Mrs. K. and I are fans of the Love's chain of gas stations / truck stops. This one is another example of why. It's right next to the interstate so you know that you're not going to be detouring miles from the highway. There's going to be a roomy pump area so it's easy to get in. They offer a 10c per gallon discount on fuel, which usually makes them the cheapest. And inside, snacks and drinks and hot dogs and coffee. All usually very well stocked, fresh and ready. Great place to stop along I-95. Can be a little hectic, but it's usually quick and clean.

The employee's were rude when I accidentally dropped a soda lid on the ground when my hands were full, which was kind of ironic because they were also standing in the way of the things I was trying to access. Several employees stood in a group chatting. This would have been fine, but the fact that they were rude to me really killed the entire experience. Some positives: the waffle breakfast sandwich. awful experience. the set up is awful because people are awful. got stuck behind a narcissistic jerk who blocked everyone at the pumps while he went inside. then he sees people are waiting so he proceeds to clean his car out , adjust his phone and waste even more of my time. finally I can get to the bathroom where a young able bodied girl takes the handicapped stall . Meh. Generally do not take time to write about or check in for a travel stop BuT this one was astonishingly mediocre almost disappointing. Bathrooms weren't gross dirty but definitely not clean, soda fountain was dirty and out with no out of order sign. Cold beverages in the coolers pricey to the point we opted just for the has fill up and the bathroom break we needed. Could have been an off day but I'd choose one of the other stops at this exit next time. read more

A real truck stop, with showers and all. A trucker told me to buy my phone mount from a truck stop to get a better one than the one I was constantly replacing... THAT THING HAS NOT MOVED FROM MY WINDSHIELD IN SIX MONTHS!!! Although, the price has a huge markup, that was great advice. read more

Brief update time: Like so many other people, we do the I-95 shuffle multiple times a year. While there are tons of places to stop along the way I always seem drawn to one of spots in Ruther Glen. It probably has a lot to do with the cheap gas prices. During my stop at this Love's last week it was a solid fifty cents a gallon cheaper than what I'm paying at home in eastern PA. I suppose it's easy to be this cheap when you have considerably lower gas taxes combined with tons of competition at this small intersection. Aside from Love's you've got an Exxon, Valero, Gulf and a Flying J all practically built on top of each other. The downside to this Love's is that it is always hyper crowded. The store was practically maxed out in terms of parking for cars and trucks let alone the inside which boasted filthy bathrooms, long lines for Subway and the retail store severely understaffed of cashiers. Sure they have every snack, sundry, drink, stuffed animal, chrome gear shifter you could imagine but what's the point when the place looks ransacked and it takes three times as long to wait to pay as it does to pump the gas. The price is right no question and things are still easy to get off/on 95 in either direction but I think next time I'm going to go back to using the Flying J across the highway. While not as convenient to get to if you're on 95 north, they seem to have their act together a bit more then this place does for right now. read more

If you just need a snack to go, they've got plenty to choose from including fresh fruit near the coffee area. We sometimes stop here on the way home from a roadtrip, as we prefer Love's truckstops, since they're usually clean and well-stocked.  Nothing special about this place, other than it's usually a lot cleaner to use the restroom than other gas stations. read more

Nasty AF, bathrooms filthy, no hot water to wash your hands, you might as well dip your hands in the toilet bowl. The faucets hardly come on which leads me to believe they are not cleaning the faucets properly for the sensors to detect movement. Just throw the whole place in the trash. read more

My experience started at pretty positive, I stopped in to use their restrooms which appeared to be updated recently. The facilities weren't very clean. There was water all over the counters and the toilets had water/urine/your guess is as good as mine, on them. On top of that, it was super hot in the bathroom (78 degrees). Warm, wet, bathrooms aren't my thing. I then went to get gas, at one of their several pumps. Of course the one I went to was frozen. I let one of the staff know, and he seemed extremely annoyed by my letting him know, not the kind of customer service I was expecting. I went to another pump and got my gas, and eventually the attendant returned to fix the original pump. read more

I love this place. Filling the tank was easy. The customers were friendly. The employees were singing to the radio. The variety of food & snack items was great. The aisles were crowded with new items that needed a home. I have never seen canes for sale at a truck stop. There were cute stuffed animals, nice handbags and even clothing items. The drink prices were cheaper than 7-11 in DC. There is a subway/Dairy Queen attached to the store. Love it! read more

Easy access on and off of I-95. Easy to access Route 301. The price of gas is good. There's a Dairy Queen inside along with a convenience store and showers for truck drivers. There's a hotel next door and a McDonald's, Taco Bell, and other truck stop gas stations nearby. Many people local to the Richmond area drive here to get gas. Staff are friendly. read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. I am an over the road truck driver, I stoped at this location to get a shower cause I only use loves truck stops. Well I was bobtail so I didn't have a trailer so I can fit just about anywhere a car can. I parked on the side of the scale so I could run in and take my shower, I was there under an hour and then I get a call from my company telling me that the tow truck was there and wanting to tow my truck. I rush out the shower and meet with the cops, the sorry excuse for a manager and the tow truck driver. The lady was rude and said that I ran over something in her parking lot witch I did not do. Then the tow truck costed me $800 just to lift my truck up and set it back down. On top of that I'm looking around and I see at least 5 other trucks parked against the curb not in a legal parking spot and blocking people from getting out of the fuel island. I didn't see a tow truck hooked to those trucks. As a truck driver we are bound by dot enforcement and some of the heaviest restrictions in any workforce. This is not our fault that we have to park in odd spots. We are the people that sacrifice our time away from our families to bring you what you need and a truck stop should be the safest place in the world for a truck driver. The tow truck operator asked this sorry manager lady if the driver could be in the shower and she replied with no and all her showers where cleaned witch was a lie cause I was in one of them. Well needless to say I think I'm done with loves all together, if they are ok with employees like this with no customer service and poor attitude, I'm not ok with them. It cost $1400 to fill my truck up everyday I run so I'm still going to get fuel but not at loves. I'll post pictures of this no parking zone. read more

Very nice simple Gas Station and stop to stretch your legs after a long car ride. Gas isn't to bad and inside they have fast food places and gas station supplies and food and beverages. Bathrooms were clean and overall the experiment here is always nice and clean. My mom used to have a home nearby so we know of this gas station and stop very well. And when we travel and this Loves stop is on the way in the direction of where we come from or go. We do like to stop here. So anyways yes place has nice set up and very clean and easy to get around and get gas and beverages. 100%A+ read more

Hello There,I'm a Trucker and went to this Truck stop Tuesday January 4 2022 At between 8:30A-900A and when there I got some fuel but the pump shot fuel on me i then went to tell the clerk which was a young woman and I was briefly cut off by a young Black man who also work there and he berating me and saying I could call them he didn't care and I told her this is why you can't speak with any Afro-American and Im Afro-American myself but this young man wore a blue shirt which he is of the managers staff .The chagrin I have with love9s is I could not get in touch with Loves corporate Headquarters at all I tried to call several times with no avail and Loves should have a better way of contact you when things go on like this ,I could of been injured by the fuel squinting in my He had NO RIGHT TO BERATE ME IN ANY WAY and I want something done about it! read more

Don't get me wrong, this is still a rest stop and that needs to be taken into consideration when I say it's 5-stars, but for a gas station/convenience store/fast food it was pretty darn good. They have a huge selection of EVERYTHING from drinks to snacks to travel needs. The staff was super friendly, very welcoming and making jokes as they served us. The bathrooms were a little in need of attention, but not so much so that I'd say they were dirty or unkempt​. Just not as well maintained as the rest of the store. read more

I gave this travel stop two stars because the customer service associates were extremely pleasant and helpful. It really should have been a one star review due to the bug problem. During my recent stop at Loves I noticed roaches in the coffee area. Specifically in the coffee creamer spill/splash guard. Yes, it's just a gas station/ convenience store. The bathrooms were clean, the store was well stocked, and the hot dogs were, in fact, hot. The cashiers, however, are the best. They are friendly and helpful, even confirming with a child buying candy that they wanted the white chocolate. read more

Subway manager was very rude when attempting to get chicken on a kids sandwich. I offered to pay extra or pay for a six inch but still wanted the kids meal for my 5 year old. We placed two large orders prior to coming to Doswell for an event at the Meadow Farms. The order was ready at pick up when promised, The staff even carried it to the van. The second order needed to be changed due to inclement weather--the people at Loves were great. We would use them again. read more
