When I scheduled a session with Pamela for a boudoir photo shoot for the first time back in 2018, I…read moredid it for myself. It wasn't a gift for anyone, I wasn't creating them for my partner. I literally did it just for me, and it was one of the best gifts I ever gave to myself. Pamela was AMAZING, and the photo session and the photos changed my life. I have done three or four shoots since that time, and each has been a fun and meaningful experience. I spent the majority of my life in a very religious group that restricted women's dress and visual appearance strongly. When I was in this religion, I couldn't show an elbow, or a knee. I couldn't allow my hair to be seen uncovered. I had to wear dresses, pants were forbidden. The collarbone was considered to be immodest. There were very, very strict modesty rules. I left that religion in 2016, and started a healing journey to discover what it is to live with freedom and authenticity. Learning to feel safe in my body and feel comfortable in my body was a huge part of this journey. I had to teach my mind and body that the rules I lived with did not exist in the "real world." The first time I wore short sleeves, I felt naked. The first time I tried to buy shorts, I couldn't do it--I cried in the dressing room and left without buying anything. This is to help you understand where I started from! I eventually got past those early days, and in 2018, two years after leaving the religion, I was wanting to expand my healing further. I found out about boudoir photography, and thought--this--this is what I need to do, for myself. I had been taught that my body was "dangerous", that it had to be covered at all times. I had been taught to feel shame for the things that make me a woman. What if I could learn or experience being in my body and showing all those "forbidden" places and it be beautiful? What if I could see myself in another way? I started looking into local boudoir artists, and there was something really special that stood out to me in Pamela's work. Her energy came through, and it felt safe and inspiring. I reached out to her, told her exactly what I was looking for--that this was for me, as I healed from living in a cult for a long time. Pamela was WONDERFUL. She was so open and receptive. She provided guidance and support in the preparation, and then on photo shoot day, while I was so anxious, she was so wonderful at helping me feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. She told me exactly how to pose and what to do, and I just followed her directions. It was fun and exciting and a little scary. Just doing the photo shoot itself was healing, even without getting the images.But, when I got the photos a couple weeks later, I could not believe it. I had never seen how beautiful I was until I saw myself through her artistry. I cried seeing the photos. When I have shared them with people, they always remark how gorgeous the pictures are. I love them, and as I mentioned earlier, I have since done a few shoots after that first one. Every experience is great. I look at my photos every once in awhile, and they always make me feel beautiful and boost my confidence. Pamela is amazing! Yes, you could get the photoshoot done as a gift for someone else or for a partner. But, I suggest you do them for you.

Having to reschedule my shoot several times due to a surprise summer job, and later a last minute vacation, Lynn was very accommodating and to say the least, very patient with all the reschedules! We had a consultation early on that laid out how the shoot would work and what my package options were (there's definitely something for everyone). I settled on a special package that included a photo album, digital copies on a usb, and a digital brag book for our phones. I wasn't particularly nervous going into the shoot, as I am already very comfortable with my body, but for anyone having any doubts, I assure you that Lynn makes everything not only comfortable, but fun! Though I did not partake, there is always wine available at the shoot to help ease your nerves too! My hair and makeup was done by Erica and I'd highly recommend doing the same. It makes it so much easier to jump right into the shoot and you don't have to worry about your hair or makeup getting messed up before hand. Besides, Erica does an amazing job and made me feel gorgeous! The shoot is laid out in an apartment and Lynn walks you through all your poses, even facial expressions. She definitely knows what she is doing! It was amazing going through the photos after she was done with them....and SO HARD to choose between them for the book! She had me looking gorgeous! I must have gone over the photos a half dozen times before I settled on my final choices; again Lynn was very patient :) My book took a couple weeks to come in and I couldn't wait. I checked my email compulsively for the message that it had arrived. The book was an amazing quality and Lynn presented it in a pretty, sturdy, gray box with a pink bow. To say that my husband loved it would be an understatement! He was blown away! And knowing that he can carry the digitals on his phone and computer was a bonus! When I called to schedule my appointment, I was told they were booked til after my groupon expired, so they were extending it, which I thought was lovely. The girl on the phone was super nice and asked if I wanted to add hair and makeup, which I immediately said yes to. I also added on an outfit change, woohoo! After booking my appointment, I was emailed a list of what to wear and what not to wear and other important tips. When the day finally arrived, I was super excited, but still a little nervous. When I got there, the makeup/hair chick was super cool and helped ease my nerves. She was fun to chat with and we were cracking up while she curled my mane. I usually am pretty minimal with my makeup, so I almost crapped at the amount she put on my face, but she said it looked better to have more on in the photos. Then Melissa showed up (my paparazzi) and she was super nice, too. She showed me around the studio and I showed her the outfits I brought and we talked about what we were going to shoot first and background colors, etc. Now, clearly, I'm not a model...however, she gave really helpful directions and made it a little easier for me to pose for the camera. Well, a glass of Champagne was also included in the shoot, so that helped a little, too:) After the shoot, I sat down with her and we looked through all of the photos and chose my faves for her to email to me for me to decide which ones I wanted prints of. They just arrived in my inbox yesterday and the little lady and I looked them over together. Needless to say, it's going to be hard to pick just a few, as I really love a lot of them! Just looking at their website you can see what beautiful work they do. They took me on a tour of the studio and then had me lay out my outfits and piles of high heels (yes, I'm kind of a shoe addict) and helped me pick out the most flattering outfits for my pictures. Have I ever done anything like this before? no! Was it enjoyable and easy? Yes! Do they offer you champagne to help put your nerves at ease? yes...yum! After my session was over they gave me a sneak peek of some of my pictures and I am super excited to get them!! Forget the usual watch/tie/etc gift that you get for your boyfriend/husband...THIS is what he wants! Besides, every girl should have the chance to get totally pampered beautiful and have some gorgeous photographs to look back on.
