Very good counter serve cafe offering lots of food options but famous for their popular lobster rolls. They don't skimp out on the lobster portions and they are extremely fresh and delicious. Beware of market price though, each lobster roll was $38, which was double the price of all of their other menu items. The chicken tenders were also very good, crispy and tender. You order at the counter and they have outdoor seating which can be full during weekends. There is a huge paid parking lot that is right by the beach so you can enjoy a nice stroll after enjoying their food. Great location right by the beach and friendly staff. read more

Such a special place, we come here often. We also go to Young's at Salt Creek. But sadly we are devastated that the menu has changed. The veggie bowl is no longer available. That's a regular order for me at least once a week . I know many, many people that that is all they order. There are no options without meat. I literally have friends who fly in from Washington and Colorado that I have to take straight to Lost Pier or Young's just for the veggie bowl. Really great spot if you're looking for a spot on the beach. Not too many places in OC to dine right on the sand. This is one of them and the food is great. Got the fish tacos and the ceviche and boy was it good. Definitely recommend getting both of those if you go. They use local rock fish which tasted great. They have a beer and wine license if you're looking for something to drink. Overall, great spot to head to. Bring a towel or chain to sit on the sand as there aren't a lot of spots to sit and it does get busy!!! read more

Lost Pier Cafe, my goodness. Out of all the times I've been to this beach, I have been missing out. Wow. I literally judged this book by its cover and won't do that again. I honestly thought it was just a fast food snack, fries, bags of chips and burgers type of joint. Literally. The last time we went to Aliso Creek Beach, the hubby decided to grab some food. Total surprise to me because it's not like him to buy stuff at places like this. What we ordered; 1) ceviche with chips - holy moly. The ceviche was so fresh, so tasty, absolutely delicious. The chips were seasoned oh so good. My first bite was amazeballs. 2) fries with garlic aioli - I couldn't stop eating this one either. That aioli was perfection. **note that they use environmentally friendly food containers and utensils. That's a big deal and I am thankful that they're conscious of waste. I wish we had more to eat but next time we will definitely sit down at the tables and order the following; -clam chowder -lobster sandwich -ceviche (again) -tuna poke bowl -fish and chips -fish tacos -grilled chicken caesar salad -cheese burger -cheese quesadilla -tuna melt -fried chicken sandwich -beer, coffee drinks My my. The food at this place is overrated, but decent overall for a quick beach side lunch. The fish and chips were alright. The fish was lightly battered, but lacked flavor. The fries were crispy. The lobster roll was meaty, but on the chewy side and needed seasoning. Hot dog was alright and should have been served warmer. The employees were friendly and things move fast, even on a busy weekend. *Delayed post from Jan '25 This beach front cafe really surprised the hell out of us! This is nothing like your typical fast food beach shack. The quality of everything we ordered was very high despite its relaxed vibe directly on the beach. While the food took a little time to come out and they got one of our orders incorrect, it was well worth the wait since they cook everything fresh. There was also plenty of parking available, both metered and free for restaurant customers. The Breakfast Burrito was encased in a thick tortilla that kept all the contents nicely snug inside, but it wasn't overly heavy. The bacon bits in the center were thick and not overcooked. The hash browns were more like Piknik potato chips than hash browns due to their crispiness, which honestly added a great texture to the burrito in comparison to undercooked potatoes that tend to cause mushiness. The tortilla chips on the side were super thin, reminiscent of Chili's chips, but the Tajín seasoning and spicy yet tangy salsa elevates it so much. The French Toast was visually very appealing with lots of colors from the berries and a white dust of powdered sugar. I appreciated that the fruit was properly ripened, delivering flavor and sweetness with every bite, and the large amount of toasted almond slices brought in a good balance of nuttiness and crunch since the other ingredients are soft. Since they used brioche bread, the french toast itself was even eggier than normal, which I personally prefer to make it a heartier meal. The maple syrup was a classic choice, but I think a fruit reduction would have taken this to another level since the syrup is too easily absorbed and could use more moisture. The Fish and Chips was our least favorite as we originally ordered the fish tacos, but it was still tasty. There was a significant amount of lightly battered fish, fried to a perfect golden brown and had an audible crunch with every bite. Almost reminded us of the crispiness you get in vegetable/egg roll wrappers. While the texture was spot on, the fish itself wasn't well seasoned, so the tartar sauce and lemon wedges were definitely needed to provide acidity and salt. The fries are double battered, similar to Checkers/Rally's fries, but without all the black pepper. We added some of the Tajín from the chips and LOVED it! They should seriously consider this as an optional seasoning. They could even add it to the fish for a spicy kick. read more

Went here a couple of weeks ago with my two toddlers. I took a bite of this burrito, closed the box, walked to the park nearby, set it on the picnic table, took my kids out of the stroller, turned around & a dozen seagulls literally ate the entire thing. I went back after an hour to tell this gal that I had only a bite, but that seagulls came, I was thinking about ordering another one & she says to me, don't worry girl I got you, you're hands are full, you're the perfect victim for these seagulls...
