    Entree accompaniments

Delicious! We stopped in not really headed here but hadnt tried it so thought why not. Its spacious inside smelled clean and we were greeted immediately. Expansive and affordable menu we opted for the queso flameado with chorizo. Amazing!! So flavorful and huge portion. My husband ordered the pollo blanco, a large cutlet maybe 12oz topped with cheese and some peppers/onions with rice and beans and giant homemade tortillas. I opted for a parillada of sorts with rice beans and typical accompaniments. Grilled plate had sausage, chicken and beef fajita and Mexican style ribs. The flavor definitely tasted like the meat was sourced from a carniceria. Service was great, timely refills and check and helped bag our generous leftovers!! Give them a try if you lean a bit more to authentic texmex!

Gorditas super delicious would definitely come back to this restaurant customer service is excellent as well

Food is super delicious and customer service is awesome definitely coming back !!! Our family loved it!

The fajitas for one, no flavor no knife would cut it. Disappointed

I do not recommend this restaurant. The food lacked amy flavor. Even the guacamole was mehh. Ignored at the bar for 20 minutes. Restrooms are dirty. Margarita on the rocks was lousy. Cold as shit in here too. No one was working at the bar - server came from tables. Rice no flavor, cold. Beans not eatable. Disappointed.

Tacos a la Mexicana - delicious!

I had the Tacos a la Mexicana (2 beef tacos, some salad with avocado, rice, and beans on the side) and it was delicious. I wish the tacos had some kind of wet dressing on them, because the tacos were a little dry. Even salsa would've been nice. The meat was very flavorful. A friend had chile con queso that I tried, and it was very good. A group of 12 of us went on a Sunday 1pm, and though the restaurant was busy, we got a table promptly without wait. Plenty of parking outside the restaurant. Kind and prompt waiters.

This is a truly amazing, hole-in-the-wall sort of restaurant. It's a Mexican restaurant that Mexicans actually eat it, so you know it can be trusted. I was first brought here by a regular who swore by the place. The enchiladas are amazing, the queso is liquid gold, and the prices used to be unbelievable. You could have lunch for two people for under $20. They are opening a new restaurant on El Camino, so prices have increased. Now a $20 lunch has turned into a $30 lunch, which still isn't terrible, but makes me think twice about coming now.

We went for breakfast and were not expecting too much. The Papas rancheros were very good, however, the bacon and sausage...?? The bacon is deep fried like French fries (ewww) and the sausage was a hot dog cut long way in 3 slices. That is NOT sausage.

**This is a 3.5 star rating.**…read more The food and service here are good, while the atmosphere is excellent. We came here with friends on a Thursday night. The place was busy but not overly crowded. Chips and salsas were brought to the table immediately, and our server didn't rush us to order. Though I'm typically a bean and cheese nacho guy, the chicken and beef fajita nachos here were delicious and, believe it or not, they didn't seem heavy. They keep the Pozole Verde traditional here, with some cilantro on the side. Though I didn't try it, our friend said it was delicious. I had my eyes on the Cecina Plate, which is a classic dish from Mexico of very thinly sliced beef that has been air-dried (sort of like jerky) and then cooked, sliced and served to go on a tortilla, along with some grilled queso fresco and avocado. The flavor was good, but the meat itself was a little on the tough side. (Authentic Mexican cecina is supposed to be juicy and very tender -- almost soft.) Still I enjoyed it, as I did the refried beans, which weren't overloaded with lard like so many other versions out there. I only wish that the plate had come with the salsa macha as advertised. I asked our server about it, and he said "They're warming it in the kitchen, and it'll be right out." It never arrived. Speaking of salsa, if you are one of the three people who read my reviews, you know that I'm a salsa snob. Rule #1 -- no cumin. Rule #2 -- salsa is better when it is served cold. These folks abided by my first rule, but they serve the salsa warm here. It's a roasted salsa and was actually quite flavorful, but it would be so much better served cold. The green salsa here has wonderful jalapeno flavor and plenty of bite. This place definitely knows how to create salsa. Bottom Line: I plan on returning. I glanced at some traditional Tex-Mex platters as I was walking through the place, and they looked divine. I'm looking forward to trying them.

Our go dishes are the southwest eggrolls app, al pastor bowl, and our favorite dish the skirt steak fajitas. The fajitas here are marinated well and super tender. Not sure if there's new management or what has changed. Today was the final straw. My wife and I came in for lunch on Memorial Day shortly after they opened. The restaurant wasn't busy and there were plenty of servers working. We were brought chips and then completely forgotten about. We sat there for 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to come back and even take our drink order. Nothing. What made it worse was watching multiple servers walk right past us without ever making eye contact or checking on us. We finally got up, moved to the bar, and ordered our food there instead. We did let the hostess know about our experience, but no manager or staff member ever came over to apologize or even acknowledge the situation. Really disappointing considering how long we've supported this place.
