This site had posted that they close at 6 pm on Saturdays. I arrived at 5:15 pm to find the store dark and locked up like Fort Knox. I looked at the hours sign on the window next to the door to verify that indeed they do close at 5 pm on Saturdays. That killed my attending my expensive event. I live about 35 miles from the store; the event is black tie optional and I need Columbia. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I realize yelp and the guys who own and run the store are two entirely different entities. I love this store, have bought many items here, have referred a number of gentlemen who have been outfitted for nice occasions, and will likely do more business here in the future. But yelp, you really messed me up. Get your info correct. The single star is not a blight on the store. It is for information I depended upon that was incorrect and cost me several hundred dollars for nothing because of yelp.

I have a National Sales Meeting next week and needed some new work pieces - work attire for the day and a formal cocktail event for one of the nights. I found all of that as well as some every staple wardrobe pieces that should last me for years and years to come. Everything I got was gorgeous quality and absolutely beautiful on. They carry a beautiful Italian line, Perserico, that has dream cashmere pieces (I got some sweaters and a beautiful a line skirt). One of the dresses was Badgley Mischka and the other was Polo, both cocktail worthy. They carry Hudson jeans. They have their own custom pieces as well. I can't even begin to explain how gorgeous the coat I decided on is. Shoes- I got a pair of their custom tennis shoes that are just beautiful and have a thick soul, ribbon laces and just the right amount of everything. They carry Cole Haan as well and may have picked up a pair of those as well... or two. Anyways, you get the point. Gorgeous pieces that are just classic and quality. Owners, Deborah & Vaughn, were a delight and so helpful and the person that helped me through everything while I pondered over all my choices, re-tried on everything to make sure I absolutely loved everything I walked away with was Travis! So much patience, so much help and just all around great customer service. I didn't catch the seamstresses name but she was a sweetheart as well. Thank you to the Granger Owings family! A man who seemed to be a regular customer was engaging in conversation with the store manager and the other female during his transaction. When I stepped up to the counter I said "Hello," and stated that I was ready to checkout. Both females behind the counter acted as if they did not hear me, and continued the conversation with the long since paid customer, so I walked out. I came back into the store to discover that they were still engaged in the same conversation. I told the cashier, who happened to be the manager that I did not appreciate the way I was ignored. The other female got an attitude. I told them that I made a special trip to the store to shop and I didn't appreciate being ignored. She snatched to top off the counter and I asked for the corporate office contact information. I asked the clerk for her name and she scribbled something on the back. A customer did apologize for the situation. I was there to have the same experience as the person who they were ignoring me for!!!

Macy's at Columbia mall off Two Notch Rd is still operating despite the most of other stores…read moreclosed. This department store is very large inside and bustling unlike the mall it resides within. There is a Toys R Us operating within Macy's which is great to see. Two level store luggage, home goods down, clothing up. There are two entry's into interior of mall as is two levels throughout. Large selection for clothing, perfume, not very large for purses, shoes. The only store keeping this mall alive, still going strong.

The products they sold were trendy and high quality--tons of designer brands. The employees were friendly and helped when needed. The only complaint was the price point, but other than that, and it was a nice store to shop at.
