So unless requested, they do not email results. But ask them anything and they will double check for you. Medical opinion: tbd I like Dr Susan in the sense she gets large dogs as she is a german shepherd owner herself. Most medical professionals lack or are not the best at bedside manners, as they lean more to the evidence based information side...that's why the friendly assistants/receptionist make up that end. She's thorough in interview intake, physical assessment and suggestions of objective testing ie)blood work or xray, but helps inform why you really need it now or what can wait. Her job is to communicate what she thinks is happening to her furry patient and makes sure the owner understands. Unfortunately most owners, myself included, see the costs of understanding first and get distracted quickly after. I do find she is not pushy but knowledgeable and passionate. Our previous vet retired early and was not as up to date as Dr Susan is on pain meds. She is able to examine her blood work and tell me why the red flags seen on the test are red herrings, and may mean something else the other vet missed. We tried a new med that my dog hated and she was ok to adjust another one to compensate. Senior dog health is the most complicated and expensive phase of the animal's life. This is where you need a knowledgeable professional that you can feel comfortable to work with. My dog is 12 years old but even in her lifetime the suggestions on dog tramadol and ssri have changed, which my previous vet missed and Dr Susan knew well. I won't say she is a good fit for every pet owner but she sure knows her facts and enjoys continuing learning in her medical field. This should be a really important consideration.

Perhaps she's been better 10 years ago, but now, she's very driven by money. She will try to sell you hard on stuff you don't need, or processes. In the process, she'll try to sell you things in good or bad ways, like scaring you, threatening you or guilt you into buying into doing extra. She might even do "extra" for you because that's what "most" people do or that's how it's usually done. 3. She's not that good (anymore). Related to above, how can anyone prioritize the health of your pet if they prioritize money first? Let's say your pet has _____ disease and it's pretty urgent. But she needs to prioritize money first, so she'll ask you to do many tests, and that may waste valuable time. Or if a medication she prescribed has certain side effects, when you report back to her how your pet feels and experiences some of those side effects, she'll tell you "I don't like it". Your pet shouldn't be like that. If you tell her that could be the side effects, she will be like you don't know that until we test it. Anyways, I've heard other vets are super greedy as well. But this is another one, I'll suggest a pass just to save on some $$. If you don't mind, I would still suggest you not to. It's encouraging bad behaviour.

He is a pet training couch of 20+ years and is very knowledgeable in his field. At CaptainK9, they offer a variety of raw goods for your pet such as snacks and meals. I signed my husky up for a 5 days boarding with CaptainK9 and the care Kevin put in for my dog made me feel at ease to know that my dog is in the hands of a trained professional with keen eyes, and a big field for him to roam around and have play time interactions with other dogs. Kevin even sent me a video clip of my dog interacting with other boarding dogs. I could have signed my dog up at a big brand pet hotel where he would have been walked daily in the parking lot, and had interacting play time indoors with other dogs, but I'm glad I made the choice of going with CaptainK9, so my dog gets to have playtime outside and enjoy the great outdoors with trusted supervision. I mentioned to Kevin that I've been wanting to switch my husky over to raw food, so he provided raw food to my dog during his boarding period and I am happy to know that he wolfed it all down very quickly. Needless to say, I picked him up today with bags of raw goods for my husky to enjoy at home. Couple key points I'd like to mention: 1. It's my first time EVER doing dog boarding and Kevin made sure he was present for my dog's drop off and pick up time to go through the details with me so I feel at ease. 2. From Kevin's description during my dog's stay, I know he gave great attention to my dog and it's nice to know I can leave my dog in trusted hands. 3. When I picked up some raw food from their store, Kevin knows it's my first ever trying out raw food for my dog so he quickly explained certain mixtures my dog can have to better his digestive system.

I was looking for a groomer and this shop showed up with some pretty stellar reviews. When I…read morearrived there were two lovely ladies at the front who welcomed Obi (and myself) with smiles. They are amazing and I wish I remembered their names. They are extremely pleasant, understanding and caring with Obi. They made his first groom experience so good that he was no longer nervous when he came back for his second. They two ladies were extremely informative and went through everything and even gave some advice with some of our questions. (The cheese chew saved us!). It also helps that the shop is extremely cute and inviting. I can say for certain Obi has found his new groomers.

We left our healthy, 7 month old puppy, Charlie, at the Roverdale Licensed Dog Boarding Kennel for four days.  When we picked him up and paid our bill, we noticed a very deep, open cut on his side (not a dog bite) and when we asked the owner, Luan, about it, she said she "didn't notice it till now" and that she had "no idea how that happened".  There was no apology or concern even at that time. We took Charlie to the veterinarian asap and poor Charlie ended up having surgery and stitches and he had to wear a cone for three WEEKS!  The veterinary bill was just under $600! After the surgery, the vet told us to be sure to advise Roverdale that such a deep cut could only be caused by a very sharp hazard on their property and they should find the source so that no one else's animal would end up with a cut like our dog did. We sent a letter to Luan suggesting she search for and find the sharp object and we also expressed our expectation that she, at the very least, take SOME financial responsibility for what happened to our puppy there.  She did not even have the courtesy to respond. The second letter was Registered and Luan signed for it, so she definitely received it. It is now mid-September and she still has not even had the good manners, compassion, common sense or the professional maturity to acknowledge her responsibility in any way!  In actuality, we paid her a boarding fee to badly injure our puppy, and THEN paid our veterinarian $600 to repair what happened under Luan's watch at her facility!  WOW!!  If we had refused to pay her the boarding fee, we would at least have recovered THAT amount. If there was a way to give a ZERO stars rating, Roverdale Boarding Kennel would certainly deserve that in this case.  It is beyond belief that a place that relies on word-of-mouth recommendations and positive reviews and feedback, would treat clients in this manner.   Luan could have handled this situation SO much better.  Even if she had had to use insurance to cover the cost of Charlie's injury, that would have been "the right thing to do".  Our puppy did not deserve to go through this pain and inconvenience and we did not deserve to be ignored when we have a legitimate complaint. No wonder Roverdale Doggie B and B isn't a member of the Better Business Bureau - - they couldn't possibly be even if they wanted to be! A business run like this is not a respectable business.  Clients come first or you end up without clients and without a business.  How incredibly disappointing (and expensive) Charlie's "Dog Vacay" at Roverdale turned out to be.  Find another place if you want your dog to be delivered back to you in one piece. Luan deserves a big, fat ZERO and a "Failure" rating in this situation. Learn your lesson the easy way - - Take your dog to another facility (we now go to the Cantope Dog Boarding Kennel in Georgina),  if you want proper care.  Save yourself hundreds of dollars in veterinary bills that Roverdale won't pay even if they know they're responsible!
