We have been visiting Los Reyes since we moved here in 2005. But lately the experience has been falling off. Tonight I ordered fried shrimp which I previously said was the best in town. These were smaller than usual, dry and tough like they were overcooked or had been sitting around for a while. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time, so it was not due to a busy evening. It comes with salad and french fries. I asked for ketchup, and was told that they were out! So I had to go out and scrounge around in my car first a couple of packets of ketchup. The only salad dressing they had was ranch. Then the price went up from $14.99 to $18.99 if you pay by credit card, they add 3% to cover the bank fee. I'm sorry, but they appear to be struggling to stay open and it shows. No more shrimp here for me. read more

This strip mall in the CP could turn out to be a foodie gold mine. There is Sushi Moto at one corner and Ecuadorian Chocolate at the other end and almost next door sits Los Reyes. With the abundance of Mexican restaurants in the area, Los Reyes can easily be overlooked but not anymore for us. We stopped by for breakfast and it's an easy 4 plus star review. Plus one ordered her favorite carne guisada with brown gravy. Do not try and serve her red gravy! Her review "this tastes just like my moms". And yes, her mom was a great cook. My huevos rancheros was one of the best this side of the Rio Grande. My eggs were perfect over easy but the star was the potatoes. Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Speaking of spice the salsa is legit thick and with a bit of a kick. I left full and was good to go until dinner time. Service was wonderful, period. Grabbed carry out from Los Reyes over the weekend, very happy with it! Simple order... caldo de pollo and el mexican plate with fajita chicken and barbacoa. When picking up, I needed one more hand, so one of the waiters followed me out to my car with the rest of the order! That was nice... the restaurant itself is larger than you'd like from the outside. It's in the corner of a strip mall, and opens up in a wedge shape when you walk in. The caldo de pollo was probably one of the best we've had in ATX! Delicious! The single order of the soup came with three whole chicken thighs, skin on... a good clue as to why the soup is so good! Whole bone-in chicken thighs, with skin, a great base for the soup. The meats in the plate were good. The barbacoa was a bit on the salty side, likely from cooking down a bit on the stove, still tasty though. The beans and rice were good too! A complimentary bag of chips with salsa was not requested but was included in the order. Another nice touch! We'll try Los Reyes again soon. Recommend you do too...! read more

My friend and I visit at least once a week for ritas and gossip. The salsa kicks and they've added a black bean salsa which is awesome! The margs are really good and I compare if I dare order from anywhere else..... This is my go to place for a quick rita fix! read more

Upon arrival we were greeted not bad customer service we were being attended. The water was to water down the Sprite didn't have enough gas in it. The only thing that I liked was the Mexican Coke we ordered the nachos. It came in such a little Quality upon eating the food, I would say it was a bit average, but it's the after effects that really got my gears grinding. So as soon as I got home, food has knocked me out to a deep sleep for about three hours, but I get wake up with a constant pain in my stomach feeling like I have to throw up and shit at the same time and my poops were solid, but after that after waking up, I had diarrhea was throwing up. I used to love this place. Now, not so much. Flavorless ground beef and rice. Salsa Verde tastes like a chemical. Cheese is so over processed, I wouldn't even call it cheese. We went to Los Reyes for dinner. We hadn't been there for 2 years and decided to give it another chance. My husband had cheese enchiladas and I had chicken tacos. The food was excellent. He had charro & refried beans and I had double rice, because I don't care for beans. Everything was cooked perfectly, served hot and quick. Trey was our server and he was top notch. Very personable yet professional, drinks refilled without asking. Prices were very reasonable. We decided that this is now our favorite Mexican place in our area. The dining room was clean. There were only a couple of tables filled, so it was pleasingly quiet. The restroom was clean. Great job, Los Reyes and Trey. read more

I've actually been here a few times and always get lost in the food and company that I forget to take pictures and write reviews. Well not this time. However , it was a small order but the food was perfect. I don't push how amazing the meal is here ,but the service is always fantastic. Typically high school or early college kids as well. So, it's fun and fast. The food is vast. So much. So good. This time I ordered the papsitos nachos with chicken and since it was cinco de Mayo - a mango margarita. The waiter was very nice so this review is not a reflection of him but the food was really not good at all. The chicken enchiladas I order were simply the worst I've had and the rice was so bland. I tried just picking at the chicken in the enchiladas so I could avoid the soup of cheese but the chicken was too bland. This has been the best place for our date days.... We have been coming here every other Thursday for the past 8 years. The staff and owners are amazing and truly know how to take care of their patrons. The food is by far the best Mexican food around. Stopped in for breakfast over the weekend. Clearly, the restaurant was suffering from being understaffed like so many restaurants. However, the Migos Rancheros with egg was very good and although service was struggling due to a large party, they did the best they could. Breakfast was very tasty and flavorful and served with a nice salsa and good homemade flour tortillas. read more

I love Los Reyes. Look, there is literally a Mexican restaurant on every corner in Cedar Park. Most all of them are at least decent. For me, what set Los Reyes apart is their breakfast. They do migas about six ways to Sunday and every way I have tried them has been delicious. The migas with bacon are amazing. You can tell they fry everything up in the bacon fat (a trick I now employ at home for my own migas) and it gives the migas a unique flavor. What else? Look the decor is pretty run of the mill and their dinner fare is solid but not exceptional (though I'm not even sure what exceptional would look like when it comes to Tex-mex). All of which knock it down to four stars for me. However, if you're looking for a Mexican breakfast that is above the rest then I recommend a stop at the King...Los Reyes! read more

I dropped in last Sat when I need a quick bite. Plenty of folk in the place so it looked passable. I need something fast so I ordered the pork chops. It took longer than usual because I got there just after a large group. The pork chops look great... then I tried to cut into them. I actually had to saw at them with a serrated steak knife !! Black beans and rice were fair, but based on the toughness of the chops, I could not recommend this place to anyone. The chips and salsa were acceptable. read more

We ordered the Parrillada Fajitas with one chicken enchilada & one flauta. It was super easy to order online & this was our first time ordering from here. I would say the inside reminds me of a dive bar, super dark inside. No problem with picking up our food & the hostess was extremely nice. The food.... Mhmm just okay. The chicken was only white meat so it was pretty chewy & was bland. The best part of the fajitas was the beef & shrimp. The carnitas were just okay, pretty bland as well. The chicken enchilada was not good at all. The shredded chicken inside of it was super dry with no flavor. The tortilla was wet and the cheese was nuked from being microwaved. I was in Cedar Park at lunch time. I was so starving and didn't see many restaurant choices nearby. So I just walked into this Mexican restaurant although I don't like Mexican food at all because I don't like rice and beans. After I sat down, I realized it's not my type of restaurant at all. It seems most customers are male Caucasians with tanned skin and wearing baseball cap. Is this a baseball cap club? Also they all look like Larry the cable guy to me. So it's odd to see me, Asian woman sitting there. I don't like their lunch special menu which is full of taco and burritos. So I chose to order from dinner menu. I had fajita beef and Monterrey steak. Surprised to me! Both of them taste really good. The service is really good too. The waiter was smile to me the whole time. Consistency is key! Came here Saturday and Sunday, it was like night and day! Saturday I ordered barbacoa with eggs and pico de gallo, perfect! Nothing was greasy, everything hot. Sunday, I ordered the steak and eggs! What the heck? The eggs I asked for over easy, they came out hard, no runny yolk. The steak, I wanted medium well, it came out half well done and half medium rare. How did they manage that, plus it was as tough as leather! Too top it off, they had no steak knives, just a butter knife. I struggled cutting, so I gave up and just used my fingers. The steak must have been defrosted, that's why it was tough! Tasted the beans, very greasy, just like the 1 chopped up potato! Must have been old grease, it was gross! Now I must end this here and run to the facilities! Oh and poor service today! We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and enjoyed some stellar service and great food. My wife enjoyed a plate of migas with refried beans taters ....and tortillas of the homemade variety, hers was very good but my carne guisada taco and my chorizo and egg taco were even better, everything was as good as the service and coffee.
