My son an I decided to eat there because their shrimp brucreta are great. The place was only maybe one third occupied and we still had to wait 10 minutes for chips and salsa and tea. I thought at time that this was not a good sign. Another 10 minutes passed before our order was taken. We were brought another basket of chips and more salsa. By this time we had been there an hour and the waitress came by and asked if we would like a third bowl of salsa. I said no, but I would love to have our food. She said she would see what she could do. Another 15 minutes passed and we were finally served our meal. We got check and it was $20 more than it should have been. Given wrong check. I saw a lot of reviews critiquing the slow service, so I was a little worried going here. However, it was probably the fastest service I ever had! My meal was out 5 minutes after it was ordered and the host and waiter were very quick too. I ordered the large beef fajita nachos for $8 and could only finish 2/3 of it. Tons of meat. We have gone past this restaurant many times and decided to stop in for dinner. The restaurant was packed and we had high hopes that it spoke well for the food. Sadly it did not. This was the worst Mexican food we've ever had. Firstly, everything was bland. The enchiladas were dry and the chili relleno was covered with a heavy sauce and was mushy. Location is in a shopping center. When you walk in. the place is definitely dingy. The decor is old and the seats are worn. The bar is probably the most modern looking area in the whole restaurant. The prices on the menu are very cheap. My husband got the Burrito Texano for $10.99 and I got a beef fajita plate for 1 which cost $11.99. (The cheapest priced fajitas I've ever seen btw) We were nervous to get out food but once we did we were shocked at how tasty everything was. We will definitely be going back. Worst service ever!! The waiter NEVER checked on us.. only took order and brought it to us (He checked on all of the other tables around us though.) When my husband tracked someone down (it took 20 minutes to get someone), he asked for a drink and the waiter said Happy Hour ended 6 minutes ago. We asked for a manager. The hostess lady came over stating she was the manager (when she obviously was not) and apologized and walked off. I was excited about trying this place since I'm a huge fan of horchata and they are also fairly close to my house. We decided to try take-out and we got a burrito dinner, fajitas, chips, queso, salsa and horchata. The salsa, queso and horchata weren't too bad. The fajitas were eaten by my son who said that they weren't too bad either. I got the burrito dinner and started eating it only to find what looked like black pubic hair in there. This was the second time we have come to this restaurant. The service was absolutely aweful. It took 10 minutes to be approached by anyone. The chips where greasy and stale. It took a very long time to get our meal. When it finally arrived, our order was wrong, and part of our order was missing..and the waiter never came back to check. He ran off too fast for us to even tell him. The food was just...okay. Waited forever to get our check. 9/20/15 Ordered: Chicken enchiladas; chicken fajitas topped with cheese, mushrooms,onions and bell pepper; and children's quesadilla (not sure of the actual names, sorry) This was the most tasteless food from a Mexican place I have ever had. We were there for 1.5 hours because of the fact that the service was so incredibly slow. It took 8 mins to get my tortillas for my fajitas and when I got the they were incredibly hot, and when I waited for them to cool off they had gotten hard. The waiter took 10 min to get us out to-go boxes. The only thing we took home were the quesadillas because they had a decent flavor. The rest of our food we left. Imma start with pricing $13.95 for a full meal with a margarita. I ordered the Fajitas Asadas Jalisco and it was great! Too much for one person. The only thing lacking flavor was the rice. The tortillas tasted fresh, the chips and salsa were good and the charro beans were exceptional. When almost every modern restaurant charges extra for guacamole it came with the meal here. We last went here 8/7 after we had to walk out of TJ Reed's because no one would serve us (after sitting there 20 minutes). The experience was the exact opposite at Los Ramirez. We were waited on immediately and our glasses were never empty. We got the fajitas for 2 and the quality of the food was great. The prices are amazing, too. The only issue we normally have here is there can be a bit of a wait some nights, but that's just a testament to their success. They could also buy slightly larger glasses or use less ice so they don't have to keep coming back to the table. I was let down at Los Ramirez. My chicken tacos had many hard pieces of fat or something in the meat. I went with a party of three and none of us were blown away. Their mango margaritas were the only thing that I'd go back for, they were great! I was disappointed in this place. When you walk in we had to wait a few. The menu was very confusing. I didn't have enough time to read the menu which is a good thing but I didn't want to wait. I ordered the enchiladas with cheese. We ordered the cheese con caso that was ok no flavor. I waited for my food when my son got his before nine. Then what bothered me the most was the ac was being worked on. They brought a tall laddar and they were working on it in the middle of service. This owner has been a family friend since he was part owner of another establishment, that being said, I am not biased when I say that this is some of the best authentic Mexican food you can get outside of mom's house. This place blows which sucks because I live right around the corner. I read the reviews before I went so I knew the service was going to suck and they were all right. Terrible service which is definitely a management issue. Bright spots - tortillas are freaking great and the charro beans are good too. Luckily they screwed up and brought me charro instead of refried or I never would have known (glass half full). Salsa is boring, rice is just ok, couldn't tell ya about the refried beans never got them. Crispy tacos were bland, fajita meat was torched, they brought them out on the sizzling plate and I immediately scraped them off onto another plate because I could tell just by looking they were way over cooked. I'll probably try the posole and a couple of other things but it will definitely be take out, never eating inside again and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.....ever. Great friendly restaurant you have to try at least once or a couple times a month!!

Rarely is it my preference to dine at Tex Mex restaurant even though I love Mexican food. This is partly because I'm rarely impressed with the Mexican restaurants in my hometown. However, my opinion changed when I came to Ramirez's Café and ate their veggie omelet. I know what you're thinking, that's not a very authentic Mexican dish, which is correct. However, the omelet was prepared perfectly in my opinion a.k.a loaded with tons of veggies! My omelet looked like a chicken pot pie because it included peas, carrots, broccoli, corn, corn, and spinach! The vegie to cheese ratio was well balanced and portion was huge! Now the things that I did find authentic and impressive were the green and red salsa and homemade corn and flour tortillas! Seriously, ask if you can take half a pint of both salsa's home because they didn't have a lot of onion in them and were still packed with tons of flavor and had a very low heat. Why the 3 stars then you ask, well, the service leaves little to be desired as it is slow as Christmas. I'll have to come back and try one of their lunch or evening meals to give a more accurate review on their other specialties. But definitely dine here for breakfast if you're not in a rush. read more

If the margaritas were better you could at least drink until you didn't care how bad the food is... then there's the service... Lord have mercy... it's worse than the food!!! I have been several times, probably close to 10 and when we first started going it wasn't bad but it has gotten worse with each visit. ok so I'm willing to over look the old decor or perhaps the discussing bathroom but these people just don't care at all! my husband and i went in here we ordered food everything was fine then once they brought us our food it was the wrong thing? so we politely asked if there was a mix up the water was just mean about it like we ordered the wrong thing. we said ok don't worry about it we will just leave. that is when they demanded we pay for the food that they brought us even though it wasn't what we ordered. not only did we have this problem but there was a guy sitting eating for a to go order and being the only other person in the building i couldn't help but observe what transpired. the man got his food no payed for it then left not 5 minutes later the man was back with his bag of food saying that they have him something he didn't order (and no it wasn't our food) on top of them messing up his order they forgot something i don't know what but the manager accused the man of lying and trying to get free food and it was just to much. save your time and go somewhere else this place is a mess! read more
