So when I spotted a Chanel boutique while in Capri, I didn't hesitate to walk in with the hope of finding some unique styles not available in the States. The boutique is small and surprisingly didn't have much inventory. Could be due to the time of year, the last week of high season, but I was still disappointed. While my other girlfriends and their daughters had made a beeline to Gucci and basically held camp there for over an hour checking out bag after bag, my visit to Chanel lasted under 10 minutes. When I got back to my hotel I did some research and Chanel, like many of the shops, both high end and regular, are only open for the season which runs from April through October 31st. Which does explain the limited selection this time of year. Still a fan of Chanel, that will never change! Just didn't leave Capri with a Chanel bag which meant I had more money for other treasures.

My only gripe about a couple of the shops is that the sales people were so aggressive! I don't know if they work on commission, but I was told a certain size was not available at any other store but when I went to one of the other stores, I had no problem finding my size. They also didn't offer to contact the other shops to see. So, my advice is to shop all four and don't succumb to the sales pressure.

I had seen a few other places that also had sandals, however, Corcione had the largest selection that I had seen in that town. I had so many options of colors and styles that I was honestly overwhelmed. They were very friendly and were not bothered that I tried on many different pairs to narrow down the ones that I wanted. They have wrap-up gladiators as well that are not as easily seen and they can customize the length and ties to make them more flattering. I ended up with a pretty basic pair that fit great because they adjusted them to my feet, so while you can pick up some as a gift, they fit the best when you are there in person. If I ever get the opportunity to visit this part of Italy again, I would definitely stop by again and stock up.

Now truth be told, I'm not a huge Gucci fan; there are other designers I prefer. I do own 2 bags - a solid black tote and black studded crossbody bag with a tassel - and 2 pairs of Gucci sunglasses but I wasn't in the market for another Gucci. There was a slate blue satchel with a bamboo handle that I loved, but of course it was one of the most expensive bags they had. I was able to find some really cute gifts to bring home for my friends here!…read more It looks like they have a lot of embroidered linen mens shirts and clothing. I explored their vegan leather pouches and bags that came in very cute patterns. I got my friends a printed tomato purse, a wire fox terrier purse, a lobster purse, and got myself on with amalfi lemons. I didn't see these cute printed bags anywhere else along my 3week trip in Italy. I was excited that this store carried original and curated items!
