Last visit 04-15-26. It's been a while since I had went to Louis Burgers and the reason for my recent visit was because too many ppl been telling me they have the best chili cheese fries. So I had to see for myself. Of course it was a long line in the drive thru when I got there lol. Don't know what the vibe was like on the inside of the restaurant. It's best to pull in off of Rosecrans being that it's more convenient to swoop in the drive thru lane. It probably took 15 mins though to order and then receive my food at the window. The service was quicker than I anticipated. I ordered the chili cheese pastrami fries. Fire !!! Out of all of the spots I've been getting chili cheese fries or any pastrami, theirs so far is the best. Still had some left over the next day. Fries were cold. Didn't wanna warm it up in the microwave. So I just finished the rest off being room temperature. Still was good. read more

I've come to the conclusion that all hood burger spots are basically the same. Everyone claims their hood spot has the best chili cheese fries, or the best burgers, but in reality once you've been to these places, they are all basically the same places with different names. I've heard for years how Louis burger was THEE place for Pastrami Chili Cheese fries. Guess what, they taste just like the Pastrami Chili Cheese fries from my hood joint J.B. Burgers. 10/10 definitely would recommend. They can get a bit busy but the wait is worth it. The line moves pretty quickly as they are on point with the orders and getting them out quickly, I love, love their asada hard shell tacos they are flavorful and worth the 4.30 they a big and spilling over the top with lettuce, onions, cilantro, cheese and tomatoes. I get mine without the lettuce. And their chicken and carne asada burrito with extra sauce is fire. I would drive from Long Beach to Compton with no problem just for those tacos and burritos. Louis' gets a 5 star just due to the fact it has been a community main stay since ai first learned of them back in the early 80's. However. Last nights look for a comfort food spot that ai knew was tasty local and that ai hadn't been to in a while resulted in Louis' making the cut. Looked the menu up on Yelp and discovered they had a Pastrami Chili Cheese zucchini fry that grabbed my attention. So ai went. Ordered that and 2 hard shell ground beef tacos with everything. And they were tasty fresh crisp and worth the pick. The sauce is an adder for sure. The staff are helpful and accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was in the drive through so ai can't say much as far as ambiance other than the adjacent parking lot and drive thru pathway were clean well lit and the line moved steadily.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Chili Cheese Pastrami Zucchini fries were pretty loaded. Cheesy with a nice amount of chili. Had them chop and fry the pastrami and let's just say that it was a hit for me in satisfying my comfort food crave. With plenty left over. Went downhill on service and food. I know. First went here over 50 years ago. Went out of the way from a trip from Las Vegas to this location with friend to taste the chili fries. While ordering, the cashier told me to move over for someone behind me to pick up their order. I told her "there is a sign above me that says order here". I ask her why she did not tell the other customer to go to the "pickup" side. She started to talk loud and give me dagger eyes look. Eventually I asked for two orders of chili fries with cooked to order fries. What I got was limp cool fries and low temperature chili in big meat chunks instead of the properly prepared Chili in the past. This restaurant employees forgot the reason why they are there. Customer service is horrible. Not sure what is wrong with these women but they always seem to be in a bad mood. Alejandra took my order today, she rushed us through ordering, didn't give a total, when I got to the window, didn't say a word, just put her hand out, I asked for chilis she charged me 66cents, just rude demeanor all around. Chili definitely does not taste like the original chili, chicken was burnt & dry, fish patty for fish sandwich was literally thin as cardboard and hard, & club sandwich had rock hard bacon and super soggy bread. How does bread get soggy if it takes me 7mins to get home after receiving the food?? You can tell everything from that fish patty to the french fries to the chicken was REDONE! Fried & then RE-FRIED! I have been a long time happy customer of the Bullis location. I don't go often, but when I do, it's always been a pleasant experience as far as the meal that I buy. On Aug 30th, I decided to stop by on the way to work for a breakfast burrito. I actually live closer to the location on Atlantic, but I always prefer Bullis, so I don't mind driving out of the way. Anyway, I asked for no other meats, but bacon only. I get in my car and leave.. As I'm eating I tasted first the bacon had pieces that wasn't fully cooked and there were a couple pieces of ham inside. I didn't want that, but I didn't make an issue. I took a couple of bites and decided to finish the rest later. I never did because later on I was vomiting everything in my stomach up. I went back the next morning with the food and my receipt and requested to speak with the manager and explained to him what happened and if I could get a refund. He flat out said No..From the beginning, He started off wrong by constantly cutting me off with a barrage of questions as if interrogating me .. asking me why didn't I come back the same day. I told him I had to work and I didn't get sick until later. He also said, "How does he know it's them who got me sick?" Just very disrespectful and unprofessional. I can see him being justified if I ate the majority of it, then have the audacity to ask for a refund, but that wasn't the case. Rather than have things escalate, I requested the owners contact information. It could be social media or an email or a number. That was refused. The manager who I spoke with did give me his name Martin(Marteen).. I just don't understand the unprofessional attitude. Bottom line, I am proud of myself for keeping my composure because it was almost like he was trying to push me to get out of character. I just chucked that $11 as a loss and a lesson to never return there again. I'm sure the owner obviously doesn't care, based upon his responses to others on Google reviews. It's a culture taught. I did not want to publicly bash them, but I was left with no choice... so here we are. My advice is no matter how uncomfortable you think you are making them feel, watch them like a hawk when your food is being prepared. Not because they will do something to it (the cooks have been there forever and are always kind and respectful and will speak to me every time).. We were at Louis Burgers today for lunch with my kids. Food is great we are regulars. We ordered over $100 worth of food and beverages. 4 of our drinks were horchatas. As soon as my kids tried the horchata they let me know how watered out it was and didn't taste great. Because we are regulars and didn't want to go and complain I told my boys to just go ahead and drink it and not make it an issue. As we continued enjoying our food they kept telling me mom it's really not good horchata it's very watered down. I told them to go and politely let them know I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. When they did go they were told they couldn't swap it because they had already drank more than just an initial sip. I politely myself go and ask for a manager because the cashier kept reiterating that policy is if you drank more than the initial sip then they can't, I would have to buy another drink. I reminded her that we just ordered over $100 worth of food my issue was not paying for another drink but just how rude they were in making it as we were begging for a free drink. We are letting you know your horchata is not good we are being polite waiting for a manager that didn't think my request was valid and he wasn't going to change the drinks, but was offered to get a refill of same drink. I was very disappointed that they told me that they were too busy to be dealing with my concern because they had a full drive thru. Trust me as a business owner I get it you were busy but as a paying customer my concern is valid and as a manager Señor Martin you should've found a better solution, just like the drive thru my issue was important too.
