Had to bring it down a star because it's good but King Taco pwns this place. This place is great, especially if you don't feel like throwing down tons of cash at other nearby, fancier Mexican joints. In terms of taste of the meat/filling choices, I'd rate them from best to worst as Chile Verde, Al Pastor, Lengua, Vegetarian, Fish, Asada, Chicken. The tacos are good, but my favorite thing to order from here are the tortas. Hey, I just missed out on being the 100th review! While a part of me wishes that they'd fry their fish tacos instead of grill them, this is a solid place to pick up some good Mexican. I prefer their sopes and nachos (although the latter is barely real mexican food) with their red salsa, and whenever I find myself needing a quick fix of mexican and happen to be in the Pasadena area, I pick up the groupon deal and go. I still think that Lupita's in Long Beach is the best place for Mexican in the LA area, but you can't go wrong here. Ok so bought a $40 groupon to this place for $15! What a great score! Went with 2 other people and we were able to get 2 full orders of carnitas nachos, a carnitas plate, a combo platter, and drinks! Everything is NOT wonderful, but there are several winners on the menu: nachos, a 1/2 order is plenty and comes with your choice of meat on top (wonderful); regular burrito, very large and stuffed with meat and beans (wonderful); breakfast (all very good); and salsa bar is good (but hot!). This was a fun little place. I enjoyed the music they played a lot. I am not a vegetarian, however I had the potato tacos and thought to myself, "Maybe I could be a vegetarian if I could always eat these!" You should try them for yourself. I know, potato tacos right? That's weird! But trust me on this one! Also had a ground beef sope which was AWESOME...even as leftovers the next day it was delicious. We ordered the guac while we were there and when we got it it was way to salty. This place is pretty good; although not the best around town. The asada plate is a good choice, very tender and has a decent taste to it. I've also had a tostada with shredded beef which I liked. Their salsa bar features watery choices, so get a side of pico if you like that stuff as much as I do. I frequently purchase their groupons because it was a good deal until they started raising their prices. I believe if you get a combo burrito with meat, it will now go for about $9. This is no way Chipotle quality so I am not sure why they are charging more. The last two times I've frequent this place the carne asada and birria were both dry and very salty. Their only saving grace are their nachos..but at $10 for a large...it's not worth it. Food is bland and overpriced for what it is. When I say overpriced, I mean that I could have gone to an actual sit down restaurant, gotten more food, and had an actual waiter for less than what Los Tacos charged me. And then there is the cashier, whom was condescending and rude. I don't know what was going on in her head, but she overcharged me AND got my order wrong. Really?? Great Mexican food. This place is not fancy, and you order at the counter and pick up your food, but it is fresh, hot and made to order. I ordered a carnitas burrito, and the meat was moist, flavorful, and very tender. I love me a good burrito, and it was mighty tasty, and a large portion too! They also have a salsa bar, with an outstanding avocado salsa that has a bit of heat, with a nice creamy avocado flavor. YUMMY! The problem is that they don't always have it. I asked once when it wasn't there and was told they don't make it anymore. UPDATE: Although the food is great, and the pricing is very fair, I have stopped going here because of a very rude clerk. I have experienced her rath on several occasions, so I know she isn't just having a bad day. As an FYI, she is Latino and has highlighted hair and false eyelashes. She sighs when we order, gives disdainful looks, never smiles, and gives attitude when you ask about a menu item. Checked their website in advance to make sure they served rellenos. When i got there at 11am (they open at 10) they said it wasnt ready so i had to get something i really didntt want. I have been to Los Tacos about 6 times so far....all on Groupons that we purchased. The Groupons make this overpriced average tasting mexican fare more palatable. I have had far worse, but there is food that is just as good if not better for less money. The burritos are very generous portions and tasty, but as mentioned in a previous review, they cannot be picked up to eat. Their best dish is the Chili Relleno...best we have had...we all agreed on that one. My partner is hooked on their Cerviche plate. My major complaint there is the service. Every time I have been there the girls behind the counter are consistently far from friendly. They are at best sullen, humorless, and void of personality, and at worst rude, condescending and most unwelcoming. We have more Groupons and will go until they are gone, but after that, I would have little motivation to return. read more

BEST MEXICAN IN PASADENA!!!! So I barely ever say this but in my opinion, this is THE BEST EVER!!! If I want tacos, I drive 20 miles from LA just to eat their food, its THAT GOOD!! I love their food. We discovered this place while we were antique shopping one day and DON'T LET THE FASCADE FOOL YOU. The food is incredible. It totally looks like a little hole in the wall, but their tacos and tortas are the best. The staff is nice, not overly talkative and friendly but very polite, they are knowledgeable about the food and are always happy to accomodate any special needs. My partner has a bean allergy so Mexican food can be a little dangerous but they take special care. We often take our friends to this place if they are having a craving for an awesome taco, and they are always swearing by the food at the end of the meal. the portions are huge and the salsa bar is very complimentary to all of their dishes. There aren't more than 5 stars but if there were, this place would warrant all of them. read more
