The Lowell Covered Bridge is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. It has a lot of history behind it, and I really liked that there are displays inside with information and photos about covered bridges in Oregon it makes it more than just something to look at. The views of Dexter Lake right next to it are gorgeous, and honestly, it's one of the best spots around to watch the sunset. It's also a great place to go fishing if you've got the time. Overall, it's a quick visit, but a really neat piece of history and a great photo spot. read more

It's a nice stop to park with a view of the lake but bathrooms are stinky and dirty. Its a loss you can't go through the covered bridge because of repairs they won't make. read more

There are many covered bridges thorough out Oregon. Lowell Covered Bridge is a good one to visit. The interpretive center inside the bridge tells of the history and local information. Very informative and interesting. Next to Highway 58. Easy access and parking. read more

The little bridge sits alone parallel to the bridge with traffic disconnected. It is in the National Registry of Historic Places as the original bridge was built in 1907. It subsequently was destroyed and rebuilt in 1945. It was subsequently damaged and repaired at an even later date. It is a piece of local history of interest to the locals and is simply a wooden covered bridge with lots of local stories hidden behind it, but not much interest to an outsider. It's always good to see what the locals consider historical and this was apparently quite an event with the building of the Damned the raising of the bridge and other local historical items that you can find if you take a tour of the Lowell covered bridge. read more
