Replying to the ADA poor review. I know for a fact they have ADA accessible cabins with ramps. Did you ask for an ADA cabin when reservation was made? Also, ADA parking with ramp area to sidewalks are at every area. I have seen ADA campers in the campground, happy and return. About roots, yes plenty off the sidewalks and on trails but everything is accessible with right equipment. I know some state parks have a track type wheelchair to use. Don't think they have one. Also there are dirt roads in park which are part of the Trail system. I think they are accessible. Did you ask anyone? read more

These are just a few of the ADA violations we observed.... 1-Bathrooms have no handrails/handles for toilets nor bathtubs. My mom stayed in a cabin by herself but couldn't shower nor bathe because there were no handrails. The toilet had no assistance bars. My sister's husband is an amputee and their bathroom was just like my mom's. My family (husband/children/grandchildren) stayed in a large 8 bedroom/8.5 bathroom cabin and there was 1 toilet in that entire 7,500 sq ft cabin with disability accommodations and that was only a toilet. 2-Entire resort is full of roots disabling people who struggle to walk. There are absolutely no smooth walkways whatsoever for guests to transition from the road or their golf carts to the cabins. 3-There are no wheelchair accessible ramps anywhere on the grounds. 4-There are no listings on the website, which is the method most people use, for disabled people to identify whether or not this resort is a good fit based off of the cabin descriptions and there are over 30 cabins! This review is to complain about the cabin reservation process for Louisiana State Parks. I reserved a cabin at North Toledo Bend 4 days prior to Hurricane Laura's predicted landfall. It was predicted to hit Terrebonne parish. As the storm entered the Gulf the prediction turned to Cameron parish. Since I did not need the cabin nor did we want to go into a hurricane, I rescheduled the reservation to a different date 2 days before the reservation began. Even though I rescheduled to a different date, I was charged a user fee of $125.00 since I rescheduled the reservation within 15 days of the initial reservation date. I rescheduled the reservation in ample time for another family to reserve the cabin if they needed to evacuate. The state of Louisiana is in dire need to make money on the cabins and regardless if there is a state emergency or not they will make money one way or another. Six weeks later Hurricane Delta approached with the same scenario. This time we booked a cabin at Wildwood Resorts in Many, La. We had to cancel that reservation as well. But we were given 12 months to reschedule and was not charged any additional fee bc we cancelled within a 15 day window. If you are booking a reservation to escape a hurricane, Do Not use a Louisiana State Park. read more
