind. Communication was excellent throughout. They showed up exactly when they said they would and got everything done quickly without cutting corners. The finished result for our shot put deck/area is something our coaches, athletes, and Mountain Ridge community can be proud of. They were also very competitive on pricing. As a real estate broker, I have seen the aftermath of many not-so-great companies. They have now moved to the top of my referral list. And I look forward to working with them again in the near future. I highly recommend Mike and his team.

I paid to have brand new turf installed because I was told my existing turf needed to be replaced due to visible seams. After the job was completed, the new turf still has seams, which defeats the entire reason I agreed to replace it in the first place. I also paid for a completely new irrigation system, but it appears that it was never actually replaced. Many of the sprinklers still have the same old sprinkler heads and tops, yet the company insists the system was replaced. The visible evidence suggests otherwise. Additionally, I paid for repairs to my fire pit, and within three days the structure was already cracked again. The professionalism on-site was also lacking. During the job, the crew took a break for about an hour sitting on our personal lawn chairs and didn't even bother to put them back, and they left trash and debris behind when they finished. What's most frustrating is that I've reached out multiple times to have these issues addressed, and each time I've been pushed aside, given excuses, or told things that simply aren't true. At this point I feel like I paid a significant amount of money for work that was not completed as promised and was poorly executed. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this company to others. Update. The owner has informed us that we will be receiving a refund that should have arrived today. If course it did not arrive, not is he answering any attempts to reconcile. This shows how crooked he is.
