Cracks on my 2011 Lowe 190 Stinger bass boat. The boat leaks like a sieve! Contacted the local Lowe dealer(Riveredge Marina) back in early July. They looked at it and said they'd get in touch with a Lowe warranty manager. Six weeks later they did. The guy I had talked to said he forgot about it. Really? I asked Jeff where the boat was going to go to be fixed. He refused to tell me. He said he didn't want me to start stirring up stuff. Great customer service-NOT. A few days later I talked to a Lowe warranty manager(Jess?). He said the boat had to go to Causeway Marina in Naples, Maine. That's about 2 hours away from me and said that the facility couldn't take my boat until they completed their fall winterization program. Here it is November 22, we've already had snow and freezing rain and I haven't heard from ANYONE! I had to put my boat in storage a few days ago because of the bad weather. Up here in northern New Hampshire we don't trailer our boats around during the winter months, especially over mostly back roads to Naples, Maine! I have not contacted Causeway about when they plan on finishing up their "winterization program" because the boat is not going there. I did go on line an check the CM reviews. They get an average of 2 out of 5 stars. Not good, and Lowe wants them to weld a keel over the top of my cracked keel without turning the boat over. I'm sure that would turn out well!
I had read somewhere that Lowe had great customer service. They do not. They want to palm these serious repair issues onto a facility of convenience that more than likely does not have a CERTIFIED Tig welder that does these kinds of repairs every day.
I wanted Lowe to take the boat back to the factory where experienced welders deal with these issues on a regular basis(and would turn the boat over), but no, that costs to much. I'm sure that cracked keels are an epidemic with these boats. Lowe should be ashamed of themselves.
Anyway, I guess it's time to get out the J-B Weld! Next time I'll buy a Ranger! read more
