We've been ordering delivery from this location for years and they never disappoint. The pizzas are always delivered hot and amazing. Their deep dish is king, but their thin crust is also so good and so crispy! I recommend ordering buttercrust and all pizzas well done. The people who work there are cool too, nice service.

Sauce and sausage too small, box soaked

Ordered delivery: a Chicago special deep dish, uncut well done. It arrived a soaking mess, with the sauce and sausage too small for the pie it sat on. Really unappetizing.

I needed a new pizza spot because the last 2 times I visited a Giordano's location; they just didn't have that signature buttery crust flavor I fell in love with. Lou Malnati was the spot I opted for and what a great choice I made. I ordered my pizza online and picked it up on my drive back to St Louis. The pizza was hot and delicious. Everything was how I asked ie uncut and light on the sauce. Their pizza dough, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce do not contain any alcohol. Lou Malnati's mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and romano cheese are all made with a vegetable rennet, not an animal rennet. If you're in Chicago ,check them out.

Got so many recs to come to a branch of this pizza shop when in Chicago and I'm glad a fellow pizza lover and I went to check it out! This particular location can be really hard to find (before the brick entrance thing) because it's really small and hidden in a corner so we had to circle the area a couple of times but the people that work there were so fun and lively! While this place does sound like the Illuminati, the only mystical part about it is how they made their pizza so delicious! If you're in the Chicago area and are looking for a place to experience your pizza fix, would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Came to Chicago for the first time and was told this place was a no-brainer to visit. Their deep-dish is amazing and definitely not doughy like Giordanos or other deep dished pizza some can be. Their appetizers were amazing, too! Our favorite was their chicken wings and fried zucchini and mushrooms (definitely order their appetizer sampler). We didn't take pics of their pizza but we ordered their small pizzas to share with 3 people was fulfilling enough with only like one slice leftover! The 'Malnati Chicago Classic' and 'The Lou' pizza are a must get when you're eating here!

You cant go to Chicago without trying their famous deep dish pizza! I've heard from locals and tourists that this is the place to go. We tried to go (but it was so packed) before our fancy Michelin starred dinner and I'm really glad we didn't because BOY were these filling! So we came bright (11 AM) instead and had no problems finding a table. We had the Malnati Chicago Classic and added hot giardiniera. It came out pipping hot and FULL of meat. The cheese was perfect and stringy and the hot giardiniera had a perfect amount of heat. A small had 4 thicc slices so we were soooo full at the end. We also had the malnati salad which had romaine lettuce, bruschetta tomatoes, black olives, mushrooms, salami bits and gorgonzola cheese with sweet vinaigrette and romano cheese- This is one of the best salads I've had in a while We even carried 4 of these in frozen version and smuggled them across the boarder! I definitely recommend adding this to your Chicago eats!

This was a well-known pizza place that we saw online before our trip to Chicago, and I have to say that I'm really glad I came here! Pre-covid, this place was really crowded and so we had to wait a while to be seated. The inside can fit a decent number of people, and the servers there were pretty nice and welcoming. For the food, this pizza is hands-down the best deep-dish pizza that I've had so far. The portion sizes are huge (as expected from deep-dish), with thick crust that's crispy and hot. The flavors are great, with a ton of sauce and cheese that make it an excellent pizza. It comes pretty hot so be careful to not burn your tongue, but after that the pizza is thoroughly enjoyable and one of the best overall pizzas I've had. Overall, while the wait may be long it's definitely worth it to try one of the best deep-dish places in Chicago!

Ordered the Malnati deep dish pizza and it was just ok. The sauce was extremely watery and was all over the cardboard box. The sausage on the pizza isn't crumbled but instead a thick layer of sausage on the entire pizza. Giordanos is much better and they have a meatlovers option on the menu instead of a think layer of sausage. Will not return.

    The "Lou" Pizza
    Sai S.

Came back to Chicago after a trip to NYC and was unfortunately disappointed by the pizza representation. I ordered the "Lou" with a few extra toppings. I am not the big deep dish fan but had heard great things about the thin crust pizza here. Sadly it did not even get close to the bar, let alone meet it. To my dismay the pizza, a personal, was much smaller than I expected. Typically single pizzas are at least 8-10 " diameter. I asked for the pizza to be well done for crispier edges which did help make it crunchy, but the middle of the pizza was undercooked. Somehow the entire pie was flavorless and lacked any interesting texture besides mushy. Hope to come back another time and give some of their other specialties a chance, but I definitely had heightened expectations going into it.

If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.
