Breakfast was diverse enough and delicious. Normally in Germany you find single rooms come with small beds .. but the beds at this hotel were at least 160cm wide and comfy. The hotel does not have an elevator, but they will help with luggage if you wish. Our room was on the 3rd floor, but my husband and I did not mind the walk up with our carry-on bags. We were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was quite large, with lovely views from the windows, updated bathroom, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever had. Even though it was January, my husband and I still enjoyed walking the grounds, enjoying the vineyards, courtyard, gardens, pond, and statuary. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was definitely plentiful, with a wide variety of both hot and cold offerings. We only stayed one night here due to other obligations, but I wish that we could have stayed longer. If we have opportunity to travel to Germany again, we hope we can stay at Schloss Edesheim once again!

The stairs are wooden and make me a little uneasy in case of fire been in a few fires and know the problems in emergency! This hotel has a modest front, but spacious interior. I was put in the "historical wing" of the hotel, with limited access by lift, but no worry, there are young staff with strong arms to help me with my suitcase :-). Soon after checking in, I received a visit from their guest relations manager, who brought a large bottle of mineral water, a small box of chocolates and a coupon for drinks at their bar. She also booked the airport shuttle for me - well, basically one can trouble her for any needs. The room itself, I believe, is newly renovated, with crispy clean bedding, soft, fluffy and shining white towels (very important for yours truly). If you don't mind walking, exit the hotel, turn right, and you can easily walk to the old town, to either climb up to the castle (by cable car) or wander across the old bridge to tread the "Philosopher's Walk". And you'd basically pass by dozens of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, creameries ... one won't ever go hungry! I booked my room with breakfast. It's a decent sized buffet, with every possible option for a Western breakfast - cold cuts, hot dishes, soft boiled eggs (one should eat it out of the cute egg cup provided nearby), salads, muesli, fruits, desserts, and lots and lots of breads, with packets of butter and individually jarred condiments (peanut butter, jam, honey, etc). There is a wide range of leafy tea selection, as well as juices and other drinks. One can also order a-la-carte omelets, French toast and Shakshouka etc., at no extra charge. I've been to many 5-star hotels, and this one truly deserves its star rating!

There is an entrance to the lift which takes you to the lobby direct from the parking level, seems to be a pretty standard thing with most new hotel I have experienced in Germany. The hotel is easy on the eye but be warned at the time of writing this there was a lot of building works in the area so views maybe restricted! My room was nice and tidy with all the amenities you expect in a modern hotel. The wet room shower was clean and everything worked as you would expect. I guess in the summer my room suffers from a lot of sun light as it came equipped with an electric external blind! The bed was comfy although I never understand the two duvet thing!! The restaurant/bar is not the biggest but is nicely laid out with casual seating areas along with more formal dining areas. They have a wide range of cocktails and an extensive menu. The meals were a good portion size and definitely hit the spot. As you would expect the staff were all multi lingual, friendly and helpful. I'm told it's location is ideal to walk into the old town, I didn't have time to see if this was true but if it is that's another plus point.

I know lame, but I like to experience different cultures when I'm awake, when going to sleep I need it more familiar. That being said, I enjoyed this hotel and recommend it to anyone staying in the Weinheim area.
