I have been on campus many times. First time was in the early 1990s for my older sister's college graduation. Most recently was to visit a museum. The buildings are beautiful, the grounds are beautifully maintained. All of the buildings I have been in were in perfect working order. All of the old living oak trees are magnificent. The Mike the Tiger habitat is amazing and larger than any place I have lived in. I have not taken any actual courses here, though I would like to.

We recently did a Residential LSU Tour for my son & the 1st thing you notice as you drive on the campus is how beautiful it is..surrounded by huge trees, water, & the very beautiful buildings..you can literally FEEL the history of the campus . And of course let me not forget the LSU Stadium..it's huge! On the residential tour we saw both types of dorms & helpful info: if your scholar stays in the residential dorms the class sizes are smaller since the classes are held there in the dorm building. Oh & I thought my kid would learn some additional life skills once he goes to college..like buying his own toilet paper BUT NO, LSU campus staff provides & changes out the dorms toilet paper!..now that's the life!! ;) We were only able to do a Residential Tour the day we visited LSU since the Campus Tours were already filled up so just FYI that the Campus Tours do get filled up fast. Doing the Residential Tour for my son was very helpful & I really recommend doing a Residential Tour when deciding to attend LSU as a student. Another Helpful Tip for my fellow parents..there is a curfew in the dorms so there won't be all night craziness going on. We'll be seeing you next year LSU..stay awesome! -Rebecca out

I visited because my boyfriend is a big fan of LSU's football team & this campus is so beautiful. Definitely feels like it's own little town.

I've had friends from LA talk about this place like it's the greatest thing, and after seeing it I get where the optimism comes from. The architecture makes for an awesome walking tour. Unfortunately there is no free parking anywhere, the welcome center is $1.50/hr.

    LSU pride.

I really want to see folks who did their undergrad (recently not hazed by time and fond memories)…read morereview LSU. I was here for a master's degree, while working full-time, and living in New Orleans, so I didn't really experience much campus-time/life. But it is a beautiful campus. The oak trees are well cared for and are mostly mature since the originals were planted for students lost in World War I. It's actually a pretty competitive school and so while it certainly deserves it's hard partying reputation. Students do have to show up for classes...or that's my understanding anyway.

200th review...why not give a well deserved FIVE STAR shout out to my beloved LSU!!! Quite fitting…read moresince they are kicking ass and taking names in terms of football, but trust me, I have stuck with the Tigers through many growing seasons! My LSU days are so fondly remembered....omg! If I knew then what I know now, I might have gotten on that seven year plan to graduation, just to stretch it out a bit. LSU can totally be what you want/need it to be. Wild party times, check. Beautiful campus, check. Awesome Scholarship opportunities, check ( I am forever grateful for that Tuition Exemption Scholarship for Non-Residents...full ride, plus a stipend?). Grinding it out at Middleton, check. Happy hour at Superior before class, check. Sharing that amazing TIger spirit at Fall Fest in the quad, check. Great foundation for later life, check. Amazing professors, check. I still draw on my experience in numerous classes with Wayne Parent and Cecil Eubanks, who challenged me to THINK in so many different ways. Weird to think that I'd even reflect back on those political science classes, esp now that I'm into anesthesia...but that's the beauty of LSU. What you gain there is good for a lifetime, and is applicable to all facets of your life. Love Purple, Live Gold.

There are vast amounts of grass and most of the year, you'll find the hustle & bustle of students and staff swarming the area. During football season, you'll find a sea of purple and gold colors that layer the grounds. Come on by, and enjoy the views of the bell tower and hear the sounds of what makes up the LSU campus. It's also walking distance to local eats and shops, in case you're in the mood for food or retail therapy. Coming for a game and don't want to put yourself in the crazy situation of finding parking? Take a ride-sharing program here. It's definitely a fun place to be, during university celebrations and big events.

Probably my favorite few places on LSU campus besides a view overlooking the stadium. Currently…read moretheir is some sort of renovation that is going on with the clock tower. However, the Parade Grounds are a wonderful spot to Picnic, Toss a frisbee, Tan, you name it. During football season the turf from the football games is placed on the Parade grounds, which keeps it in great condition. Besides a view of the Clock Tower, on the opposite side you have a beautiful view of the LSU Law Center. Perfect for graduation photos. Last, you are also right next to the student Union, where you can find ways to get involved on campus or just hangout and grab a bite to eat with friends. My average review score 3.48 when I made this review--(take with a grain of salt) (I rely on Yelp to go to places with good reviews, may account for the higher average)
