The tuna bowl had barely a scoop of tuna and was covered with rice and greens. Fish and chips were tasty but not memorable. Overall, the food isn't bad but nothing super special for the price. What made up for this was how friendly all the workers are. The drinks were great and the spot itself was clean with a great view of the ocean. You can easily walk on the beach or walk to the cafe if you're hanging out at the beach. Lots of seating but can imagine on a busier day, seating would be difficult to find a table. I'm glad that this place is finally busy and getting the recognition it deserves because it has gone through so many changes over the years. And if anything, a beach always needs a beachfront café. With that, I have only ever had the banana mocha iced latte. And it's delicious so I'm not a huge banana fan, but it's just subtle enough with the mocha that it's really flavorful. However, all of the food items I've seen served from the café look incredible. And some of the people that we've sat near on the beach even commented how delicious the food was. The burritos look amazing the burgers looking incredible. And everything is actually reasonably priced, considering you are right oceanfront. I think on average things are around $14. There's like a lox and bagel sandwich for 18 I think. They even have a small cocktail menu. It is paid Parking. I recommend having the Laguna Beach city app for that and I'm not sure if there's an actual café parking. I think it's just for the employees and service is super friendly too and ambience come on. First of all, you can't beat the location. It's on the sand! There's limited seating but it's not a huge deal because of the quick-ish turnaround. I'm sure many people take their food to-go and eat on the sand too. Parking was fairly easy as well because it's right next to a lot that you pay for by the hour. We were a little bummed that they have a strict cutoff for breakfast because we were really craving breakfast food. To be fair, it's rare for places to serve breakfast until the afternoon. We ended up ordering a burrito, fries, and a soft drink for lunch. It's pretty expensive for a quick beach spot, but the portions were a good size and shareable. Our burrito came with chips but in general, you have to order sides (like fries) separately. You do get a big portion and they offer free drink refills too. I think those 3 items came out to almost $40.00 not including the parking so just take that into consideration. Also, don't rely on the Yelp photos because their menu changes. This small gem posted right on the boardwalk had an amazing menu of food; from cheeseburgers, to fries, to sandwiches. I tried their ceviche and it did not disappoint. The serving size was a little small, but more than enough to satisfy an appetite. Very good counter serve cafe offering lots of food options but famous for their popular lobster rolls. They don't skimp out on the lobster portions and they are extremely fresh and delicious. Beware of market price though, each lobster roll was $38, which was double the price of all of their other menu items. The chicken tenders were also very good, crispy and tender. You order at the counter and they have outdoor seating which can be full during weekends. There is a huge paid parking lot that is right by the beach so you can enjoy a nice stroll after enjoying their food. Great location right by the beach and friendly staff. read more

I wanted to have breakfast by the ocean on Tuesday to celebrate my birthday and I decided to go to this cafe. It was my first time but the reviews of the food, service and location got my interest. I'm so happy I went there. The location is perfect by the beautiful beach. The food that my husband and I ordered was delicious which was a breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich, beignets, coffee tasted gourmet. We also had a few refreshing mimosas. I honestly thought it was just a fast food snack, fries, bags of chips and burgers type of joint. Literally. The last time we went to Aliso Creek Beach, the hubby decided to grab some food. Total surprise to me because it's not like him to buy stuff at places like this. What we ordered; 1) ceviche with chips - holy moly. The ceviche was so fresh, so tasty, absolutely delicious. The chips were seasoned oh so good. My first bite was amazeballs. 2) fries with garlic aioli - I couldn't stop eating this one either. That aioli was perfection. **note that they use environmentally friendly food containers and utensils. That's a big deal and I am thankful that they're conscious of waste. Really great spot if you're looking for a spot on the beach. Not too many places in OC to dine right on the sand. This is one of them and the food is great. Got the fish tacos and the ceviche and boy was it good. Definitely recommend getting both of those if you go. They use local rock fish which tasted great. They have a beer and wine license if you're looking for something to drink. Overall, great spot to head to. Bring a towel or chain to sit on the sand as there aren't a lot of spots to sit and it does get busy!!! read more

It's a hidden little gem right across from Aliso Creek Beach, and a big plus for us was that it's dog-friendly. Just a heads up: dogs are allowed on the beach from September through June. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was filling and solid overall. The standout for me was the crunch from the hash browns paired with the salsa. My wife went with the Maine-style lobster roll and really enjoyed it. For a beachfront spot, the outdoor seating area was clean and well kept. The music was on point too--laid-back Pacific reggae that set the tone perfectly. Service was spot-on; the cashier was friendly and helped us decide on our orders. *Delayed post from Jan '25 This beach front cafe really surprised the hell out of us! This is nothing like your typical fast food beach shack. The quality of everything we ordered was very high despite its relaxed vibe directly on the beach. While the food took a little time to come out and they got one of our orders incorrect, it was well worth the wait since they cook everything fresh. There was also plenty of parking available, both metered and free for restaurant customers. The Breakfast Burrito was encased in a thick tortilla that kept all the contents nicely snug inside, but it wasn't overly heavy. The bacon bits in the center were thick and not overcooked. The hash browns were more like Piknik potato chips than hash browns due to their crispiness, which honestly added a great texture to the burrito in comparison to undercooked potatoes that tend to cause mushiness. The tortilla chips on the side were super thin, reminiscent of Chili's chips, but the Tajín seasoning and spicy yet tangy salsa elevates it so much. The French Toast was visually very appealing with lots of colors from the berries and a white dust of powdered sugar. I appreciated that the fruit was properly ripened, delivering flavor and sweetness with every bite, and the large amount of toasted almond slices brought in a good balance of nuttiness and crunch since the other ingredients are soft. Since they used brioche bread, the french toast itself was even eggier than normal, which I personally prefer to make it a heartier meal. The maple syrup was a classic choice, but I think a fruit reduction would have taken this to another level since the syrup is too easily absorbed and could use more moisture. The Fish and Chips was our least favorite as we originally ordered the fish tacos, but it was still tasty. There was a significant amount of lightly battered fish, fried to a perfect golden brown and had an audible crunch with every bite. Almost reminded us of the crispiness you get in vegetable/egg roll wrappers. While the texture was spot on, the fish itself wasn't well seasoned, so the tartar sauce and lemon wedges were definitely needed to provide acidity and salt. The fries are double battered, similar to Checkers/Rally's fries, but without all the black pepper. We added some of the Tajín from the chips and LOVED it! They should seriously consider this as an optional seasoning. They could even add it to the fish for a spicy kick. read more

My friend and I were hungry after spending time at Treasure Island, and so we found this place on yelp and decided to try it out. I'm glad we did because wow was the food good. Yes, it is a bit on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for, at least when it came to what I got that day. I wanted the tuna melt but they said they replaced it with the chicken bacon sandwich which was not on the menu when I was looking. I ordered that and it was mega huge. I wish I got a photo. They used hamburger buns instead of sandwich bread. It was just really delicious. The only thing was that the bacon wasn't as crispy as I would like. I believe you have to pay for parking in the lot so we just parked on the street. read more

We have loved coming to Lost Pier ever since we first discovered this amazing place by the beach. The comfortable patio setting and breathtaking ocean views keep us coming back. We even spotted a whale here once! Over the past couple of days, the surf has been huge and the beach has been heavily affected by the waves, so we were pleasantly surprised and grateful to see Lost Pier still open for business. We truly appreciated being able to enjoy this special spot despite the conditions. A special thank you to Jordan and the entire staff for their kindness and hospitality. Went here a couple of weeks ago with my two toddlers.
