It appears you either changed your sausage or the way you now assemble your sausage pizza. In the past I believe the sausage covered the complete pizza. Tonight, yes you were very busy, but it was assembled in sausage clumps. Is this a cost cutting feature? If so the cost of my pizza did not go down. Why change something that was original. A year later, still screwing up pick-up times. They are changing their rewards soon to screw customers even more. My pizza took 55 minutes to cook when I was originally told 40. This is a norm at this location and the manager just hides behind her door without a care for customers wasting their time. I was told my pizza was taking longer due to the amount of toppings. I asked a guy who got his pizza before me "when was your pizza supposed to be ready" and his response was "10 minutes ago". Also their statement fails on the basis of logic because my pizzas when just peperoni take anywhere from 10-30 minutes longer than quoted. I have used up all my points and once my gift card balance is empty, this place won't see me walk through their doors. Despite having eaten it right when it got delivered, most of my salad was clearly old, the lettuce was already wilted by the time I mixed it into my dressing and the mushrooms were already getting brown. I have to say what's great about this place is that when you do an order online because the online system for Lou Malnati's in general is not that advanced that someone actually personally called me to clarify on what I was doing as far as extras and customizations on my pizza order. So I really do appreciate this place. It is located in a strip mall, so parking is Ample here if you're just trying to do a carry out. Because this is not a full fudge restaurant, the menu is limited as far as what you can order however, it has all of the staples and or basics of whatever you would want especially when it comes to pizzas. The staff at this location is always friendly. Most of the time our order is correct and ready on time. This location is a carry out only location and can get pretty busy. There isn't a large waiting area so if it's busy it can get really crowded. I wish they brought back curbside at this location so there would be less people packing into a small space to wait for their orders. My son loves Lou's thin crust. There's something about the crunchy cornmeal thin crust that's pretty tasty and can't be found elsewhere. The Pasta Al Malnati is pretty decent too, although I have noticed that the meat sauce comes with less and less meat with each order. I'm still boggled that pasta orders comes with half a garlic bread - I mean HALF, the top or the bottom, not a whole piece. Seriously, how much money are you really making by splitting the bread like that? Ugh - I hate restaurant owners who only cares about profits. The Malnati salad is good if you like Gorgonzola cheese, salami bits, mushrooms and tomatoes. I'm saddened that like the meat sauce, the Malnati salad is mostly packed with lettuce and less with the other ingredients. This location is carry-out only. This Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is located in a corner in a strip mall. It is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The signage is not great. The parking lot is even worse. There are not enough spots for customers to visit the businesses that are there. When it gets busy you will often need to wait for a parking spot before you can get your pizza. Once you do get inside the restaurant, the system is pretty efficient. Since this location is busy they try to get your payment and give you your order as quickly as possible. Once you have your food, going home and enjoying is the best part. Lou Malnati's Pizzeria delivers the quality that you would expect out of Lou Malnati's and lives up to that name. I will continue to use this location since it is much closer than going to a dine-in location. read more

This was my first time having deep dish--I would 100% have it again! It lived up to the hype. The sauce is on the sweeter side, generous layer of fresh mozzarella, could use a bit more sauce but the buttery crust really makes it! You'll need a fork and knife to cut into bites, which is typical of deep dish I hear. I loved it! I heard you can also order these anywhere in the U.S. frozen online and cook at home so I'll definitely keep that in mind if I ever want some in Maryland. She was patient and amazing as we tried to figure out the best combination for multiple ages.. Found a Lou Malnati's in a small strip mall in the burbs of Chicago and decided to give them a shot. Had the signature "Lou's" pizza and was not that impressed after hearing so much hype about this establishment. Maybe due to the veggies on this pie the crust was soft on the bottom and was unable to set-up correctly as a deep dish. In my opinion D'Agostinos or Rosati's has a more flavorful sauce and better signature dishes than this. Another critique would be that the website only offered signature pies instead of building your own like most other shops in the area. read more

We try to maintain a low-carb diet so we ordered a medium crustless pizza. We've had it before in their restaurant. This time we ordered a pizza for takeout. Unfortunately, the pizza is poorly packaged and it has a lot of liquid (oil) draining from the product. The cardboard box bottom was saturated by the time my wife brought it home. It then left a trail of drops on the floor because we didn't know the box was leaking. The pizza also delivers a huge dose of sodium. Be prepared to drink a lot of water. I'm a big of Lou's, but this location is terrible. I've gotten carry out/delivery a handful of times and every time there's something wrong with the order. This most recent time we received the wrong pizza and salad with meat on it when we asked for no meat on the salad. I'm a vegetarian and could not eat it. When I called, the manager told me to pick around the meat. I understand mistakes happen, but telling me to pick crumbled meat out of a salad is not very customer friendly. Lou's pizza is famous and it is always good. The carryout section has half-cooked pizza you can finish baking at home. Usually those are very good. We have often bought the frozen half-baked deep dish pizza and kept them in the freezer for the right moment as there are no Lou's near us. We drive to the Lake Zurich Lou's to pick them up. I will say just this last time we were disappointed with the ones we bought there as we chose deep dish pizzas and they were very little thicker than Lou's thin crust. Taste wise the pizzas were good, however rather skimpy. For the new higher price tag, I felt they could have been a lot thicker like they usually are. But that was just one time so far. The pizza is good, but this Mt. Prospect location has what has to be the dumbest girl I've ever dealt with taking phone orders. Tried to order a medium Lou for delivery, half with no tomatoes on top. First, she reads back the order, and says "no tomatoes". I say, "HALF!" She then says, "Half with only sliced tomatoes?" "No! Half with NO sliced tomatoes." "Do you want the mushroom and spinach and cheddar blend on it?" Are you serious? That's the f--king Lou ffs. She finally (I think) gets the tomato part. She then proceeds to read back the order, "so a large Lou..." "MEDIUM!" "That was for pick up or delivery?" "DELIVERY!!!" I ask to talk to a manager. She puts me on hold, comes back ~2-3m. later, and starts talking to me, as if it were not (painfully) obvious I've got the same girl. "You're the same girl I talked to a few minutes ago." "There is no manager here." I hung up and ordered a pizza from Pizanoz. Took me about 30 seconds to order -- without the stupidity and aggravation. The next time I call Lou's (if there is a next time), if this same girl answers the phone, I'm just not going to order. Do us all a favor: hire phone staff that aren't painfully stupid. read more

We love Lou's pizza, but I can't understand why they give us a pick up time of 6:00pm and at 6:30 we are still waiting, along with people whose pick up time was 5:45. And the lady who had a 5:45 pick up time ordered at 5:00pm. So doing the math, I would assume that it takes 45 minutes to cook a pizza. If she is waiting 45 minutes past her scheduled pick up time, it means that they did not put her pizza in to cook until close to or even after her scheduled pick up time. The lobby is full of very upset people, kitchen staff coming out with orders (some correct, some not) and 2 young girls at the check out counter just looking confused. Again, the good is awesome, service is not. read more
