I dined in and had the lunch special - 3 maki rolls for $13.95, a great deal. I ordered their yellowtail (top), mackerel (bottom right), and salmon and mango (bottom left) maki rolls. While I was waiting for my sushi, they kindly brought me a bowl of delicious miso soup on the house. The sushi tasted great. Pretty good for my first time here. I was very impressed with the variety of items in the menu. You can order sushi, sushi burrito, ramen, poke bowls, or rice dishes. There's something for everyone. I ordered the the poke bowl. I like the fact that I can choose the base (for me it was the mixed greens), two proteins (salmon and white tuna), and two sauces (poke sauce and eel sauce). My bowl was plentiful (perhaps a bit too much of the sauces but it was still fine). My friend ordered the chicken ramen (which you could also get udon noodles). Our meal included a bowl of miso soup. I really enjoyed the miso. The soup was filled with tofu and seaweed unlike many places. I gladly slurped it up on this rainy day. Because of the variety of items on the menu, I would like to come back and try other dishes. Service: Friendly enough. When my friend asked for a second cup of hot water, we got a stern look. Incredibly friendly staff and amazing quality fish. First and foremost, that's what you're getting and it's top notch. The restaurant itself is a bit small and gets pretty loud, so that's not the best, and parking can be tough on weekends, so be prepared for that. Not impossible, just read the reserved signs on spaces carefully. But the important part: the food. We were a party of 3, my partner and I split a sashimi boat (yes, it comes in a chilled, beautifully presented boat), and it was top notch quality fish. They handled our request for no shellfish easily, and the portions were generous. Priced exactly right for the size and quality. My sibling got a salmon teriyaki dinner bento, with soup, a large fillet of excellent salmon, some maki rolls, and salad. We also got edamame for the table, which was nice. I wish they'd had proper tamari instead of wheat-based soy sauce, so if you can't eat wheat, be aware of that. They also brought a plate of crab Rangoon complimentary, which my sibling enjoyed. I'll reiterate my summary from my previous review: We usually don't have to wait (an advantage over the nearby Yuraku), the servers and owners are incredibly nice, and the sushi is 1) delicious, fresh, high quality, 2) generous with ingredients, and 3) affordable. They usually give you some freebies too, ranging from salmon heads, edamame beans, miso soup, and fried bananas. Still my favorite sushi place in Montgomery County, love to take family and friends here. Just tried some new dishes: Shrimp and vegetable tempura box - good portion, on the greasy side, crispy, would prefer Panko coating. California rolls, spicy white tuna crunchy roll, spicy yellowtail crunchy roll, spicy salmon crunchy roll - all are mouthwatering and STELLAR. Salmon carpaccio - wouldn't recommend, fish and avocado taste good but not the best value. Lots of lettuce, not a ton of fish for the price. Service - PHENOMENAL as usual. Recently got take out and my family really enjoyed the poke bowls. Lots of fish and vegetables, all fresh and well presented. The restaurant provided sauces on the side so we could add as much or as little as we wanted. They also liked all the options for the base, we got one with sushi rice and one with greens, but we could have gotten brown rice or combinations. Definitely would return for this, and would try the sushi and the rolls. What I wouldn't get again was the salmon jaw. It wasn't a jaw, it was half of the fish head, eyeball and all. Very fatty,, mushy and minimal salmon meat, and what there was wasn't pink but a gray mushy blob. Most of it was thrown in the trash, after the inedible parts were removed there was only a couple of ounces of salmon, so definitely not worth it. read more

They have great lunch specials (2 or 3 rolls) and other variety specials that you can get. I ordered through Grubhub and it was no problem. By the time I arrived, the order was ready. My husband and I ordered 3 rolls lunch special (California roll, Shrimp & Avocado roll, and Shrimp Tempura roll) and the Red Lobster Maki roll (lobster, shrimp tempura, crab with a special sauce on top). I'd have to say, I really dig their Red Lobster Maki roll. I was surprised how blown away my husband and I were when we ate each piece. It is very filling as each piece is filled with the promised seafood. It is a bit pricier for the "special rolls" but we are glad we tried it. Social distancing is practiced here. So torn about this experience. The order was an hour late after we ordered an hour ahead. They were busy. But four people standing around the counter while one very busy woman up front was trying to get people help was silly. Two women would bring the food bags and drop them and go back. I came here on a Friday afternoon with a friend for lunch. It was not super packed and we were seated immediately. Seating is a little tight, but the restaurant itself is not very big. Their lunch special has various rolls available for 2 for $7.25 or 3 for $10.50. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and California Rolls. Both were decent, not terrible and not amazing... but at a great price point :) Staff were friendly and our food came out quickly. No complaints on the food or service. The parking however... is somewhat a nightmare. Parking spaces are super tight right in front of Love Sushi. I would recommend parking a little further to avoid the cluster of chaos when cars try to come and go -_- Overall I would recommend this place and will likely come back here for lunch soon with the great lunch special that they offer :) read more

It really was a baffling experience for me. The quality of the sushi was pretty good! I'll even go as far as saying one of the better sushi spots in Montgomery County based off taste, quality, and cost! My gf and I ordered 4 rolls total (Salmon, Yellow Tail, Spicy Crunchy Tuna, and the Golden Salmon Maki) These were delicious rolls that tasted fresh and a great cut to the various raw fishes.The Golden Salmon Maki (I think that's what I ordered lol) was the star of the show. It was literally a flavor explosion and was most definitely one of the best Maki Rolls I've had in a while! This sushi spot was on it's way to a perfect 5 star...BUT for the appetizer we got the Takoyaki.Classic Japanese street food usually made in a special mini ping pong ball like griddle. I could tell this Sushi spot probably didn't own one because it looked like they dumped the frozen Takoyaki into a fryer and took it out once it started to brown. Once I bit into my first one I realized that mine was still frozen inside. The octopus inside was not chewable...Only one possible explanation. The fryer was high in temperature so it cooked the outer layer fairly quickly, which caused them to take it out of the fryer even though the insides weren't cooked yet.... I can't stress how shocked I was to be served a frozen Takoyaki or just any frozen thing in general! I can't give a high rating for a spot that serves something frozen. Although I would recommend this sushi spot to everyone because their sushi really is one of the best in Montgomery County! I'd advise just sticking to the sushi there and NOTHING else. Ut oh.. I may have just found my new favorite sushi place! My wife brought me out here along with my cousin. I wasn't expecting much, but I was truly blown away by how good (and pretty) all the food was. It was obvious to me that they took a lot of time and care for every roll they created. Too many places have the same plain-Jane rolls, but Love Sushi really put a lot of effort into each roll to make it truly stand out. We ordered miso soup for the table, then a handful of regular rolls (crunchy spicy tuna, Boston, and salmon), and two specialty rolls (volcano roll and the deluxe spicy salmon maki roll). Everything was amazing, especially the last two (see pics). Love Sushi also gave us calamari as an appetizer and banana tempura as a dessert, all on the house. Our waitress was great: friendly, attentive, and constantly clearing plates or refilling water. In the end, the three of us ate until we felt ready to burst all for under $50 (before tip). Woah... a sushi burrito? Interesting... I've had ginormous rolls of a single meal rolled into nori but Love Sushi's choices for their sushirito tickled me. For my sushirito I chose smoked salmon, smoked eel, tempura shrimp with crunchy bits, seaweed salad, avocado, topped with wasabi mayo and eel sauce. Dude... it was half the size of a chipotle burrito but just as filling. I drooled the entire time with each bigger bite until I hadn't noticed I devoured the whole thing. Finally! I arrived at a quiet safe location to share my meal, after setting up sauces and wasabi accordingly, we dug in. The double roll lunch special of salmon was delicious and fresh, no fishy smell or taste that would spark my suspicion. Salmon skin is seasoned and crunchy, a nice addition to the soft rice. Double salmon maki roll was hella bomb! Salmon on top and inside, fresh and buttery... I doesn't need extra soy sauce honestly. Look this place isn't very fancy or some type of place you go specifically. It's a simple place to get some okay sushi. The staff is always professional and friendly. The inside of the sushi place was nothing special. If anything they are do for an upgrade. Now the sushi's taste and presentation were not that great, but much better then your average store brought sushi. The lunch special deals are great for nearby office workers. Now some times the sushi isn't always very fresh for example; The eel and avocado roll were often not fresh and left a bad taste in my mouth. My colleague had the M22 Deluxe Spicy Tuna with Jalapeno roll of some kind which was way too big - I don't understand why they don;t make it bite-sized: you are not supposed to bite your sliced roll or Nigiri in half. My selection of Uni, fatty white tuna and amaebi was very good, but again, too large. Yes, love sushi! The name of this restaurant has caught my attention every time I drive by and I finally had the opportunity to try it. WHY HAVE I WAITED SO LONG TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT??! SALMON AVOCADO ROLL: Ive been to other cheap sushi place and the avocado was raw, but these avocados were perfect. The combo of the salmon and the avocados were a perfect blend of creamy and chewiness. SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL: Most shrimp tempura rolls are made so big, I struggle to eat it in one bite, but this one was feasible. Perfect combo of fried shrimp and rice. SALMON ROLL: The circumference of the salmon was impressive, I've been to some places where theres so much rice that it over powers the salmon. The salmon was soft and easy to chew. CHICKEN RAMEN: I honestly was not that impressive, but it was cold and it hit the spot. The broth did not have a deep, creamy flavor. It was a subtle flavor, not sure exactly what was in the broth. It was tasty though, not sure if i would order again. The chicken was the same cut as a chicken teriyaki box, but stirfried and placed on the ramen. The noodle was cooked al dente, so that was impressive. Overall, good service and amazing food. Our waiter was full of happiness and life, it made me smile and added to the experience. David and I have been eyeing this place for their sushi burrito for a while - to our knowledge this was the only place in our area that makes them so we wanted to give it a try. David and I each ordered a custom burrito and a volcano roll to share. For my burrito I got the tempura shrimp, eel, and imitation crabmeat, avocado, cucumber, crunchy crabmeat, spicy mayo and eel sauce. The imitation crabmeat is the shredded crabmeat version which I like, I didn't know why they listed crunch crabmeat as a second topping with the vegetables. The burrito was really good and I think the portion was enough for me plus sharing the second roll with David. I would also recommend the volcano roll too, it had shrimp tempura and crab on it, and reasonably priced (cheaper than the other specialty rolls). I highly recommend getting a sushi burrito - I really liked how you can customize it and make it your own. I think I'll add a little more variety next time and get spicy tuna! The wait staff here was super friendly as well, we waited for a while to get waters but the one waitress that was working the restaurant by herself gave us free edamame and fried banana. The quality of the fish is not the best in my opinion, and the fish are sliced as if they're serving you cuts of rough steak... not the proper technique at all!
