I've been in Long Beach for years now and have always just passed by this unassuming place, as it sort of blends in with the other small spots around here, but honestly, that should be why it stands out. It's all of these small spots that keep us all fed during these dark times. The atmosphere here is down to earth retro, and takes you back to simpler times for sure. The people here come from all walks of life, enjoying a big plate of something. The workers here are all wonderful and treat you like you came home for a meal cooked by a people who care about you. If you're here for breakfast, get the steak and eggs and a strong cup of drip coffee to go with it. Lunch and dinner, get a burger or a dinner plate. Nothing can go wrong. No structure on placing orders since everyones crowded and not forming a line, you are better ordering in a drive thru. However I ordered their double burger and fries extremely good. Fries were well crisp with the crunch. Burger was medium well done and filling. Last three bites were tough. Highly recommend eating this food at home or outside. Our trip to Louis Burgers began with a drive to the location wondering if it was Loui-e or Loui-s. Turns out it was Louis. Anyways, our experience with the staff here was great! The gentleman who helped us was very funny and nice. The amount of food you receive for the price is surprisingly fair and well proportionate. I had the avocado burger and my bf had the supreme burger. We got a med side of fried zucchini and onion rings. The batter that they use to fry the vegetables is orange and very tasty. What was happening last night here. I've never been here before but heard that it was a staples down in Long Beach. Haven't eaten all day and needing something fast was the plan. Occasionally I would crave the fast food route and just go with something fast and easy. Well, it was wishful thinking. Right from the start with pulling into the driveway, the place was packed. There was 2 spots available for parking as we wanted to walk in and order but that didn't happened. The line to drive through wasn't moving so there was no way to park. Ended up just walking out while someone was waiting to park. Even when you walk in, the place was a little dysfunctional. People were just standing around so you didn't know who needed to order or who was waiting. There were 6 people infront of me waiting to order. The whole restaurant was packed so it must be good. Plus it could also be spring break and one of the places that was still open. Who knows.. The menu was a mixture of everything. You have breakfast dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, Mexican dishes and main entrees. A pleather of everything and the prices was very reasonable. I went with an order of the chicken quesadilla which was served with a heap of guacamole and shredded lettuce on the side. Portion was pretty massive for what it was. And an order of the chicken club sandwich which came with fries. Another item that was pretty massive. Plus a medium order of onion rings. If that order was medium, I wonder what the large would be as it was pretty big already. Plus they were ok, not major. They asked if you wanted chili peppers and ketchup upon pickup but ranch was an additional 1.05 if needed. With all that waiting and leaving, we noticed that the car infront of us when we drove in also left around the same time when they did drive through. I don't know what was going on last night but it sure brought out everyone. I guess it's a happening place. For the price, the food was quite nice and decent. Umm... yes, yes, and yes! One of the best burgers I've ever had. At first glance it looked pretty standard, but the patty had an amazing smoky flavor, and everything tasted fresh on a perfectly soft bun. And I have to mention what might be the greatest invention of all time: pastrami chili cheese fries. Absolutely incredible. Huge portions, friendly staff, and reasonable prices--what more could you ask for? You can drive in or dine in, which makes it super convenient. An old school favorite of mine I've eaten at Louis Butgers many years my guilty pleasure on occasion. Located in the heart of downtown Long Beach with on site parking you can park or use the drive through. It's an eclectic neighborhood that can get a lil krunk on occasion with good people of all races enjoying the food. Today's visit was all about the French fries baby. Chili cheese fries to be exact. Here's what I ordered today. Chili cheese fries Crunchy fries smothered in chili and cheese with a yellow chili pepper on the side. It's perfection people and so darn good. It ain't low calorie no sir this is big back food. This is deliciousness on soo my levels and I have half leftovers the fries can get a little soggy no worries I reheat them in the oven to crisp them up. My recommendations These are some of my favorite foods at Louis Burger. Pastrami with easy mustard extra pickles and grilled onions. 10/10 Hamburger with everything I add grilled onions extra tomatoes and pickles. 10/10 Side of chili Rich and delicious perfect on a pastrami a hamburger. never would have expected for chili cheese fries to hold so much nostalgia but this meal was pleasantly satisfying. there were bits of meat and the chili was the right amount of salty. he cheese on top could have been melted more so no cheese pull. of course, you're not eating at this place for vibes or aesthetics but i would say that food was pretty good (+ bonus points bc it reminded me of eating chili cheese fries at the burger place next to my old church). the double cheeseburger didn't feel greasy or super heavy at all and the patty was not dry. i think i'll frequent this place from time to time because of its proximity and cheap prices. read more

I used to go here when I first moved to Long Beach years ago. It was good back then. I haven't been in over a year and decided that I wanted something quick and inexpensive. Service is fast paced but that is kind of a red flag with diner food. Ended up ordering the tuna melt. It came out before I even got out of the restroom. I was skeptical because it wasn't hot. I sit nearby on a bench to eat and people watch. I took a photo because it looked......raw. It wasn't even cut properly. My mom told me that I should have taken it back but I didn't want to even bother. She said that she deleted the photo out of her phone when I sent it because it looked so nasty. Showed three other locals too and they were equally disgusted. I was so hungry so I kind of ignored it. I ended up eating half because it was super late and I didn't have options. Fast forward woke up in the morning with cramps, shakes, sweats, coming out of both ends. I couldn't keep water down. I was going to go to the ER but I just played it out. They have a super good pastrami chili cheese fries plate with onion which is one of the best i had from a fast-food place! The pastrami itself is pretty good also. Fries are average just like at any other place and the portions are decent. I like the downtown area. The drive thru is very small so if you have a big SUV may be hard to move around. The staff here are nice and they speak to you. There are no combo deals here so everything is separate. They're open late until 2am so that that's a bonus. I am a lover of Jewish deli foods, so when I heard that Louis III on Atlantic in Long Beach, had a great pastrami sandwich, I was a bit skeptical, since it's not a deli. The drive-thru at this location is often crowded by the after work (6 pm) customers. I noticed that the staff keep things moving by sending someone out to take orders when necessary. I did not see their Pastrami Sandwich on the drive-thru menu, but I ordered it and at just under $16 at the time of this review, I will be returning. The sandwich is generous and a little wet - which is reportedly how people like it. Dill pickle slices are on the sandwich and peperoncini is offered on the side. I added my own hot mustard at home. Was a nice destination for a Saturday morning walk, getting a tasty breakfast as our reward for the half way point. My wife and I split a French Toast plate ($9.79) with a large orange juice ($2.89). You order and pay first and then find your own seat. It was pretty crowded already with families and singles, all enjoying their breakfast casually. The food was delivered to our booth, and the waitress was nice enough to offer a second plate with utensils. The French toast was good, 2 large pieces of Texas toast with plenty of butter and syrup. Came with 3 scrambled eggs and 3 strips of bacon. The orange juice was from a bottle, which was enough for the two of us. No leftovers! I doubt people are coming to Louis Burgers III for just the 90s decor vibe. It's got to be the food which are generous portions at a great price. Huge menu and cooked on large flat top grills right beyond the counter. The mushroom burger and fries were hot and well seasoned while the Coke was cold and had plenty of carbonation. The place was packed and yet service was attentive, polite and helpful. Next time I find myself in Long Beach, this will be on my short list.
