Cute little cocktail bar off of Mass St…read more I was recently in Lawrence and decided to finally stop by to try a cocktail. The interior is pretty small but they do have some seating outside-front and back. The service was good. I ordered the House Gimlet: cucumber infused gin, rosemary, orange blossom, and lime. This drink was so refreshing. It's a great drink for spring and summer. I highly recommend this drink! My boyfriend tried the Fugue State: Old overholt rye, bigallet China-china, tiki bitters, Lambrusco, and orange peel. He liked it and said it was like an old fashioned. It wasn't too strong and was really sweet. They had lots of other good sounding cocktails. I'll definitely stop by in the future.

I had no idea The Bottleneck had a couple of skylights…read more I guess I never really visited much during the daylight hours. Anyway - the venue has gone through a small renovation. They've updated the sound and lighting systems. They've also done some work around the stage, repainted and cleaned the interior and semi fixed up the restrooms. This is a fun little venue. Whoever you come to see will look and sound good and you should have a good time.

It was an all-ages show, and yes there was a baby at the bar. I mean the baby was in his mom's arms, but there was a baby at the bar. I guess they take "all ages" literally in LFK. The staff was friendly from entry to exit. not an overly crowded venue. It seems you could pluck this venue from its location and move it to Westport in KCMO and it would fit right in. I hope to be back for future shows.

The drinks are strong but creative and delicious. No food served just snacks like peanuts and such. We ordered 2 rounds: French no. 5 - their take on a French 75. A spritz of Chanel no.5 is attached to the drink. Grandma's Gun is hot and strong mulled wine. And finally we had the No Blood Only Lipstick which was the most expensive drink on the menu but worth every sip. The service is wonderful! Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Gender neutral restrooms. While the drinks are spendy, it's definitely worth the experience. If in Lawrence it's worth a stop.
